The nightlife haven that has been EaDo has always been impressive to me, namely because of the variety of places to crawl, hop, and indulge. No venue embodies this more than 8th Wonder Brewery, which has become a must visit since there is so much more than meets the eye. There are numerous reasons I can get behind this wonder: :: Outdoor seating is one of the best I've seen in Houston. There are tables galore and an endless amount of space to run around in. It is so vast that even on their busiest days i've still managed to find some aspect of seating. :: It's enormous. There is so much room to run around and plenty of space to where it never feels crowded. Seating is abundant and the high ceilings :: Need somewhere to go where a bunch of folks can meet up immediately? No reservations required and bring the kids and pets (during the daytime), or show up with a bunch of folks and enjoy the outdoor tables. :: Like beer? Good. There's plenty of it here. The dome foam (throwback cream ale) and the cougar paw (red ale) are excellent. :: Happy Hour is between 4pm-7pm, which includes $8 THC cocktails and a variety of other spirits. $4 beer drafts, $5 THC drafts, and $6 well liquor. Their daily "Wonder Hour is from 8-9pm where it's 25% off all to-go purchases. :: No pretension here. No cover. Come in and go out. That's a beautiful thing considering how any venues here will check for IDs and promptly ask for money. :: On select nights, this the street side destination for Yoyo's Hot Dogs (#1), which moved here after their initial run in Rice Village. :: They serve Delta-8 / Delta-9 here. The "We love Houston" sign caught our attention, and we decided to stop in to check out 8th Wonder Brewery. We ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Rum Punch, a Wonder Light Lager, a Haterade Watermelon Sour, and an El Pepino shot. Overall, the drinks were decent, and we appreciated the cocktails being made fresh instead of from a can. The El Pepino shot was our favorite of the all of the drinks. They don't offer beer flights, as that would have made it easier to sample more of their beers. There's a large indoor and outdoor space great for large groups, events, or simply hanging out. Brewery #377 I want to like 8th Wonder Brewery, but they won't let me. I 1st came here in early December with my ladyfriend on our way back from Big Bend national Park. We stopped in and I asked if they did flights and I simply got a rude "nope" and the guy just looked away. So I ordered a Happy Accidents pale ale that was decent. I asked if they had stickers and I got the same "Nope". I asked if they ever had them or if they were just out, "out" was the reply. Not exactly a chatty guy. So, this most recent visit, I came with a couple buddies. We stopped in before the World Baseball Classic. Still no flights and still no stickers. (The stickers are important for my garage man cave wall!). However, the beertender was a much friendlier lady this time and I got an orange fudge stout that wasn't very good. The place itself is pretty cool for the most part. Really big outdoor area with a bunch of shipping containers turned patio covers. There are a bunch of pinball machines, and the decor is fun. Drink beer in a space large enough to land a helicopter in. The place is enormous, whimsical, centrally located, and full of great beer. I got here on a Friday night, fully expecting the crowds you'd find at any bar on a Friday night, but this place is so big it's hard for it to feel packed. Or maybe no one heads here on a Friday night. Either way, other people's loss is our gain and we gathered with a huge group here and had plenty of space to spread out. The outdoor space is so big and you have picnic tables as far as the eye can see. It's like a national park sized beer garden. The Beatles statues in the lot were just the cherry on top-- the perfect backdrop for the beautiful photos you can grab at this space. The inside is industrial, like any good brewery. They've filled the space with plenty of games, be them board games or cornhole. I could easily see whiling away the hours of a Saturday afternoon here. Staff was very welcoming and informative. Im new to the THC industry and they explained in great length about their THC infused products and answered any questions I had. I had 2 beers while i was there. IP8 and Cougar Paw. Both were very good and I sampled a few others. I enjoyed each option they offered me. They have several pinball machines in the main bar area if that's your thing. Most of the seating is park benck/table style with a lil lack of bar seating. They have food trucks available in the outdoor area out back which also provides more seating and lawn games. Very nice place yo enjoy a beer and some games with friends. Located approx 30 minutes away from IAH, we slipped away to 8th Wonder during a long layover. The ambience and vibes were so perfect for getting our trip started! Frustrating to go back to a place that's lost its soul - after years it's weird to go there now several times the past few years and realize you're priced out. The point of a great brewery is to try several beers, hang with friends, and not feel like you're getting ripped for 3 beers. I went here with a few friends based on their recommendation. We went here around 3 PM on a Saturday afternoon so it was somewhat busy. There wasn't much parking available so we ended up grabbing a parking spot at a nearby public parking area. The distillery sits on a location near the brewery. The brewery itself is huge. The inside location has a few tables and bar seating. The beers you can order are on this huge chalkboard. There's a ton of outdoor space, a stage, and several benches outside. Fortunately, it wasn't too chilly so our group ended up getting a table outside. The brewery itself is baseball themed and I didn't notice it too much until I went to the restroom as the "wallpaper" was made of baseball cards. I noticed a food truck outside and a few people with dogs so the brewery is definitely pet-friendly. My friends ended up ordering a special for $18 where you could get 3 craft beers + commemorative glass you could keep. The way they provisioned your beers were by handing you 8th Wonder bottle caps that you can use anytime (i.e. take home and bring back at a future time). I think this is a great business model by all means. I ended up ordering one beer (Rocket Fuel), which is a Vietnamese Coffee Porter. It's definitely what I was looking for and my friends enjoyed their beers too. If I lived in Houston, this would definitely be one of my go to spots. Went to 8th Wonder for the first time ever. Was invited to celebrate 4/20. Overall the event was decent but not where I would recommend anyone spend 4/20. None of the food trucks had food infused but the bar had a first time alcohol free thc menu. We tried all the drinks. I recommend the piña colada. Service was great and are was nice. Overall not a bad spot. We visited on a weekday about 4:30ish. As you can see the place was a bit on the slow side but that was cool. It is very open and a lot of outdoor space. On a nice day or evening I can see it being a nice place to go have a beer. It is definitely kid and pet friendly. If you want food there is a food truck in the back as you can see from the pics. You can also by the special which is if you buy 3 beers you get a better deal vs buying one at a time and they give you some bottle caps that don't expire. Overall not a bad spot I would recommend it and would visit again. As for eye candy you need to bring your own. The beer is good, but the space and parking needs a lot of care. Seriously, a lot of care. I've been here multiple times in the past, but it's been a couple years. It's clear that no one is paying attention to the customer facing details. They have plenty of space for parking in the front and back of their space, but they cone/gate it off for no reason. The bathrooms are disgusting, with scum around the sinks, leftovers in the toilets, broken cup holders, etc. There's electrical wiring across the path to get outside, the tables outdoors haven't been cleaned in a very long time, and the food truck puts off such a terrible grease smell that makes it's hard to sit outside without gagging. read more

They have a deal right now where you can get 3 beers for $18 and a souvenir glass. Honestly a pretty good deal. With that I tried the Rose Sour, Watermelon Sour, and the Viet Coffee. My buddy, a Houston resident took me around town for the one night I was here and this was the first brewery he took me to. There was plenty of seating but just one bar-the bartenders managed to keep it moving along for the most part. The short line helped me decide what I wanted. So, when I visited they were serving their beers in plastic cups-I get it's still the pandemic (kinda) but with so much of the other restrictions being nonexistent-and other breweries in the area serving their wares in actual stemware it's hard to justify Solo cups. The space though was huge, with tons of tables outside with a couple of food trucks. It's definitely a good place to hang and they've definitely put a lot of thought into the place I wish they would just showcase their beer better. read more

This is a great spot to hang with friends! Very casual, dog-friendly, and reasonably priced. 8th Wonder is good for events and usually has a food truck or two. The beer is very drinkable. There's a wide variety of choices, and you can mix some, which is great (ask the bartenders to help!). It's not my favorite beer in houston, but again, it's very drinkable and the variety makes it great for groups. Parking can be a bit of a challenge - comes with the EaDo area - but if you're willing to pay, there are lots nearby. Some street parking (metered) and close-ish to a neighborhood (which may be free to park). Street parking is free on Sundays (yay htown!). Unless you really luck into a spot, you will be walking a bit to get there. Wish there was a bit more in the way of shaded areas, but slather on your sunscreen and snag an extra beer to keep cool! read more

We were stoked to check out 8th Wonder and a nearby newer brewery called True Anomaly. The two breweries could not be more different. But let's focus on 8th Wonder. It's got an old school carnival-esque/baseball park vibe. The exterior is warehouse-huge and parking around the area seems sketch at first. I mean we saw a sign that said "PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK" by the brewery. Walking into the front entrance, you can tell that this brewery has been here a little while with its wooden accents (huge chalkboard menu) and spacious open backyard. There are so many games in the back like cornhole, jenga and even a little play area that has turning blocks (like something kids play with). There's SO MUCH space too...picnic tables for days. So it's definitely the perfect place to bring large groups and have dog parties here. They also have various purchasing options. If you're collecting pint glasses, you'll love their option that lets you keep the pint with purchase of three drinks I believe. What's cool is that the "tickets" are old bottle caps, and the gent at the tap said that these didn't expire! So if you're close to Houston, rest knowing that you can come back and use your caps at another time. That was super dope! It's what they do at 512, a brewery here in Austin! And I'm here for it!! They're also right by a little dog park area that could be useful if Fido gets a little anxious or too excited before heading into the brewery. There wasn't any food truck when we came, but if you walk around the area there are other restaurants like Rodeo Goat not too far away. I'll be honest, I didn't purchase a thing here. Simply stopped in to use their restroom en route to dinner somewhere else. I immediately loved the ambiance upon walking in. Greatly appreciated the htown rap music that was played and the homage paid to htown legends through the artwork that was on the walls. It's dog friendly. I always notice this as a pet owner. There is a large very spacious patio if you'd like to sit outside.
