Assorted mini Mexican breads and cookies . Perfect size for kids , large events and celebrations !
S Lola L.

My daughters school celebration was catered with the mini pastries and cookies . Wonderful selections !!! We ordered 100 pieces and gave a week advance notice at least . The girl at the counter is super helpful . My kid's school loved the assorted Mexican breads and cookies.

Pan de muerto

I usually come here for bread on dia de los muertos and dia de los reyes. The bread is delicious and worth the price. As other people have mentioned, the customer service is okay but not great. And yes every time I have gone the lady that works at the register is talking on the phone or talking to other people. Aside from that I would recommend this place.

Homemade chorizo from their delli.

Love this place so much!! It's owned by a local family who are always there running the shop…read morewhenever I stop by, and that really comes through in both the service and overall feel of the place. Both the sweet and savory pies are delicious, and I like that they rotate their menu with a mix of classic and more unique flavors. It makes it fun to keep coming back and trying something new. Some of my favorites over time have been the chocolate chess, cheeseburger, and berry custard pies. All very different, but all really good in their own way. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for pie!! There are honestly not a lot of places around that you can get crafted pies from, so I think they fill a niche market here - a market that I am certainly a part of.

4.5 stars Small shop…read moreand no pies were on display when I was there. Just trust that you'll get a good tasting pie. I got their chicken bacon hand pie. It was nice and warm. Tastes like how a pot pie should be. It was great on the go since I was chowing it down while driving to my next destination. I got some slices for myself to try, French silk chocolate was good. Unfortunately, it was melting (my bad) when I finally got to eat it. Chocolate whole pie for others. Got other slices for friends to try and they enjoyed it. Pandan had a nice flavor, they don't use extract which is even better. Lemon chess was good - great lemon flavor and creamy. Will need to get French silk again to eat it as soon as possible or keep in fridge when ready to eat, haha.

Update: Tried the date cake this morning and it turned out…read moreto be the standout from yesterday's haul -- well done! The cake itself is delicious, but what makes it interesting is the type of fruit they use -- not Medjool or the usual Middle Eastern dates, but jujube (often called Chinese dates). That choice gives the cake a gentle sweetness with a subtle smoky note that sets it apart. Feb 21: For our first visit, we ordered quite a spread: the chocolate mochi bun, honey osmanthus cake, jujube cake, a loaf of chocolate bread (because there's no such thing as too much chocolate), and the pork floss with salted egg bread. The concept behind the pastries was appealing, which explains why we bought so much on our first trip. That said, the execution felt a little uneven. The osmanthus notes in the honey osmanthus cake didn't quite come through, the chocolate bun lacked depth of flavor, and the pork floss with salted egg bread turned slightly burnt even though we followed the heating instructions. Still, we were glad to have discovered the bakery. It's definitely worth a try.

I decided on the taro cheesecake. On the counter there were more bread-like products such as matcha loaf and more items with pork floss. I chose the red bean loaf. The red bean loaf was what I expected. It was like many other red bean loaf. The taro cheesecake were bite size. It wasnt sweet or dull. The taro seemed like real taro. It was more of a sandwich than a traditional cheesecake slice. Overall, I could see someone returning for their more savory items. My first impression and experience arent enough to drive myself to be curious for wanting more. P.S. egg tarts are available saturday and sundays

I finally got to try this Fremont staple for the first time after everyone and their moms…read morerecommended it. Immediately upon entry, you can see the huge display of neatly arranged donuts, malasadas, and pastries and they all look amazing! So many flavors to choose from that it was a little overwhelming. As others have said, the price point is around $5.50 per piece so have that in mind going in. Ordering was simple enough and servers were kind and patient. Parking is maximum 3 hours and there are some tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy your goodies. Overall, I think I'm still going to stay loyal to Doughweime in Union City, but these malasadas do live up to the hype. Everything bagel malasada: Surprisingly really good, a light cream cheese filling with everything bagel seasoning on the outside. And the texture of the savory donut was crispy and airy. 9/10 Strawberry cream malasada: Kind of plain, would've been good with strawberry bits inside. 7/10 Biscoff cream malasada: You can taste the real Biscoff crackers in the filling. 7.5/10

In my opinion, this 85 Degrees C Bakery in Newark, CA is still one of the better bakeries around…read morehere and much better than South Bay Area locations. I remembered visiting on their very first grand opening a long time ago before the chain expanded to other locations. Good cashier service and pastries are always fully stocked here. Area is clean and modern. Cakes are all good looking at decent prices. I can't say the same about other locations though. This one is spacious with tables and chairs inside. Wide varieties of options to choose from. I stopped by for my regular iced cold Tiger boba latte medium size cup for $4.90. Note: my cup looked very small compared to what I'm used to getting. Did the medium sized cups shrink? The lady probably used the wrong cup size, but I'm having a good morning, so not sweating about it. However, I can easily buy beautiful and delicious slices of cakes for around or under $5 each. No lines and no crowds after 10am on a Thursday morning. Staff was helpful at front counter. The place is still much better than other retail spaces. It's a good feeling inside. I'm glad I was able to make another quick stop here. This 85 Degrees C Bakery is definitely the better place.

They even had more fresh pastries and options available than in Fremont. The kiosk was easy to order and you can scan the your rewards from the 85C app to collect more points. It took about 15 minutes to wait for my order. I got the Strawberry sea salt tea and strawberry matcha latte with oat milk alternative (no extra charge). The matcha wasn't strong but the sea salt one had more tea flavor which I liked since it's less sweet. The barista was kind to show me all the limited edition magnets to pick from. They're all so cute, but I had to choose one per two drinks. Definitely worth coming back to this original location even though it's a bit of a drive.
