I had quite a bit of time with ingrid so by the time we got to the brazilian it felt like I had a supportive friend there helping me through it. the staff is really knowledgeable and kind and there's a calm energy around the place. I booked a brow WAX about a week in advance. They texted me a few days before and asked if I would like a brow sugaring. I said no thanks. They called me the day before and said "we have a cancelation at XX time - would you like to move your appointment". I said no thanks. I show up for my appointment and they take me back and said, we are ready to do your brow sugaring. I said I booked a WAX --- they said they didn't have anyone that could do that service and I would have to come back later in the day. I had a busy day and booked that time to fit my schedule. Anyways, I rearranged my schedule, came back. Had my waxing (she did a very poor job -- left one brow half undone and had very bad body odor). I asked to speak with the manager - she was unavailable. No sorry, no let me give you a discount for the inconvenience. Nothing. In hind sight -- they knew they could not perform the service I booked and that is why they kept texting/calling me and just hoped I wouldn't notice that I was not getting a wax? Things would have gone much better if they would have called me before my appointment and been honest that they didn't have anyone at that time to perform my service. read more

I love balm. I work with Mykle and she is the greatest. The whole place's atmosphere is very calm, welcoming and cute. I became a member after the first session because they are what I've been looking for. I wanted to just clean and hydrate my skin, have a relaxed time and feel good! Once the studio had some construction/renovation/rearrangement and created some disturbance and cut our time a bit short, which didn't bother me at all, but Mykle offered to have me come in again for free in a week to make sure that my skin was taken care of, you really can't beat that kind of service. read more

Walked in to schedule a simple eyebrow wax. They told me to come back at 3:45 for my appointment. I arrived at 3:40, I sat until 4:05 and asked the front what happened, she said they were behind. I had to leave so i rescheduled for the following saturday. The day before they text me saying they need a card or they will cancel my appointment. Within an hour they cancelled my appointment. After the first poor experience and then another follow up poor experience, I cant recommend this place. They lost a consistent client. All I wanted was an eyebrow wax that cost 20 bucks. Please read before going here.... I strongly advise against using this company's services. After paying over $400 for a package of three services, I was told at my third appointment that I had no services left. This was confusing since I had only attended two appointments. The staff claimed that my third service had been canceled and used, yet I had not been informed of any such cancellation fee ?When I inquired about the cancellation fee, they stated it was 50% of the service cost. However, they deducted the entire cost from my package ($100+) without any notification. Seems interesting The situation arose after they requested to move my appointment later in the day. Since I wasn't feeling well, I decided to cancel, thinking it would be a win-win. Instead, they charged me a cancellation fee and removed my remaining service without notifying me. They also claimed they tried to charge my card, which was declined due to my blocking unapproved charges. My bank confirmed there was no record of any attempted charges, suggesting the company simply chose to take the easy route by deducting the service from my package and billing me again. Had I been provided with this information upfront or given the policy documents I signed that I requested from them, I would have understood OR maybe if they just called and spoke with me. Despite emailing over a week ago and being promised a response by the front desk staff--who also forced me to pay for the service again--I have yet to receive any follow-up. This demonstrates unethical business practices and poor management. It's embarrassing for a company to have staff unaware of their policies or how to use their POS system. Given the lack of response, I have had to dispute the charge with my bank, file a complaint with the BBB, and still await my signed policy documents. Additionally, I have photos showing that this incident follows a previous experience where another balm in Portland damaged my skin during a wax session and the Estonian continue to wax me noticing my skin was literally ripping off, I also was not on any skin products at this time so she should have just stopped. I did not complain at that time as I generally avoid disputes, but being scammed and forced to pay for a service already covered is unacceptable. I urge you to seek services elsewhere. read more

I paid over $200 at the Beaverton studio to walk out with a volume lash fill that looks like it needed to be refilled again on top of the fact a large number of lashes fell out the next day. Contacted the store via text and spoke to Mykel who offered a free 'refill' at the Pearl location. Same thing happened. I questioned the tech and she said, yes placement of the lash so FAR up the lash is normal. i contacted the store again and sent another pic. I was then gaslighted by being offered a measly $100 store credit and a dance around the actual question of IF the placement was normal and why so thin for a volume fill. She once again gaslit me and indicated it was 'because of the health or lashes' that placement is determined. I asked for a refund and was given the tiny $100 compared to the over TWO HUNDRED I spent. Don't waste your money here. They obviously care more about the pick glasses they serve water in than the quality of work done or customer service provided read more

Two things : #1 My lash lift with Tyler Ray turned out to be more of a lash curl, the shape was really unattractive as the lashes now curl back toward my eyelids. This is probably due to the fact that my lashes are very fine so the lift solution was left on longer than necessary resulting in an overly curled lash rather than a lifted lash and a more experienced technician would have know to account for this. #2 I had an allergic reaction to the adhesive uses to adhere the silicone molds to my lids. I don't blame Tyler Reed for this, could happen to anyone BUT what was scary is that after I told her my skin was burning and she took off the molds she said, "Oh looks like you are having a reaction, hold this fan on your face and let me go get my manager" which was slightly terrifying. I'm in a room alone in burning pain with my eyes closed unable to open them because of not knowing if I'm going to get chemicals in them while my technician is gone for an unknown amount of time. I was alarmed by her reaction but unable to see how bad it was. Luckily it wasn't too long until the manager came in with a cold washcloth, but like, shouldn't you have washcloths at the ready by default just in case ? The manager confirmed I was having an allergic reaction and asked Tyler "Have you talked about after care yet?" Tyler said no, and the manager proceeded to tell me to go home and take some Benadryl and that the service would be free of charge. I don't want to be too down on Tyler as I think it's just a matter of lack of experience, but I'm leaving this review in hopes of creating a learning moment for them and for the Balm Med Spa. read more
