The customer service here is exceptional and the food is good and affordable. I had a couple tacos which weren't worth taking a photo but tasted good. There is easy parking and Vons is next door which is convenient. It's better than Taco Bell and chipotle and a healthy choice in my opinion.

Chile Chili Lime Salad

I had a mishap with my online order. I was really craving a shrimp salad but received a salad delivery with no shrimp and with cheese (when I had asked for none). I called in and let them know my order was wrong. Santiago went above and beyond and he hand delivered the correct order for me. Thank you so much for the great service!

I ordered the limited time BBQ chicken burrito. It has good flavor and is not overly spicy. BUT... it's the kind of spicy that accumulates where by the end of the burrito it is spicier and harder to enjoy. The burrito was enormous so you get your money's worth. Elote on the side and it was a good meal. The cashier was friendly and the service was quick. No complaints here. The location was clean bright so the ambience was nice. We took the food to go but I liked the vibe.

Burrito Ultimo with chicken

Baja Fresh is one of my top choices for fast(ish) food that is on the healthier side. Today I had the Ultimo Burrito with chicken. The chicken and shrimp options are always reliably good--juicy and not dry/over cooked. My favorite options other than burritos are their chili lime salad with shrimp or their taco plates with grilled or fried fish

This is one of my favorite fast food Mexican spots. The tortilla chips served with your entree are always warm out of the fryer(?) and not stale from a bag. It also had a generous self serve salsa bar with a wide variety of flavors to choose from like pico de gallo, which they do not offer at Rubio's. Alas, the self serve salsa bar is a victim of the pandemic and still not available as of 11/2021. Nonetheless, Baja Fresh continues to be one of my guilty pleasures. Parking: The restaurant is in a shopping plaza with a large parking lot but parking is scarcer. There is a front and back entrance.

Shrimp still attached to skewer wrapped into the burrito!
Carol T.

Been going to this location for over 10 years. Never had a problem. Also done DoorDash orders with no issues. But today was my lucky day! The shrimp in the burrito was still attached to the skewer. Luckily didn't pierce the roof of the mouth, but his teeth hurt. Oh and the large salsa that comes with the chip order had gone bad! Yay me!

I want to cry out Texas larp, but I'm just being a funny little guy. My friend wanted to try the Parachute taco as it's a Hayley Williams collaboration item. It's neat because $1 from each taco benefits the Immigrant Defenders Law Center, so I'm glad that our super late night dinner had some overall meaning to it. Since they also serve breakfast dishes here, I'm feeling like it's more of a brunch place as this location closes at 9 PM. Not for the late night alchies people. We ordered online and everything was ready super fast for us. Just a note, that Parachute taco was on the mobile order, but strangely not on the menu on the website. They also ask you several times regarding salsa so make sure you get extra for free (red and green salsa in small sauce containers). Not super spicy in the slightest, but adds another layer of fresh acidic taste. I'm used to red sauce being searingly spicy, but not the case here. This location can be a bit easy to miss since it's on a main street and the turn in can get a bit tight. But you can always get street parking. No issues since we went right before they closed, but it looks like it can get really packed and tight around breakfast/brunch time. It's a very chill and relax ambience. Welcoming and warm. The outdoor area is very well lit and nice in the evening. Loved the lemon tree and I think the olive tree that they had there too. It's vibes as they say. PRO-TIP: Get the corn tortillas. You can taste the delicious corn flavor of the dough. For our dinner, we got the: 1) The Parachute by Hayley Williams: -The reason why we visited and surprisingly the best of the three. A huge surprise since it was the only one we ordered without meat. -This taco comes with mushrooms, black beans, lettuce, tortilla strips, Monterey jack cheese, and tomatillo ranch. -Creaminess from the cheese, slight chew from the mushrooms with a roasted taste, love the crunch from the tortilla strips, and everything came together really nicely. 2) Vaquero: -This comes with brisket, pickled jalapenos, onions, cilantro and lime. This was the one my friend and I both were eyeing as an additional taco. -It was sadly the most disappointing of the three. You'd think with all those toppings inside, it'd be more flavorful. Sadly not. -The brisket was dry and both of us used the most of the salsa on this taco in particular. I'd skip this one. 3) Forth Worth by Leon Bridges: -As a mild neurotic person, I don't listen to music that much, so I have no idea who this is, but I chose this taco since it had chicken and it's a different protein from the rest of the tacos. -This was the most stacked of the bunch, filled to the brim with ingredients and by virtue of that, the most messiest. Have lots of napkins on hand. -This comes with slightly spicy chicken (moist and yummy), bacon, pickled jalapenos, pico de gallo, lettuce, and tomatillo ranch. -I actually liked the bacon in this taco, slight crispiness with some of the rich fatty bits of bacon thrown in too. It's not just lazy bacon bits tossed in. Overall not bad! The tacos weren't the most visually appealing and a bit messy, so FYI. Overall not bad and it goes to a good cause. It's not the most authentic best tacos out there (for that I'd just go to a street stall, but it's great for the more unique combinations).

This was actually our second attempt, the first time we showed up on a Saturday afternoon they were closed, despite their online hours saying otherwise. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back. Service was okay. The food? Disappointing. The shrimp cocktail was the whole reason we made the trip. It tasted watered down, had no seasoning, no lemon, and still had shell on the shrimp. It genuinely tasted like a pre-made Costco cocktail in red dyed water. The fajita plate (shrimp, beef, and chicken) was passable but nothing special. What really ended it for us were the hidden fees. We ordered the fajita plate $30 (+ taxes) a massive spread with a separate plate of rice and beans and they brought out THREE corn tortillas. THREE... I am Mexican. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime and have never been given only three tortillas for a plate that size. We asked for more tortillas and were charged $4 with zero warning. It's not about the money it's the principle. The charge was never disclosed. When I brought it up with the owner, Lupita, she was dismissive and couldn't explain the reasoning it's not even homemade tortillas. You can literally buy 90 tortillas for $4 at a grocery store! She took off one of the charges but kept the other $2. Meanwhile, they offer unlimited chips and complimentary salsa without blinking. The inconsistency is baffling. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. Their pozole is outstanding too. We found them on our first failed attempt to come here and we'll be going back to them exclusively from now on. We will never return to Lupita's and made it clear to not go there in our community thread with 15K people. Unless you like hidden fees and mediocre tasteless overpriced food then this is your place otherwise...don't come here.

It is often very busy with regular customers as well as people visiting Pasadena and discovering this cherished establishment. When you first walk in the front door, you are greeted by a staff member eager to help you make your choices among their incredible food. After showing us specials, we were given the extensive printed menu. We asked a number of questions about some of the more popular items. We were given information as to how each item was made and flavored. While we were talking, we could hear the kitchen putting together food items for pickup and delivery. After some discussion we decided to order some food to eat while waiting for our take-home order. It was happy hour so we ordered a Pacifico beer and some taquitos with chips and salsa. We chose a table in an adjacent table-filled room. This room had a great ambiance. The chips and salsa and the taquitos were great. I enjoyed the fresh, warm chips that had great flavor. It was a quiet time of day right before the evening rush, so there were only a few tables occupied. The super burrito and chimichang were filled with flavor and more than one meal. They tasted great and each item was packed with precision and care. The nachos were incredible. Warm, filled with flavor and packed with toppings and cheese. Small intimate outside seating with umbrellas. Parking is difficult but there is a nearby parking structure.

I noticed some gentleman sitting outside and I thought, what the heck, I haven't had Mexican in a minute. I ordered an Al Pastor, and a Shrimp taco. I appreciated the fact that they were not served soggy and falling apart . When the gentleman that took my order suggested the shrimp taco I was a little skeptical. Why? Well, it was my first time having a saucy tomato based shrimp taco. Surprisingly enough, it was actually very good. It was seasoned perfectly. The Al Pastor was overcooked, so it kind of threw me off. It is one of those spots that appear to have a lot of regulars. It also looks as if the restaurant has been around for a while. It could use some tidying up, but it wasn't so bad that I was turned off. The menu is vast, so if you visit and you're in a rush, you may want to take the time to see if they have a menu online to review before arriving. There are 67 items on the main menu. I didn't feel like going through everything so I kind of defaulted my order. Based on the fact that there was a pretty consistent flow of customers in my few minutes there, "they must be doing something right." I would say it's worth a visit, and I can see myself trying them again.

Parking is in parking structures throughout this area but watch out for the one way streets. They do not validate. Parking is cheap though. Started off with the calamari, oysters aguachile and guacamole. Calamari - My favorite of the appetizers. Very lightly breaded. Not overcooked. Small but shareable amount. The red bell pepper sauce dressed underneath is deep in flavor. This was a solid dish. Guacamole - Now being a guac connoisseur I found this guac pleasant. Creamy, a little limey, good flavors. Topped with cotija and I'm pretty sure cotija was present within the guac mix itself. Nice touch. Could have used a little heat tho. Plantains ehhhh were okay. Even though the tostadas were thinner I preferred those over the plantains. Oysters Aguachile - Aight. Fresh. Aguachile mix on top could have had some heat and more true aguachile notes like cilantro, onion. But still fresh and a nice appetizer. Arrachera (skirt steak) - Delicious. Definitely a big plate. I opted for veggie mix instead of the rice to go for more low carb. Very good. The steak was cooked perfectly. Well seasoned. Spring mix was a nice touch to have something lighter. Service was very prompt and friendly. I forgot our waitresses name but she was very nice. Definitely will be back. One thing about the dishes overall is that they did stay in their lane. I didnt find them exploring too much like differences or going in a certain way. Everything was executed perfectly and what you would expect. I sampled the birria and mole enchiladas. Those made me feel like yeah this is the way they should be made. And Im only a fan of specific moles.
