Though I don't drink beer anymore, I love that they do have a line of ciders and sparkling water at the brewery; and they have a few wine options. Most recently, I had their pizza margherita (made with cauliflower pizza crust, per my request). It was surprisingly very good! I wasn't expecting much, but it was crispy and had zesty pesto sauce that made it even better. If you don't want to order from their kitchen, they do have food trucks and other artisan vendors, entertainment. Do a tour if you can. It's kid and dog-friendly. And it's a great spot to watch some sports on their big screen with views of the downtown Houston skyline. Also, love that SA supports so many non-profit events. High community involvement...

For $15 plus $5 for chicken, you'd expect it to be at least a decent sized salad and have salad stuff in there but you just get a few pieces of chicken and a green goo with just a few and I mean this literally, a few pieces of arugula? I guess I should have read the fine print which didn't mention lettuce but how can you call something a salad that doesn't have any kind of green leaves? I have been coming here a few times a year for various events but the place just doesn't seem to have any sort of a niche...yeah they have beer but I could get that down the street at any pub. They don't even bother putting ice in their water coolers anymore either.

So in that case we felt lucky to get a beer from this place before no beer could be obtained any longer. The beer we had from True Anomaly was the Ben's House IPA. To be honest we have encountered better IPA'S and it wasn't all that memorable. Flavor elements in this beer are citrus, hoppiness, piney and a bitterness. The beer is bright in hue. Even though we were underwhelmed with this beer I cannot say if that applies to all of their beers as we were only able to get the one but if they are all that way perhaps that is one factor resulting in closure.

My first impression of the humble establishment was that it lacks pretentiousness and offers an aesthetic of a hole in a wall minus the grime. While H-Town Brewing primarily focuses on adult beverages, it has an on-site food truck. I was full from an earlier lunch, but my friend offered me his fries and tortilla chips, which were really good. I kicked myself for having nothing but plastic because the food truck accepted only Zelle and cash (I lacked either). It was a bit quiet, but I imagine with football season just weeks away, it's the place to be to catch a game.

We ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Rum Punch, a Wonder Light Lager, a Haterade Watermelon Sour, and an El Pepino shot. Overall, the drinks were decent, and we appreciated the cocktails being made fresh instead of from a can. The El Pepino shot was our favorite of the all of the drinks. They don't offer beer flights, as that would have made it easier to sample more of their beers. There's a large indoor and outdoor space great for large groups, events, or simply hanging out. Service was great.

We stopped in and I asked if they did flights and I simply got a rude "nope" and the guy just looked away. So I ordered a Happy Accidents pale ale that was decent. I asked if they had stickers and I got the same "Nope". I asked if they ever had them or if they were just out, "out" was the reply. Not exactly a chatty guy. So, this most recent visit, I came with a couple buddies. We stopped in before the World Baseball Classic. Still no flights and still no stickers. (The stickers are important for my garage man cave wall!). However, the beertender was a much friendlier lady this time and I got an orange fudge stout that wasn't very good. The place itself is pretty cool for the most part. Really big outdoor area with a bunch of shipping containers turned patio covers. There are a bunch of pinball machines, and the decor is fun. They are also heavy on the cannabis side of things. Areas for improvement: Get some stickers offer flights so people can try your beers parking sucks

My friend and I enjoy exploring small craft breweries around town. My friend wanted to check out…read moreEqual Parts so we stopped in on a Sunday evening. The brewery is located in the East End/Second Ward and it's owned by the same folks as Brash Brewing. The building was built in the early 1900s. The taproom is moderate in size and there were quite a few tables. I had a pint of the Oktoberfest which I really enjoyed! I also ordered a flight with the following: 3 Seashells, Brash EZ 7, Spin Jammer, and the Exotica Scorpion. I didn't care for the Exotica (it was too sour for my preference), but I did like the other three that I tried. We didn't see any food during our visit, but they do have rotating vendors that sell food on site. You can also bring in food or have food delivered to the brewery. They don't have any TVs, so this wouldn't be a place to watch a game. They do allow free parking at the brewery if you want to take the train to the stadium which is pretty cool. They have weekday specials and they host events like Music Bingo and Yoga on the 4th Sunday of the month. Check their website and social media for events and specials.

The space itself is very nice inside, the kind of brewery my girlfriend would like. It's bright, large windows, clean and lots of plants. They don't do flights on game days even if no one is in line and there are like 10 people in the brewery. The 1st time I came, this rule made sense but the second time they had damn near as many workers as customers. So, I have only tried 3 beers. A stout that I didn't care for and 2 IPA's that were pretty good. There is no food onsite and the 2 times that I was there, I didn't see a food truck either. I enjoyed how there was space for the plant show/booths as well as a singo event on the other side. There is still a bar with select beers, cocktails, and drinks. I really enjoyed the fighting windmills the most. It was described as a mexican lager. The staff were friendly and were able to provide input on the drink choices. It was spacious, family friendly, and cool inside despite the heat. They even had games to enjoy. I'm giving a 3 because the beer was good but not great. I got my usual flight and for a small brewery, they had a solid sized selection of 14 different styles. I got a Hazy IPA, a Kolsch, a stout and a rice lager. The Hazy Town was my favorite, but I really liked the Koln Kolsch too. They also had a refrigerator for soft drinks and a few different nonalcoholic which was great for my buddy who no longer drinks. Most of the seating is outside but most of the seats are in the shade. The beertender (is that a word...it should be) was very friendly and knowledgeable. Social Beer Garden just doesn't do it for me. I've been once or twice years ago and recently…read moredecided to give it another try, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately I still left unimpressed. To start out, the concept feels like a blend of accents from other popular bars in the area - the hammock chairs from Axelrad, the Adirondack chairs from Truck Yard, and the string light back patio from 8th Wonder. This blend makes it hard to give the bar a true identity. While they do have a large selection of beers on tap, their cocktail menu leaves me feeling lost. I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. Given the number of other original concepts in the area, I would pass.
