Where do I start! Been following this place on Instagram and finally made it in this past Saturday! Giant Texas Distillers is amazing and the industrial concept inside is great! Feels like your out of the bustling city of Houston located in Segundo Bario / 5th ward / EADO area ! The handcrafted cocktails were amazing they were able to accompany a party of at least 25 without notice for a birthday and our Hostess Nestor did a great job! Nestor was extremely polite, helpful, and a true hard worker! Stuck with the Giant Mule which is made with whiskey but as a traditional Moscow mule type of drinker, I would recommend this to everyone ! Nestor recommended the Burger and he informed me that the it's 50/50 blend of ground beef and brisket 1/2 patty! Amazing to say the least! Will be back for steak night and thanks again!

    Vodka Drink was delicious.

Excellent customer service. Will be visiting again! Peaceful ambiance. I forgot the gentleman's name but he was very welcoming.

This is a very nice new spot in 5th Ward. Please note that upon arrival, you will have to walk upstairs to enter the restaurant. I didn't see an elevator available. The restaurant/bar area is very spacious. It actually has space where it's easy to walk around. The tables are nicely apart and have nice walk-through space. All of the staff was very kind and checked in on guests in good timing. They have a small retail spot where you can buy bottles of liquor, tee shirts, coffee pods, etc. The food and drinks are great. I'm a burger girl so of course that was my order. That burger is delicious! The meat was well done and not dry, and it was nicely seasoned. All of the topping were fresh. My friend ordered a 15-year rum. This was my first time tasting a aged rum, it was so tasteful. I don't normally drink martinis, but their Lemon martini was good. I like the cute look of the old-fashioned drink. They have an outside roof spot called The View. It has spots where you can sit and have a nice view of Downtown and play some games. I'm planning to take my work team here for lunch one day. I do hope they have an elevator available for people who can't take the stairs. They are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Fun place! Great ambience. The food was average but the drinks are strong. They had a DJ the night we were there and it was crazy loud. We would have drinks there again, but probably skip the food

Based on the reviews, maybe we just had an off night... But that said, it was very off! We came on a Saturday night for a tour and dinner and the place was dead, which was surprising. We arrived early so got a couple cocktails. I had the Blackberry Smash, which was good, and my husband had the Giant Mule, which was awful. It tasted watered down and flavorless. Then we had the tour, which was just very confusing. The tour guide was really nice, but we walked out of it just confused on what they actually do and it felt like he was just ready to go home. I was also expecting more than just one tasting of a Canadian whiskey... Which seemed bizarre for a Texas Distillery. We then got a flight of whiskey and ordered some food. The bartender was pretty rude and just seemed annoyed by our presence. We moved to a table and then had a waitress and she was really nice and helpful. We both ordered burgers and they were mediocre at best. We had the VIPs flight, which was alright, but didn't enjoy anything or the experience enough to take a bottle home. The ambiance inside was really cool, but they need to improve the service and food.

I've had this place on my radar for awhile. Finally came in for my birthday and it was a good night. The place was spacious and they have a nice patio out back "the view" where you can see downtown. It was a good atmosphere. As soon we walked in we were greeted by two staff members. Nestor was our host and he was GREAT! He constantly checked on us and made great suggestions. He handled about over 20 people. The Smash blueberry was my favorite, not a fan of the guava drink it was too sweet for me. I also had the quesadilla, bomb. It had a dipping sauce that I could not get enough of. I also tried the burger and I'm not a burger girl and I was like "oooo that's good". Overall I felt like they had a variety of options from whiskey, cocktails, and beer. Their food menu provided good selections as well. I will definitely be back for the drinks, food, and views.

Gulf Coast Distillers is newly opened and is a great place to grab a cocktail. Please note that currently, the Yelp check in offer is 1 free cocktail. My husband and I came to this distiller this evening, around 4:45 pm. When we sat down, we were approached by one of the bartenders for a drink order. After looking over the drink list (which the list does rotate from time to time), we ended up ordering: Giant Mule, $10- My husband liked this drink but I didn't like this one as much. But I am not a big drinker in general. BJ Collins $11- Of the 2 drinks we ordered, I thought this one was the best. It was somewhat sweet and had a nice flavor. My husband also liked this cocktail too. ------------------------ (Total= $11 after Yelp check in offer. Although we both have Yelp, we felt it is best to at least pay for 1 drink) The service was friendly. It was nice that an employee refilled our water glasses a few times during our visit. What was really cool on tonight's visit was that Texas Whiskey Trail happened to be recording their podcast here in the tasting room (which is a really big size and has plenty of seating) in honor of Gulf Coast Distillers' release party of their new whiskey, Giant Rye 100. We didn't know about this event and just happened to pick a good day to come. It was nice that the distillery provided some delicious food in honor of the release party for all patrons (total score for us). If only we lived in this area, we would definitely come back. Please note that this place is located in an industrial area with its own parking lot. Also there are stairs that you need to take up to the tasting room. Not sure if there is an elevator though, for those that may need it. Also this place is not dog friendly :( but is kid friendly.

Gulf Coast Distillers and its bar, "Ben's Den, is a great add to Houston's distillery scene -- a better spot to spend time than Yellow Rose, while less of a bar-hopping crowd than 8th Wonder Distillery. The bartender was extremely skilled; the Cosmic Rock was unique while an Old Fashioned with the Giant 91 offered smooth bourbon paired with sweetness from agave. The atmosphere was quiet, but is sure to evolve a bit as more people find out about it. On the day I went, tables featured games, and several screens showed college football. While the design is great, it would be nice to see more information on the menu or walls about each of their products -- as I was new to their products, there was a bit of a learning curve. The team at Ben's Den is off to a great start -- be sure to check this place out!

holiday tasting - great tour. flight options. offer food. tried steak night but too dry + basic salad + fries had slice of cheese it was odd.

These are a few pictures of the event I attended at the venue

Well, for starters, I was overcharged by way of a tip. I tipped in cash and selected no for a tip yet I got home and discovered that I've been charged a 20% tip. I saw the problem and called the business and received no call back and nobody would answer the phone.

The perfect Saturday outing! Learn something educational about the spirit distilling process and enjoy Texas craft bourbon! While the area/exterior is extremely industrial, the tasting room is swanky and rustic. You can enjoy the 30-minute tour, followed by food, whiskey/bourbon flights, and cocktails in "Ben's Den" on the 2nd floor. Tours are $10, but you can usually find a Groupon deal for group packages. Whether you're a bourbon connoisseur or novice, you'll enjoy your time here!

I really liked Gulf Coast Distillers! You get a lot of options to choose from when it comes to whiskey. It was really busy during the time I went but our server made sure to check in on us to make sure we were taken care of. If you're hungry, they have food trucks up front you can order from. I had a grilled cheese that was phenomenal! We also tried some loaded fries which were good also. You can go on a tour if you'd like. I didn't get to go on one, but I plan to the next visit.

Came in for an Astros game date night everyone and everything was very nice. We started with the flight and it was amazing!!

Floridora is incredible smooth, refreshing on hot Texas day.

The location was really nice, the private room was great and the vibes were awesome. Unfortunately, my experience with Nikki Harris, who is also listed as a general manager, has been the complete opposite. For months, I have been asking how I can actually receive my wines, and I have the emails to prove it. I never received a single response or clear direction. The whole communication around this has been terrible. When Nikki finally did reply, it was with a rude and dismissive message, one that I've attached here for transparency, without ever acknowledging my prior outreach. This is not the way paying customers should be spoken to or treated, especially when they have been spending money and not able to get clarity on their products. I had already canceled my membership before this exchange, but had I not, I certainly would have afterward. Her tone and lack of professionalism were unacceptable, and it made clear to me that she does not understand what respectful customer service looks like. She also had to backtrack on her email without even knowing the facts. The worst! I understand that closures and operational challenges happen, but respect and clear communication should never be optional. Unfortunately, Nikki Harris demonstrated neither.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.
