I've been coming here for years. Ladies are great and they do nails well. The only complaint I have is that that they are constantly screaming to each other across the room and it's extremely stressful. I get out to do my nails and enjoy being a way from kids and relax. they definitely need to STOP that. It's just not professional at all! I couldn't go into 2019 with my feet in the state it was in so I convinced my girl for us to get pedis. Every nail salon in this area has crappy reviews. You know, those five star reviews from yelpers with zero friends or pics which lets me know it's either staff or friends of staff reviewing themselves. **Sighs** I stumbled upon Ballet Nail Salon (love their name made me feel they specialized in toes lol) and they seemed new. Just one review and over a hundred pictures of their work from the business. I decided we can take a chance and booked us appointments. We got here early and Elin started working on my toes about six minutes after my appointment. She did however check with me to let me know she was just finishing up a client. She seemed very sweet. The upsell wasn't an aggressive one and I got a little extra. I enjoyed this pedicure. Elin knows her stuff. She's professional, gentle, friendly and thorough but quick. Friendly clientele too. This was definitely my error for going back a second time but I thought, "hey, I'm only going for a simple pedicure, what can go wrong!?!" Everything !! Nail tech Crystal ruined a brand new pair of Tkees flip flop that cost more than the pedicure I just received. When i first went there i was given an inexperienced nail technician after stating i didn't want my pedicure done by her i was given another person who did a good job. The next time i went i tried the lady named Wendy and from what i felt we had a good relationship and i would only let her do my feet. But the last time i went im not sure if she had an attitude or what i didn't like her service and Elin translated that Wendy said my toenail had chipped which wasn't an issue acrylic couldn't fix except she doesn't do acrylic. So i left to go shopping and returned later. When i returned Wendy i sat down to do my pedicure and they were acting like they were shocked that i returned. Lol. Anyway i tried to get my toes done and they were acting like they didn't want to service me. Anyway Jay ended up doing my feet and i left happy at his work with the acrylic and he had another girl do my actual pedicure. Totally satisfied but TODAY on Valentine's Day it was a different mood. I called prior to make sure Jay would be in and i was told Wednesday at 1pm. I get there and he's not there. A lot of giggling and side commentary in their language which is expected because that's what they do. She tells me he's not there and i ask why was i told he would be there unexpectedly he arrives and says he can't stay to do my feet but instructs Elin to do my acrylic and she lets me know she's only doing the acrylic which i agreed to. Do you know when she finished she denied me a pedicure and only wanted me to pay for three acrylic nails but no pedicure. Like who does that? So childish and unprofessional. Just because i didn't want to use Wendy anymore smh. I thought by leaving a review it would kinda leave an impression but after reading all of the reviews mines won't even leave a DENT lol i have to laugh because we will see how long they'll be around either way bad customer service like that. Anywho im on my way to go out for Valentine's Day. Yup lol with seven painted toes and three unpainted toes smh it's a lesson learned. Spend your money where you are respected. i did a gel mani and gel pedi and they rushed me. They were speed racing and they did not social distance. all customers were sitting next to eachother and at the end the lady made me apply lotion on my own hands and didn't even give me a small massage as they usually do after a manicure. Im super happy to find a close nail spot by me. 1st time trying and I will definitely b back. They just opened, and they are very clean. I'm in corporate hospitality and I am always on my feet. I average 30k steps a day. But I am slightly ticklish so I'm no a huge fan off foot massages. Ellen did a get job scrubbing my feet and getting all dead skin and imperfections. I was super comfortable with her, she was gentle;didn't chooke me with the clippers or anything. They also was very appropriate with their products portions I hate to feel like they don't use enough callus remover or only fill the water to ur ankles. I've been a customer here since they first opened (I'm the girl with the afro that always asks for chrome colors ^.^). In fact I actually just came from them today and as always, they do a fantastic job (they managed to give me a manicure while fixing my broken nails!). I'm not sure what the complaints about rudeness are about, because whenever I'm there, they are extremely nice and are even apologetic regarding the wait times. The wait times are a bit long, but it's because the neighborhood it's in is really convenient for a lot of women to come to after work (myself included). Nevertheless they're all pretty good at juggling the madness without the quality of work suffering. If you can, I suggest to try and go at your earliest convenience. My only suggestion is that they need to be upfront and honest with wait times. I know they need to make $$$, but a lot of people get annoyed not so much with waiting, but the fact that they're told 15 minutes, & then they end up waiting a lot longer. A lot of your customers are working women with children that may not have the flexibility to wait long periods of time like I do. I also hope that they get more staff members in the future. This place is only going to get more popular, and they need to be able to keep up! Other than that, I always leave satisfied. For whatever reason, they treat their customers as if the customers need the establishment and not vice versa. These Women LOVE to drag their clients for filth in front of them. Today I decided to give this nail salon a try. They are fairly new in the neighborhood. I loved the options of colors they had for gel, regular nail polish, and powdered colors. The salon is spacious and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Wendy did my regular manicure, she took her time and respected that I did not want my nails filed with the electric file. I know they use these sometimes to clean the cuticle area on your nail bed but I prefer to not have this used. I don't live in the area but if I were to need a regular manicure I'd totally come back. I really hate that I feel the need to post a bad review, especially considering how many businesses are suffering throughout the COVID pandemic. However, my service today was really poor. I came in today after my honeymoon to soak acrylic tips off and have my real nails cleaned up. Soaking took a long time--that's fine and expected. A different woman took over to finish the job, and I felt like she thought I was finished right after soaking...I re-explained that I'd like them re-shaped and made smooth, as I'm a nurse and need them functional for patient care. I replied yes when she asked if I wanted a manicure (no polish). I didn't realize she was being rough/careless---I've been extra exhausted lately and my skin was very soft after soaking for a long time---but if you look at the photos from an hour later, you can see that she filed/buffed skin off in several areas (also on my left pinky, I noticed). It's painful, and now I have to go back to work at my hospital with open cuts. To add, she cut cuticles on three fingers and then told me I was finished. She wasn't looking at my hands when she was filing/buffing, so that might explain the cuts. I cleaned my OWN nails off multiple times with hot towels, but maybe that's part of new COVID protocol. All of my nails are different lengths now. I had to take out my own rotary manicure tool at home today and redo them because my jagged nails were catching on everything. Minimum effort was put into the service I received overall. Exhausted as I am, I still smiled, tipped well, thanked the nail artist, etc. I don't know. I can't expect others to put in the same amount of effort into their work as I do for my patients, but I would have appreciated more effort for a service I paid for. I hate saying this, but don't spend your money here. Save it for a salon that acts like they actually want the money. read more

Average nail salon but better than the other 3 in this neighborhood as far as cleanliness goes. I got a gel manicure and my experience wasn't the best I've ever had but it wasn't the worst either. My nail tech came off as inexperienced. She didn't do a great job at filing or polishing and the gel is super thick. Gel polish for me is usually intact for 1.5 weeks before it starts lifting but I don't foresee this manicure lasting that long. I might consider coming here again but with a different nail tech. For now I'll just stick with painting my own nails and like I usually do. read more

Well for starters this place is based solely off a walk in bases which can be incredibly dreadful for customers and employees. I've been here twice and both times the wait was over an hour or two. During my first visit I couldn't wait and left, the second visit I stood and I waited my turn. So here it is ... my dreadful experience.. the only reason I waited almost two hours was because my friend was already getting her nails done. So in the mean time (I guess to kill time) they put my nails to soak off the SNS I already had on my nails, however I was left soaking for almost an hour and I'm no nail technician but I'm pretty sure soaking in acetone for almost an hour can't be good for your nails. Then after soaking they almost forgot about me and was ready to take the next person until I spoke up. This place may have decent technicians but they highly lack PROFESSIONALISM. read more

I was excited to see a nail salon closer to my home. Upon visiting this location, I was so impressed by its cleanliness and friendly staff- however- the positive ends here. The service is very much rushed. Seems that they put more care into people coming in for acrylic nails than those getting a regular mani+pedi. The girls try to bombard you with getting one of the specialty spa pedicures which are also mediocre compared to other salons. The pedicure is far below average as is the 2minute manicure. Sad to say that I will no longer be coming to Ballet Nail Salon even though it is a 2 minute walk from me. I was ecstatic when they first opened up but didn't write a review to see if they maintain the good work. Unfortunately, they did not. They do not take appointments. Very inconvenient since I have acrylics and it's always someone different and am not able to request the same person. I went in to get my nails done and they weren't able to accommodate me because the wait was too long so I left and came in the next morning. As I was getting my nails done, there was a rude customer rushing my nail technician so he actually started rushing and messing up my nails and hurting me! I already wasn't seen the day before and now I'm getting amateur treatment because someone else is rushing? NO. My nails were not smoothed out so you can visibly see the rough surface through the nail polish. This was not the first time that I leave the salon unhappy but it is definitely the last. read more

3 strikes you're out! I really wanted to like this place since it's conveniently a couple of blocks from home. They have a wonderful color selection and seems clean. However, they have issues they need to work out. One, they are so overzealous with the electric nail file so much that I could feel the burn on my nails themselves. Second, they are in such a rush that they nick your skin and say sorry but laugh (what's that about?). Third, if I choose a spa pedicure it should feel a little spa like. It's so rushed, there is no time to enjoy it at all. Fourth, the music played sucks! Turn on the huge tv to drown out the awful karaoke-like music. I hardly ever leave reviews. I went to this nail salon since it just opened up and since all the other nail salons in the neighborhood are horrible. The place is super clean with many nail technicians available. The customer service is superior. The have rows and rows of gel nail polish available. I love the fact that they have OPI gel nail polish and that is the reason I am writing this review. They use very good products and not the cheap ones like the other salons in the neighborhood use. Extremely unwelcoming employees don't greet customers upon arrival. My temperature was taken after sitting there for 15 minutes an we are in the middle of a pandemic. Schedule appointments aren't kept. I had a pedi and a mani and the lady doing my manicure almost ripped off my entire nail and she gave me attitude because I told her to stop. My nail was bleeding she just walked away. To top it off she used a metrocard to remove the nail tip. I am considering legal action against this salon. The prices are way to high you will be charged to remove nail polish and to cut the nails. I won't ever return to this nail salon. I also waited two hours for service. read more

This place can get very crowded. I love when I bring my son and he wakes up, how the ladies cheer him on and play with him so that I can get my nails done in peace. They're very helpful and I appreciate that. My gel color cell off after 1-2 days after I gqot them done but they kindly redid them and the color stood on for 2 weeks.
