Went here for lunch. Worst lunch ever. Maybe the breakfast is good but don't try the lunch. The soup of the day was French Onion - my favorite! This was a cup with a slice of cheese on the bottom covered with raw onions and bouillon and topped off with croutons! And it was lukewarm. My husband got a BLT. He had to take off the tomato and there was no mayo on it. I complained about the soup and they took the charge off the bill so there is that. read more

Was looking forward to great service and food based on other reviews & decided to give this place a try. Was disappointed from the start. We were told we would be seated in 5-10 minutes but my husband and I waited almost 30 minutes to be seated. We placed our orders around 10 minutes after being seated but our food didn't come til almost an hour later. We sat there so long we watched people seated after us (with a different waiter) order eat and leave. As soon as we were about to get up and leave our waiter comes and tells us there was a problem with the printer and our order never was put through (honestly I think he just forgot). So now we've been here for like an hour & 30 minutes with no food. Our food finally comes and my husband enjoyed his but the chicken from the chicken and waffles was so bland. The whole experience was very upsetting, maybe our expectations were set too high. They did end up taking 50% off of our bill for our wait. Also, the staff was very friendly so that was a plus. We will try again maybe for dinner and hopefully have a better experience. read more

Not very good, really. The home fries are tasteless cubes of fried something that may or may not be potato. The eggs were good and so was the bacon. The coffee was only ok and they don't serve cream or milk, just plastic cups of chemical creamer that require no refrigeration. There is also no butter-- just plastic containers of "buttery spread." They do not bake bread here, but they do offer super sweet fat- laden items. The sweet potato muffin was ok but also very sweet. The toast was tasteless. Go somewhere else. read more

Read the reviews on here, so I decided to eat breakfast here. The place was decorated nice w/ your usual coffee/bfast decor. I liked their red coffee cups. The coffee was a light roast so not strong enough for me. I ordered the "Bun & Sum"; 2 eggs over easy, bacon & a cinnamon roll. I asked for my bacon to be medium soft not crispy. When I got it, it was hard and cold. The smokey flavor was the only thing good about it. The cinnamon roll was cut in half and barely warm?! Really?! We have eaten here a few times, my husband loves the french toast and syrup. The food is nothing special. All things that can be made from home, but it is nice to go out. The thing that makes me hate this place is the service. There is a specific waitress who is rude to all her customers and just doesn't seem to like her job. You also never know how your food will come out depending on who is serving you. The pastry items may or may not be heated up, you may get them before you eat or after, and on occasion, you might not even get what you order. My advice to the owners: hire adults and get rid of the young staff! read more

We visited The Baker's Square on a Saturday morning a few months ago after several co-workers recommended it to me. Our party of two was seated right away at about 9 am, which surprised me because I had heard there was often a long wait on the weekends. Not the case when we went, there were several tables open and a few tables just leaving. The decor was very plain and the waiter was very quiet, I don't think he spoke more than 2 or 3 words to us the entire time we dined - not a complaint, just an observation. I ordered a veggie omelet which was very bland and the veggies were undercooked (basically raw). My husband enjoyed his omelet (The Baker's Omelet) which was filled with several different cheeses, meats and vegetables - his veggies were cooked fine, so there was definitely an inconsistency between our two dishes. The omelets each came with a slice of homemade bread which I really enjoyed. We also ordered a cinnamon roll which was about the size of a saucer and very sweet, soft and perfectly delicious - highly recommend if you're into super-sweet, cinnamon breakfast pastries - but do yourself a favor and split it with someone you like. I think I would have gone into a sugar-coma if I ate the whole thing. Looking back at the reviews, I really wish we had tried the french toast or pancakes (and that's what most people in the restaurant were ordering - they must've been in the know) since that's apparently their claim to fame. We purposefully didn't because I was dying to try the cinnamon roll and I didn't want to overdose on sweet carbs (silly me!!). Even though my husband enjoyed his omelet, it's hard for me to recommend one since mine was so unappetizing. The coffee was of Folgers/Maxwell House quality. Bottom line: Decent local breakfast place, inexpensive prices, unobtrusive service, spotty quality. Try the cinnamon roll. read more

I walked in the door and immediately thought this place was going to serve some wonderful food. although it was busy, my wife and I was seated in less then 10 minutes. The decor and environment, to include the staff, was very pleasant and set the mood just right. I had the country fried steak, eggs over medium, dutch potatoes, and a sweet potato biscuit. This restaurant is so sweet. It's run by Mennonites I believe. (Girls wear dresses and little white caps on there heads). and the food is very fresh and hot every time I've been there. They make there bread and pastries fresh there every morning, so it always smells like your grandmas kitchen. I give this a 5 star, 'cause the chef comes out to greet us each time we go, and the wait staff are quick to fill those coffee cups. They serve Breakfast ,Lunch and dinner but my favorite is the breakfast. They have this syrup butter they make that comes out hot that you drizzle over those GI-NORMOUS pancakes. If you like grits, they have it to. You HAVE to try there Cinnamon rolls or Pecan rolls.That'll jump start your morning for sure. read more
