We love KB Construction Company! Ian Pursell and Vincent Gavcus were our primary contacts and they were phenomenal! A tree fell on our one hundred year old house in February of 2024, damaging the roof, gutters, plaster, paint, windows, brick wall, chimney, bathroom, and interior floors and bookshelves. Our insurance company, USAA, recommended KB Construction. They came out the next morning to tarp the roof and then proceeded to complete all of the repairs over the next year. Our main contact at KB was Ian Pursell who was very skilled at negotiating with the insurance company as we discovered more damage throughout the project. They were superstars every step of the way: reliable, organized, communicative, honest, cheerful, industrious, clean, and detailed. Their workmanship is outstanding and their ability to coordinate the work and get it done quickly is just exceptional. I was in a tough situation--new house, shellshocked first time home owner, and the old refrigerator of the previous owner suddenly flooded my kitchen totally ruining the real hardwood floors and the dry wall and cabinetry surrounding the refrigerator. This is a high-end house with a lot luxury finishing. First of all, Brian was an invaluable relief to have on my side because he went above and beyond to interface with my insurance company--something that had been causing me a great deal of stress and confusion until he entered the picture. Vince and Angel oversaw and coordinated the demolition of the kitchen, the installation of new floors, the complete sanding and refinishing of the wood floors in the adjacent living room and entry way (beautiful work which matched the adjoining floors perfectly), repainting, ceiling repair, and biggest of all a complete redesign, and remodeling/restoration of my kitchen. The entire job was done without any major delays or issues. If you are considering hiring these guys, I cannot recommend them strongly enough. A restoration/remodel job is stressful and can be a long road but remember it's a two way street and somewhat of a collaboration when you get into a big project like this so BE PATIENT and know that you can TRUST their work. Vince and Jesus are an amazing team and did an incredible job. Our ceiling started forming cracks along the drywall and they came in and within 5 days had replaced the bad panels, taped, mudded and painted the entire ceiling. They even went above and beyond and repainted all the walls and baseboards in the room. Once they finished, they put all the furniture back in the exact same spot it was when they arrived. Had leaks in my room from the winter storm in 2022-2023 and was recommended to call them. First a guy name Paul came and took pictures of everything and gave us hope that they would take care of everything as soon as possible. For almost 3-4 months they never followed up OR had the time to pick up the phone to explain why there was a hold up in the work. The secretary who we finally got a hold of after countless phone calls was rude AND completely clueless on what was going on. Failed inspections after failed inspections for very simple fixes. Decided to write a review. My insurance company referred few contractors including KB to repair a damaged garage wall. It turned out the experience by letting KB to do the repair was incredibly frustrating. They basically did not know much about structural repair. Poor workmanship, tried to cut every corner to do a crappy job. The garage door safety sensor wire was damaged during their repair, KB denied the responsibility of their negligent and told me to have my insurance to pay for the damage. After another major home repair, I called our home insurance and without hesitation I asked for their approval to use KB Construction for a second time! They confirmed that KB is still on their recommended list as well! Rick handled estimation details, was clear about what work will need to be estimated and completed (which was replacing all our vinyl floors/baseboards and drywall repair). He handled all the communication with the insurance and third party contractor services. Vince also coordinated the project and was awesome with scheduling and working around my schedule. Angel and his crew really did a fine job. Taking time to pay attention to detail with baseboards, laying the flooring down. Angel was able to find our existing flooring, and walked me through decisions. His team also caught a huge defect with the manufacturer's flooring products. They promptly found a solution, drove to find better product, and redid all their work to make sure it was professional, minimizing my stress. Angel made sure to have the appropriate amount of crew to try and get the job done and not leave us waiting. They all always showed up on time, always respectful of our space. Construction can be tricky to find reliable services so I always like to recommend when I can to any homeowner.
