Not our first visit, but not as good as the last. They raised their prices which is understandable in this new era however the portions were not large. They do not have vegan options besides Pho, I was disappointed since many reviews mentioned vegan options. The server told me all of the sauces are prepared in advance with oyster sauce or fish. Pho was with a vegetable broth but tasted more like chicken broth and I couldn't bear to eat it. They have a small private parking lot and is only a short drive from the beach, these are the pros for me.

Great spot to grab food. I had the veggie fried rice noodles with tofu and it was excellent. Appeared to have a steady stream of people. Friendly and prompt service with on the larger size of portions! Easy peasy parking available. I meant to snap a pic of my dish but gobbled it down before I remembered (it was so good!) - I did grab a Thai iced tea to go

Disgusting place. My 1 year old spotted a cockroach within our table and I told the manager and he said it was my 1 year old who attracted it to the table because of the mess she made. the place was a little messy and I told him it was disgusting and said I didn't feel comfortable eating there or sanitary to be eating. The audacity the man had to tell me it was because of my baby !!

We decided to take a gamble and give this place a shot while staying in Daytona. The food is just ok, and actually pretty pricey compared to most Vietnamese places. We ordered shrimp spring rolls to start. They were freshly made because the wrappers were soft, but the veggies (cucumbers and carrots) inside were ice cold. Every time I took a bite, juice from the cucumber leaked out the bottom. This tells me that the cucumbers were not fresh and must have been stored in a refrigerator for quite some time, hence why they were ice cold. I pulled some of the cucumbers out and they were wet and flimsy like a noodle. For $5.75 for 2 spring rolls, definitely not worth it. After eating the spring rolls, I became pretty concerned because I ordered the pork vermicelli, which usually also comes with cucumbers. Once it arrived, you could visibly see how wet and soft the cucumbers and carrots were. I tasted one of the carrots and it had a slightly sour taste, so I ended up pulling them all out because I didn't want to take any chances. In doing so, I was basically left with just pork and noodles, and the egg roll that I added. The fish sauce that is served with it was on the sweet side and almost seems like they added sweet chili sauce to it. All in all, it wasn't terrible, but for dish that costs $12.95 plus and extra $2.00 to add one tiny egg roll (smaller and thinner than usual), I wouldn't recommend ordering. My husband ordered the pho Saigon. It was little surprising how a broth that was so dark could also be so bland. Also, the broth was very cloudy, where pho broth is usually supposed be nice and clear and clean. It almost seems as though the broth was never skimmed as it was cooking. They also use the medium sized rice noodles, not the thin ones that are usually served in pho, and the onions were sliced much thicker than usual. All in all, the price, amount of food, and quality is not on par with any other Vietnamese restaurant that I have been to, and I've been to a lot. It may be ok for it's location, but if coming from any other city that has a decent Asian food presence, I'd probably skip it.

Wow, we have been to Dayton Beach many times and saw this restaurant but never stopped by. I regret that ! All those times we could have been enjoying this amazing Pho. The Veggie and chicken broth are fantastic and so flavorful. The service is great as well as the ambiance. If you are in the area and want Pho, do yourself a favor and stop by. I can't wait to go back!

Pho broth meets expectations, although mild. I enjoyed the vegetables and tofu, which is often not an option at other restaurants. Pad Thai Chicken was okay, definitely sweet, savory, and a little sour but missing the spice of traditional Pad Thai. This restaurant meets expectations, although could thrive with some investment in improving food quality and the dining room.

Who knew I'd find comforting Vietnamese food across from the Speedway!…read more I had just flown into Daytona Beach and, after settling into my hotel room, I came to Mama's Kitchen for dinner. Right away, we were greeted by a young lady and gentleman, and were directed to sit at one of the tables. The restaurant was clean and spacious. They had a cute little Vietnamese cart in the middle of the restaurant to bring a bit of Vietnam into its design. They also had a wall with a beautiful drawing. We ordered a few things from their menu, starting off with egg rolls and Bahn Mi with sweet potato fries. Whatever dip it came with was delicious - and that's coming from someone who doesn't like the orange sweet potatoes! We also ordered entrees such as their Bo Kho and Bo Ne. Both stews were delicious. For drinks, we had a Tamarind drink and a Kumquat drink - both of which were refreshing. Overall, I really liked the food here. And the decor was simple and the service was attentive. The gentleman who brought our food out was also very careful with making sure there were no peanuts in any of our dishes. I'd love to come back here again on my next visit and try a new dish!

We did not order any beverages other than water. The service was very slow and I almost got up to remind our server that we had ordered food and were still waiting. I sampled my wife's pho and found it had a good flavor. The tendon and tripe were over cooked and a bit mushy. The other meats were cooked ok. The plate of condiments (bean sprouts, basil and peppers) were very skippy. At $18, I felt the Pho needed to be better. At $20, the Bo Ne lacked in a few areas and following this dining experience I probably wouldn't order it again. First off, I ordered this dish because it looked good and from the picture. On the menu it says "Vietnamese beef tenderloin" on the menu. The dish I was served looked much different than what I saw on the menu. The pickled carrots and radish must of had the day off on this night. Back to the tenderloin. In my years as a chef, I will tell you that there is only one piece of meat that is more tender than any other cut of meat from the cow and that is the tenderloin. What was served me was closer related to a tough cut or sirloin that tightened up so much when cooked, that every piece of meat I had to chew and chew to get past the grizzle. Once chewed, I needed to remove the meat from my mouth. See picture of the bread basket for the remnants of their so called beef tenderloin. The sauce that the meat was swimming in had a good taste. The liver pate was bland and was melting away into the sauce of the dish. One positive note about the experience is that the bread was superb! We may go back again sometime in the future but not any time soon.

2 Stars I hate…read moregiving anyone a two-star review, especially for breakfast--my favorite meal of the day--but unfortunately, this one just missed the mark for us. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. If you're going to charge around $15 for a breakfast, put a good-quality sausage patty on the grill. It doesn't take much to make a flavorful sausage gravy from scratch either, but this gravy tasted like it came straight from a bag or can and had almost no flavor. The biscuits themselves were actually pretty good, but pouring margarine over the top completely changed the taste. The sausage patties weren't very good and seemed like they'd been left on the grill too long. The fried potatoes were decent, and so was the sourdough toast. The staff was nice and working hard--they were extremely busy. There were a lot of people in line, so clearly plenty of people enjoy the breakfast here, and the place itself has an interesting atmosphere. The price didn't help. $4 for a Sprite is overkill. We had one breakfast with an egg, sausage, toast and home fries, one waffle, half an order of biscuits and gravy, and drinks, and the bill was over $40. At that price point, I simply expect better-quality breakfast ingredients. This is just our experience and opinion. The staff was friendly, and considering how busy they were, I give them credit for that. Maybe we'll give it another shot next year, but this time around, the quality just didn't match the price.
