The electrician that came out was knowledgable and really helpful. He was accomodating and explained everything that he planned on doing. I had two issues that were on the ceiling of a two story house. Most of the others I spoke with were not able to easily accomodate this height but Bakenhus has a portable scaffold that they bring around. Will definitely use them again if needed. read more

This is a good, honest, responsive business offering fair value-- I will continue to use.

Great service. Requested a new lighting in attic, outside lights, can lights, bathroom fans and whole home generator. Quality work. Very good value give a good deal for high quality and friendly service. read more

They will charge you to investigate their own screwups and the quality of work was subpar. They had to be told that they needed to place insulation back in an area that they are completely removed it among other issues read more

Quick and friendly repair service late in the day before a holiday. We are grateful For their responsiveness and expertise.

Outstanding work EVERY time I call them. I have used Bakenhus Electric for several projects around my home in Houston, and when my mother-in-law needed her electrical panel replaced in Baytown she received several absurdly priced quotes from Baytown electricians, so I called Robert and asked if he would help my family in Baytown. They did! Every last thing was handled extremely well, we received a fair price, and their team was extremely kind and respectful to my in-laws. If you don't want to worry about your house, your family, or being treated fairly, call Robert at Bakenhus Electric. read more

Excellent service from Matt. Knowledgeable and detail oriented. Explained everything that was going on and charged a fair price. I will use them again, it's hard to find reliable people that show up in the time window scheduled, they are punctual. Thank you, Bakenhus. read more

Friendly knowledgeable electricians. I've used them several times. Timely and neat. Easy to schedule.

They did our complete renovation and replacement of electrical at our home. This is a great family owned business

Absolutely amazing experience. Team was super respectful and efficient. They installed a chandelier (replacing a recessed light) 12 ft up above my stairs landing. Availability was great and pricing was super reasonable. Will be using Bakenhus for all my electrical needs in the future. read more

Upfront, Hines, good solid work with no bs. The electricians were very professional, knew what they were doing and left my house the way they found it. read more

Robert came out on short notice and fixed our electrical issue quickly & efficiently. Great service & very professional - would highly recommend read more

We had a problem where 10 outlets stopped working, nothing tripped. Turns out it was a loose wire behind one of the outlets on that circuit. Terrell came out, right on the scheduled time, was very friendly and professional. He talked me through it as he was troubleshooting, and he had it diagnosed and fixed in no time. He charged me their minimum fee for coming out, which is less than other electricians have charged us in the past. Good value for the money. I hope to not need them often, but I know who I'll call for any future electrical needs. read more

Robert is very professional and responsive, we hired him to install a main disconnect and 50 amp plug for a generator. His team showed up on time, was efficient, and did great work. We will definitely hire them again! read more

I hate to be the dissenting voice but I trusted all of the great reviews and had them come by to check out a breaker that was getting very hot, identified during a Hope inspection, which far exceeded normal temps. When the guys came they said "well it's not hot now." That's because it wasn't under a load at all. They acted like it was no big deal and I asked them what they thought should be done. The obvious answer would be to put it under a load and troubleshoot from there. But in response to my asking what needs to be done, they shrugged it off and said they could put it under a load and then test to see what it should be vs what it is, but they made it real clear they weren't interested in doing that. It was really clear they didn't have any interest in checking out what the cause was. They were also supposed to get me a quote for additional outlets to be added to the house which I never heard back on. At the end of their visit the guy made sure to point out that he wasn't going to charge me for his apprentices time and expertise. How generous. I will say they were on time and friendly, they just didn't do what needed to be done. read more

Bakenhus was easy to schedule and great service overall. They communicated well which made it easy for me to change my appointment time and they provided a heads up when they were on their way. Jacob and Tyler were both were very professional. They answered all my questions and worked quickly and neatly. Pricing was fair with labor and materials. There is a 1.5 hour minimum but there wasn't a trip charge and was able to use up most of that time. Would highly recommend and would use their services again. read more

I'd like to join my voice to the rest of the people and highly praise Bakenhus Electric and especially Eric and his helper in training David. They came first thing in the morning the next day after I called, were friendly, polite, professional and highly knowledgable. I had a not so common electrical installation and they were able to fix every single issue I throw at them, very quickly, and at a decent price. I will call them again, without any hesitation should I need their service in the future. Everything was FIVE-STARS! read more

Bakenhaus was very professional and well priced. I called for an estimate, and was given a rough estimate, after sending images. I had them install a plug in for a Level 2 Tesla charger. Other companies wanted to charge me extra, because it was a Tesla or tell me that it would require extra work. The workers came and installed the plug in, during a 30 minute work call. They charged my card on their phone and everything was good to go! Great service for a great price! They are a very neighborly and professional business. read more

These guys are first class!! Good prices, excellent service and would highly recommend!! read more

Every time we've used these guys, they have been great. They are polite, conscientious, clean, hard working, on time (often early), and they do the job like you'd want to do it if you did it yourself. I hope we don't need them again, but if we do, we will not hesitate to call them. read more

Second time using them. On time. professional. Friendly efficient and fair prices!! What timer can I say. Eric is GREAT!!

Highly professional local business. They did an assortment of work at our house and Robert's expertise on the phone was of great help. He sent an electrician and an apprentice to complete the jobs and they were both highly professional, knowledgeable, good guys. They got straight to work and did quality work. Could not recommend Bakenhaus Electric more...there is a reason people have been using them for so long. read more

First time using Bakenhus Electric and will highly recommend them to friends/family. Hayden and David G. arrived precisely on time at 7:45am, were polite and professional, and corrected the problem for a fair price. Couldn't be more pleased. read more

Referred to these guys by a dear friend who had seen strong recommendations on our neighborhood Facebook page. Part of my power was out and my breakers would not trip back into place. They came out within a couple of hours of my call, fixed the problem and didn't charge me near what I was quoted over the phone. Great experience and they have a customer for life! read more

We used Bakenhus from Yelp recommendations and they lived up to their rating. We needed canned lighting put in in three rooms, bring all kitchen/wet areas up to code with GFCI outlets, and bunch of smaller odd jobs to make the house we bought safer and more convenient. Robert (owner?) came out to survey everything. I told him what I wanted and he was able to recommend a bunch of things I hadn't thought of which was great. They did the work at a reasonable price, though be warned they are not the cheapest, but I you get what you pay for. We made a couple changes to our kitchen after the work was done, and they came back to adjust a couple of things for us at no charge which was nice. I'd give them a 4.8 if I could, for one weird decision which was made where an outlet right next to a timer switch controlling a water feature outside was also on the timer, so anything plugged into it (our TV system) would work only a few hours a day. Again, they happily came out to correct it free of charge. Highly recommended. read more

Customer for life. We decided to replace our dishwasher on our own but when we saw the previous electrical work and could smell melting plastic we knew we needed a professional to do it right. Robert came right out and disconnected the old washer then connected our new one which is now up to code. Living in an older home with old wiring has made me conscious of the fire hazard and I'm so glad to have found a reliable electrician. They are friendly and prompt and I will not hesitate recommending them to family and friends for home or business electrical work. read more

Great company! Highly professional, worked quickly, and very reasonably priced. Plus they are local, right in my neighborhood! I feel like I found my forever electricians and will never use anybody else. read more

Robert came by 15 mins early (after business hours as well!) and took a look at the lighting issue we were having. He spent an hour here, even crawled in the attic a bit, and fixed the problem. He says he didn't change anything to make it work, but I surely did my diy testing before calling him. He was also really cool with my 5-year old son all up in his business. As he grabbed his ladder to leave, I asked him, checkbook in hand - "what's the damage?" NO CHARGE. Customer for life. Thanks Robert. read more

We recently had the need for a light fixture to be replaced in our master bath shower. Living in an older home in Shepherd Park Plaza, we discovered the fixture was burned out and beyond my DIY abilities. We found multiple good reviews on Yelp and Neighborhood reviews for Backenhus Electric. Called them on Tue afternoon, they were able to schedule a time on Thu afternoon. The electrician they sent out, Eric was nothing short of awesome...on time, professional, courteous and efficient. He fixed the light quickly, and we added some extra work of an outlet that needed replaced. He was honest, earnest and a pleasure to do business with, and the cost was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend them and will use them for any future needs! Awesome job, thank you!! read more

Great service, fast, reasonably priced. Replaced an exhaust fan and two light fixtures. Definitely will use again.

CenterPoint Energy contractor performed maintenance on our smart meter late one afternoon, found a burnt wire from the meter to the breaker box. CenterPoint pulled our meter leaving us without electricity in the middle of summer. Robert answered my frantic telephone call and said he would have someone out first thing in the morning. He pulled the required City permit and had the repairs done and brought the riser up to code the next day and CenterPoint restored the electricity. Geoff, the electrician and his assistant showed up by 8 AM the next morning, were very polite and hard working. We will definitely used them again. Anthony Bacarisse read more

You won't find a better electrician! Call Robert Bakenhus if you want quality work at a reasonable price!

Would definitely recommend! We were having several issues around our house and feared a major electrical problem. They came out and examined everything thoroughly and determined it was actually just a few small problems. They fixed them immediately and for a very fair price! Both men were very friendly and professional. read more

Love these guys! We found Bakenhus here on Yelp while we lived in Oak Forest and since they were so close it made sense to give them a try. They are always on time, very competitive rates, and are just all around really nice guys. We have been calling on them for 4 years now and have never been disappointed. Even when we moved out here to Richmond they still come all the way out here whenever we need them. We are customers for life! read more

Outstanding service. Robert went out of his way to explain and make us feel at ease. If you want a family feel from an electrician go with these guys. read more

Very nice company! I had the kitchen switch plastic break off, so I looked on yelp for an electrician. Every other electrician I contacted wanted WAAAY more money. Robert, the owner, called me back with an extremely reasonable price. He sent Eric over with an apprentice- who took about 10 minutes to replace the switch. He was extremely nice and professional. We will for sure use them from now on. Previously, we had used ABC, but their prices are CRAZY for everything! read more

Great company! I called and left a message about some outlets we needed grounded and Robert called back the same day. He came right out to take a look at what needed to be done (and actually fixed a minor electrical issue with the oven while he was here). He set up an appointment for his guys to come out and ground the outlets a few days later. They showed up right on time, were professional, efficient, and even cleaned up any messes they left behind. I would definitely recommend this company if you need any electrical work done. read more

The technicians just left after replacing a fluorescent light fixture and checking a faulty ceiling fan fixture. They were very professional, on time, polite, and honest. They even did a great job vacuuming up after they finished the work (something the last electricians I used didn't do). I really appreciated how professional they were. I am having them come back out to install a ceiling fan to replace the one that couldn't be repaired. I definitely recommend Bakenhus. read more

Best experience I've ever had with an electrical repair company! It's that time of year when you string Christmas lights in ways that you shouldn't! I didn't tape the final exposed ends and when the sprinkler system came on, it shorted the outside GFCI outlet. I spoke to the owner, Robert, who sent over Eric with his apprentice, Markece, the very same day. Both gentlemen were very nice and professional. They checked out the issue and replaced the GFCI outlet. Lights are now back on! The price was very reasonable and was half of what another company quoted. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again! read more

While it took a few phone calls to set up a time for our non-urgent electrical needs, we were happy with the service we received once we were actually able to schedule an appointment. The guys were friendly, and they worked quickly and efficiently. They went above and beyond to tighten all of the loose screws on our ceiling fans while they were checking them out. We thought the price for the services we received were quite reasonable and we would use Bakenhus again. read more
