Later in the day, after the contractor had left, I…read morewas taking my recycle bin out to the street for pickup and saw where some water or other fluid was dumped in the gravel of the landscaping we just had done a few months ago. I don't know what chemicals etc. are in the water that was dumped but the fluid was dumped right next to fairly new plants and left an unsightly hole in the gravel. Further, I don't know what if any harm may be done to the new plants. I have ZERO tolerance for contractors who act disrespectfully towards the property where they're working. The place where the water was dumped was just a couple of feet from the driveway. If the water was dumped in the driveway, it would run down to the curb and follow the slope of the street as drainage and NOT risk any harm being done to our new plants. If we notice any adverse changes to our plants, there will be some follow-on activity with P&L. Just careless. I have to admit that I am skeptical of any company that provides "virtual quotes" without seeing the work site for themselves. But they requested a couple of pictures of old water heater installation to assess the job, provided a quote "sight unseen", and did the work with no extra cost added (always a concern with virtual quotes). They were the cheapest of the 3 bids that I got. No long-winded sales pitch that I should install a $5K tankless unit. The tech provided instructions on the annual flushing process. I'm satisfied. I'm hoping that at last I have a go-to plumber.

I declined the service as it was over $1k and I am handy and purchased a spare on supply house just in case. But they have a great deal if you want spring and fall checkups for a reasonable price. For $19 a month they come twice a year for the heating in fall and cooling in spring, which also includes a weather heater flush. These are definitely worth the cost so I set it up. This price also includes priority repair and a 10% discount on parts and labor I believe if you're needing work done. If you are on aren't mechanically inclined, these guys have you covered.

I had a brand new unit installed march 2025…read more The first time I changed my filter there was all kinds of debris left up there and I noticed air was escaping from around the handler. I had them come back to clean it and they sealed the area that the installer forgot to do. Prior to that, there were little flakes of black ash left all over my walls from when he cut through metal. I ended up cleaning it myself. About 2 weeks ago, I saw something in my vent. It was a wad of the tape they used to tape the hole they made in the metal wall. July 2026 they had to come out because it was blowing warm air. Told me it was a surge. Sold me a surge protector for $477. The next day same thing happened. Started blowing warm air at around 2pm. Adjusted the sub cooling and cleaned the coils. Prior to this, they came out in March for my spring maintenance. Didn't they bother to clean the coils then? Also, during the spring checkup the technician didn't put his ladder at the correct angle. It slipped and made a hole in my wall which they did fix but my picture frame was broken and they didn't replace it. July 25 or 26 I called the office because I was supposed to receive the info to register the surge protector online. She said someone would call me Monday. It's now two weeks later and still no effing call. I've had it with them. I'm calling one more time to provide the info. Next, I'm going to have a different company come out to inspect the installation because I no longer trust their work.

Their quote was fair and in line with market pricing, and they offered financing that made the expense manageable. They walked my tenant through how to use the new system, kept a portable AC on hand so we weren't without cooling in the meantime, and answered every question I had along the way. After talking everything through, he made time on his schedule for the very next day. He serviced the unit, fixed a code-compliance issue, and even gave us a second opinion on an A/C repair that a larger company claimed was "unavoidable." Turns out that larger company was simply not telling the truth. They gave us information that was impossible given the actual setup of the unit in our attic, recommendations that would have led to an unnecessary A/C replacement. None of it was needed. All the system required was a bit of TLC and someone who truly understands what they're doing. What a value add. Needless to say, the BBB received an email about that other company, and John will be our go-to from now on. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

We also enrolled in their Preventative Maintenance Program, which included a 27-point spring tune-up and a 32-point fall tune-up. We faithfully paid for and completed these twice-yearly maintenance visits from 2017 through 2025. On June 2, 2025, Rescue One Air performed one of our scheduled tune-ups. At the time, the unit was making a loud squealing noise. The technician completed the inspection covered under our maintenance plan and told us he found no concerns with the unit or the attic equipment. He needed additional parts to fix the squealing issue, so a follow-up appointment was scheduled for June 5, when the repair was completed. On the morning of June 7, 2025, our master bedroom closet ceiling caved in. The drywall and insulation were soaked and moldy, and water continued dripping from the attic. I immediately called Rescue One Air, and they sent a technician within about two hours. The technician showed me a PVC pipe from the attic AC equipment that had no glue or sealant on the connection. He explained that the pipe had not been properly sealed and that it had been slowly leaking over time until the water-soaked insulation became heavy enough for the ceiling to collapse. After paying for Rescue One's maintenance program for nine years--and having the attic equipment inspected twice a year--we were shocked that this had never been identified. The technician told us the issue was Rescue One's responsibility, helped arrange for a remediation company to begin the cleanup and dry-out process, gave us his supervisor's email, and told us the company would reimburse our $1,000 homeowners insurance deductible. That never happened. The damage required insurance, professional remediation, ceiling replacement, insulation replacement, and weeks of repairs. After the repairs were completed, I left multiple voicemail messages and sent numerous emails. Rescue One Air never returned a single call or email. We paid for nine years of preventative maintenance because we believed it would help prevent exactly this kind of expensive property damage. Instead, after a ceiling collapse and significant water damage that their own technician said stemmed from an improperly sealed AC pipe, Rescue One stopped communicating with us entirely. That's what has been the most disappointing part of this experience.

Recently, one of the pipes connected to our water softener in the garage suddenly burst late at night, around 11:00 PM. A large amount of water sprayed everywhere and flooded the garage floor. We contacted two other plumbing companies we found online, but unfortunately, neither of them responded. Thankfully, we found American Plumbing & Rooter. When we called, Rich answered the phone right away and was incredibly helpful. He quickly scheduled an appointment for us, and a plumber arrived at 8:30 the next morning to replace the damaged water softener. We were very impressed with how efficient, friendly, and professional they were. The plumber was patient and took the time to explain why the pipe had burst and gave us very helpful recommendations to prevent similar problems in the future. Their follow-up service was also outstanding. A few days later, Sunday night, we were surprised to discover that we had no hot water. We texted Rich to ask what might have happened, and he responded very quickly. He explained that when the water softener pipe burst, the large amount of water spraying out may have extinguished the pilot light on the nearby water heater. He then patiently walked us through the steps to check it. Sure enough, the pilot light was out, exactly as he had explained. He also guided us step by step on how to relight it, and we were able to get our hot water back. We are extremely happy with the service we received from American Plumbing & Rooter. Their prompt response, professionalism, knowledge, and excellent follow-up service gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend American Plumbing & Rooter.
