The atmosphere is fun, the wine selections are great, and it's a really nice way to spend time with friends or meet new people who enjoy wine. Stole my money and scammed me! Very disappointing experience with Texas Winos. I purchased two vouchers covering two boat outings, two wine bus tours, and six wine events, and I have been unable to use them because the company has been extremely unresponsive when I've tried to make arrangements. I've reached out multiple times to try to schedule the experiences I paid for, but getting a response has been difficult or impossible. At this point, I'm left with vouchers I paid for but cannot actually use. Customer service and communication have been very frustrating. My experience with Texas Winos started off on a positive note. In June 2025, I attended one of their Wino Fest events in Magnolia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Based on that experience, I booked the Fredericksburg Vintner Winery Tour & Italian Lunch for my birthday in July 2025. Unfortunately, less than an hour before the tour was scheduled to begin, it was canceled. We were notified by email that the scheduled driver had experienced a medical emergency and the backup driver was already assisting with another event. The company apologized and offered to double our winery tour credits, provide free tickets to any 2025 Wino Fest, and allow us to attend a Boat Bash on Lake Travis that same day. While I appreciated the gesture, the Boat Bash offer was impossible to accept. We received the email around 10:00 a.m., and the event began at 11:30 a.m. We were already in Fredericksburg, so there was no realistic way to drive to Lake Travis in time. Although my birthday plans were ruined, I understood that emergencies happen and accepted the four winery tour credits and two Wino Fest tickets for future use. A year later, for my birthday in July 2026, I decided to use my credits to book the same Fredericksburg winery tour. We arrived at the designated meeting location early and waited for the tour to begin. The scheduled start time came and went, but no driver or tour vehicle ever arrived. Even more frustrating, there was no communication whatsoever to let us know there was a delay, cancellation, or any other issue. I immediately called, texted, and emailed the company but did not receive a response for more than an hour. Richard eventually replied by email, stating that the driver had picked up the vehicle on time and that their digital roster showed the other attendees had joined the tour. This only added to my confusion because I had arrived early at the exact meeting location provided in their confirmation link. I even replied with a screenshot from their own link showing where I had been instructed to meet, but I never received another response that day. The following day, I again requested an explanation for what had happened and asked for a refund. I received no response to either request. After two consecutive years of having my birthday plans ruined by this company, I can no longer recommend them. My communications have been with Richard, and based on my experience, I feel I was treated unfairly and ignored when I tried to resolve the situation. Our adventure began as we set off to three fantastic wineries, starting with a delightful lunch at the first stop. Each winery offered an impressive selection of 4-5 unique wines to sample, and if you were feeling adventurous, you could even grab some extra tastings! We had an absolute blast with Edwin, our guide, who was not only hilarious but also incredibly knowledgeable about all the wines we were trying. If you love wine, I'd say this is a nice concept. But I will not be using this company again. The main issue I have is that they suck at correspondence and I am convinced that it is purposefully done. There is no working phone number and they do not really respond to emails. I only received a response from them one time and after that, nobody ever responded to my multiple emails. I had inquired about the cancellation policy, weeks in advance and attempted to cancel since I was told that I could cancel 72 hours prior to the event. I figured out quickly that they were dodging my response on purpose. They only want to take your money and don't want to give refunds even though their policy states you can get a refund if you cancel 72 hours before. For that, I say they are a trash, bogus, scamming ass company that should not be in business! Luckily, I still ended up being able to attend so I went. The package I had came with a wine glass, lunch, and wine samples at 3 different wineries. I was pleased that there were a lot of meal options for different diet types. That part was nice, I guess. But it was also a bit unorganized. The first winery we went to didn't have enough seats set up for everyone so my friends and I were left standing until the guy giving the presentation stopped looking at us like a deer in headlights and decided to bring out more chairs. We planned a bachelorette wine tour in Fredericksburg, Texas on 12/27/25 for my niece and Richard Nunez canceled the morning of stating the driver had an emergency and the backup driver was scheduled to do another tour in a different city. We paid over $1,200 for our group and he has yet to refund us. We came from California and Florida and aren't able to reschedule for another day. He didn't respond for several days and then he sent an email saying that he issued the refund and it will take 3-5 business days. He didn't send the refund. We sent an email to the county attorney general office and my friend is going to contact her bank. Apparently he has done this to several customers and there is an entire Facebook, Instagram page and numerous BBB complaints page about it. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK anything with this man. Where to start. Went for a friends birthday. We drove all the way to Chappell freaking hill. In narnia. With. Broken down bus... no ac. It was raining so water was leaking through the bus! Then our tour host is high as hell off his vape and flirting and dancing down the isles like this is a tour guide in Cancun. Not to mention he had his nephew in the front seat. As we make it to Chappell hill . After the he'll ride/ we get to this beat down winery: that's in some dudes back yard. They immediately send us in a room and get lectured by kernel sanders for a hour. At this point we haven't even had a sip of wine and the host and the speaker are currently drinking there asses off. They claimed they had a restaurant where we would eat Italian food. So they took orders on the bus. I ordered lasagna. We get to eat and they call me up and let's see. No lasagna was left. But his nephew was gobbling a lasagna. Mind you he's not an employee of the company. Or wearing winos attire. Just nike fit. Slides and a hat. The host who thinks he's a mixture between Charleston white and ceelo green then comes up to me and gives me a half cup of wine as compensation for the mistake. Not only are they serving soda out of 2 liter bottles... but calling us up like prison. The last winery was alright. Besides the fact the owner lost his senses and taste during Covid so he doesn't know what his wine tastes like. Imagine that shit show or a lecture. Then after all the bs is done you get back on the raggedy bus and to the last stop where they Claim there's a food truck if the food wasn't good enough. Then realized there was an additional registration fee and a "pre-tip" fee for the driver. On Friday the day before the wine tour, we were notified that night that the driver had an emergency and tour was canceled for Saturday. They offered to have it the next day (Sunday). When Sunday came they said "OH goodness sorry it looks like the driver is the same from yesterday". Immediately me and my husband noticed everything seemed off. I stumbled on this group through a Groupon. A friend and I did the Houston to Chappell Hill day trip. The tour guide was entertaining and the wineries gave very generous pours. The bus was a little loud as there was a large group celebrating a birthday. Since then, I have attended two tastings in the Houston area. There is a handful of wineries at these events and other vendors. Upon check in, you are given a sheet to take notes and a tasting glass. The note taking on paper is a little archaic and kind of gets in the way. The seating typically isn't that great, there are only a few tables with chairs inside and no options to sit outside. It is pretty much standing room only especially if you go to a tour later in the day. Some of the wineries are not as friendly or generous as the others. They will only give you what you ask for and not explain the wine which feels kind of awkward. Overall, the group itself is worth giving a try. The experience may vary but it is fun and different. Also, once you are on their email list you will get notified of different events and discounts. They are pretty friendly and offer different options for tours, times and locations. read more

I recently went on a Texas Winos wine tour, and unfortunately, my experience was a major disappointment--so much so that I don't see myself ever participating in a Texas Winos Tour again, nor would I recommend it to others. Edwin, our Texas Wino guide/host, was consistently rude, which set a negative tone from the start. Beyond that, the tour itself was disorganized and chaotic. The speaker on the bus was busted when they attempted to play music through bus speakers. When first picked up at our pickup location we had to sit on the busy while Edwin ran into BestBuy to try and purchase a bluetooth cord to get a luttle bluetooth speaker he had to work. The The music has was sparse, and the energy was entirely lacking. To make matters worse, several issues with food orders occurred. At first, guests were told they couldn't have lasagna because it had run out, then that there wasn't enough to make it fair for everyone. That could have been communicated much more clearly. When we arrived at the first winery, Edwin passed out glasses with Texas Winos logos, only to collect them back later, saying he didn't have enough for everyone. A simple explanation upfront stating he passed out the wrong glasses would have been more honest and appreciated. Towards the end of the tour he mentioned they were for sale...he could have just said that. When it came time for food, my chicken parmesan order was mistakenly given to someone else. I had to wait until everyone else was served before being told that I should've been in line sooner--though I was briefly away in the restroom. Frankly, my food shouldn't have been handed to someone else in the first place. This level of disorganization made the tour frustrating and unenjoyable. After the previous tour date was canceled last minute a month ago due to an emergency on Texas Winos' part, I was looking forward to this as a make-up for the lost experience. Instead, I've been left feeling that customer service here needs serious evaluation. The level of disorganization and lack of attention to customer experience was very frustrating. Best part of the event were the family owed wineries with passionate owners! We enjoyed all three stops on our Houston-Chappell Hill-Brenham-Bellville tour. The bus wasn't so fun. The music is extremely loud and offensive at times. They allow any and all beverages and "smoke" on the bus. We had fun singing and the occasional "party it up" song was great for some dancing and swaying in your seat, but we would have liked some quieter time to allow visiting with friends. As with all group tours foreign and domestic, there are rules on when to use the bathroom, where to be and when you'll have free time. When a tour guide says "you'll be released after such and such", I know I'm in the wrong place. With 50+ people on the tour it can be like hearding cats on occasion. Now for the worst part of our tour, we were all pivoted to new pick up locations via email the morning of our tour. Luckily one person caught it and we were able to reroute our 20+ group but just thinking about the possibility of one missed email leading to a complete miss of the trip was disheartening. Lastly, they promise to get you back by 6, but our trip ended 1.5 hours late leading to many changes/cancellation of after tour plans, extended babysitters and the like. If you love wine, this is a nice starting point to visiting local wineries, but next time our group will rent a van and control our own plans. read more

I decided to add an update to my final experience with Texas Winos as I continue to see people being scammed by this company over and over again. After contacting my bank, reporting them to the BBB, and filing a formal consumer complaint to the Texas Office of the Attorney General (all highly recommend actions for people going through the same thing), I received my refund. This was after over four months of being strung along via email. Their phone line also still does not work - well over six months after my last attempt at call! Almost like they have no plans to fix it, hmmm... A few more excuses I've now seen reported by people for last minute cancellations or unexpected random charges: the venue wasn't secured, maybe the customer had left their browser tab open and it automatically ran another charge $200+ "mysteriously" , that the business definitely "called them and left a voicemail"... just a few more to watch out for! :) I will say that Richard reached out to me a month-and-a-half after my refund had processed to check in about a "compensation event" for myself and unnamed others. I suspect they're facing legal action due to the amount of complaints, so if you're wondering whether or not to bother reporting them, this is your sign! As I mentioned in my review before, the company buries bad reviews by offering drink tickets and other perks in exchange for five-star reviews for customers fortunate enough to actually make it on one of their tours. Which is odd because why sell tickets for an event and you have not secured a venue? Myself and the others from my group have reached out 3 or more times regarding a refund with no response. I booked Texas winos a couple years back for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. It was a boat cruise. It was fun and lived up to my expectations. They even made our own page/sign up for our group that was discounted just for us. Instructions were very detailed and price very reasonable. Since then, Texas Winos keeps me updated about events, most of which I'm interested in. They even send me free tickets to an event if they haven't booked it out fully to their expectations which I think says a lot about their company and their commitment to customers/vendors to make an event great. I highly recommend. I was a little worried when I booked the wine tour on 7/8 since some of the reviews I read stated that communication was an issue. I had nothing to worry about though. Richard and his team were quick to respond to all of my emails as long as I sent it during normal business hours, M-F from 9a to 4p. The tour itself was great! The bus came right on time with no issues. Our tour guide Edwin was awesome. He was fun, lively and entertaining. Without him, the tour would not have been the same. We went to 3 wineries: Texas star Winery, windy Winery, and U-bar Winery. All three were lovely. The Italian food we were served for lunch hit the spot. I chose the chicken Alfredo and it came with a salad and garlic bread. Yum yum. Long story short. I would definitely book another tour. read more

I finally had to get the refund through my bank due to their inability to email me back for weeks at a time. They even threatened legal action because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to see if they could help get my refund back. What a scam and Richard was very rude. The cancelation was made on that Friday and sent via email, which I was unaware of until I was at the location and was wondering why the bus had not arrived. A phone call would have sufficed. They stated that a call was made, I don't have a call history of them calling. I asked for a refund of $478 and still have yet to receive it, even after a email confirmation that it would be issued within 3 to 4 business days.
