And for whatever was above and beyond I paid you for-7K+ * Photos are not pre-existing they are your work + I can post my invoices for the extra work 7K+ would that be better? * Let's talk about the vanity base - When it was first done and the vanity was put back and attached to the wall-there was no baseboard - out of site, out of mind right? You would'nt have known because you never did walk thru to see. The pictures were from how he left it after the second go around-they were never attached to the wall -just pressed up against wall. See attached photos -my current contractor pulled away vanity to reveal that and I was embarrassed. Again no final job walk -I did submit pics under vanity when I couldn't remove and added pics from when he did remove. * Electrician did not damage my ceiling just needed light paint touch up here and there which I did pay for-you didn't do me any favors. Paint job was bad. * You never yelled-really? You did start the conversation with I think you need to find another contractor and when I asked why you started escalation to the point where you knew you were wrong because of how I was responding (Very Upset) and you told me to relax and sit down, and to take a breath. After experiencing water damage, we contacted our insurance company, AAA, who recommended this general contractor. Our adjuster assured us of their credibility, quality work, and vetting process. They also mentioned a generous 5-year workmanship warranty and stated that AAA wouldn't recommend them if they weren't great to work with. It seemed like an dream choice given the stressful situation. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a nightmare. We hired Baldwin Builders for multiple projects, including removing the popcorn ceiling (outside insurance work), painting, installing new kitchen cabinets, and replacing the flooring. Each project had issues, and providing a detailed account would result in an endless review. If you'd like more details, please feel free to reach out. When we raised our concerns with AAA, they essentially dismissed them and put the blame solely on us for choosing the contractor. While we did make the final decision, we wouldn't have done so without AAA's recommendation. The main issue arose with the flooring, almost identical to another Yelp reviewer, Jonna W. The contractor denied responsibility and shifted the blame onto us. Contractor Connection, the service AAA uses to match insurers with trusted contractors, intervened and sent a Crawford property adjuster and independent floor expert to assess the situation. We never asked anyone to forge, lie, or commit fraud. This serious accusation reveals the company's true character. Regarding the flooring install, it's customary to level the floor beforehand as part of necessary prep work. However, we were neither informed nor given the option to have this done. We would have gladly paid out-of-pocket, just like we did when we paid them for popcorn ceiling removal. The kitchen was not designed by my mother, as we were told it had to remain the same. We could remove cabinets but not modify them. Yet, somehow, they managed to measure incorrectly, resulting in a smaller opening which required us to purchase a new, smaller hood range because our old one was too wide. If we were instructed to choose a larger hood range as the owner claimed, then how would it be possible to install it properly when the opening they built was actually smaller than the original size? Finally, due to many issues not getting resolved, we had no choice but to pursue mediation with Contractor Connection as the mediator. Contrary to the owner's belief, multiple parties sent by the mediator, including a property inspector from Crawford & Company and an independent flooring specialist from Floor Detective, confirmed Baldwin Builders' liability due to poor workmanship and installation, which included the use of roofing paper for floor underlayment. I used this company because Automobile Club recommended them. My mom had a water leak at her home that required all new flooring and paint throughout the house. Although the same color paint was used throughout the house, eggshell most places and semigloss in the bathrooms, they used the semigloss to patch up the eggshell leaving shiny spots all over. After I pointed this out when they had done it in one room they said they would fix it, but continued to make the same mistake throughout the entire house. Paint splatters were all over the floor and wood kitchen bar. Most of the house required another coat of eggshell to cover the semigloss patches. I had to retrieve the wood living room blinds after they threw them into the trash. They broke a fan by moving an armoire into it. They unsuccessfully tried to fix it twice, my mom had to end up purchasing a new one. A black oily substance was spilled on the floor and onto the armoire. Paint cans were set on top of the patio furniture. A new vanity was installed in a bath, and the counter blocked the shower door from opening. They tried to leave the vanity on little wood blocks and not flush against the wall. Not long after the new floor was installed improperly it started bubbling and the ENTIRE BRAND NEW FLOOR had to be replaced. They tried to blame the plumber who had fixed the leak, but they had failed to put the underlay beneath the new flooring. Then it was discovered that the painters had failed to paint the new baseboards. When they finally finished and left the property, I discovered at least 7 lightbulbs were missing! Using Baldwin Builders was a total disaster, we paid a new company to replace the floor and paint the baseboards and I had to use a mediator to finally get BB to compensate my mom for their errors. read more

I had a roof leak, and Travelers insurance recommended Baldwin Builders. They came out, but their estimate took a very long time, and meanwhile I got other estimates. My contractor friend told me that the repair should cost $4000, but all my other estimates were for around $6000 because roofers were so busy. After waiting two weeks, Baldwin Builders came up with an estimate of $18,000 for exactly the same repair. We used Baldwin Builders to complete our home renovations and asbestos abatement after a fire that began in our garage and traveled into our home. This company was a polar opposite of the horrible contractor that we used to complete our pack out/pack in and contents removal and disposal. Baldwin Builders did a complete and thorough job of everything from drywall, insulation, wiring and electrical. They even repaired wall damage that was carelessly caused by the less than acceptable company completing our pack out (who did some damage to our home that Baldwin Builders repaired at no cost). Baldwin Builders restored our home back to pre fire condition, even securing some updated and improved fixtures and doors due to manufacturer or code upgrades. They also assisted with installing and updating some appliances that were damaged or replaced. In the end, when our home was done, it was in actually better condition than it was pre fire, due to the care and expertise of Tony and his team. The owner, Tony, was thorough and complete and he was communicating throughout the renovation process. After this repair, we hired Baldwin Builders to update and upgrade our deck and have used their plumbing and electrical sub contractors for other work.
