Marna and Bobby were amazing tour guides for an early mural tour, even from our super late notice of wanting to book a tour and transportation from Galveston port and drop-off to George Bush airport. Their communication was top-notch. They were patient with us, accommodating to our schedule and knowledgeable about the city and the murals/artists. We had some great photo opportunities and got to know more about HTOWN/Houston. If I am in the city again, I would love to book their other tours to know more about the City tour, Galveston and Christmas lights tour. Their red truck was also very comfortable. Very spacious in the back and height is perfect to see the murals that we drove by. I would highly recommend to book Joy Ride whether you're with family, friends or with a significant other - Marna and Robby will customize a tour perfect for your time in Houston!

This is a review of Joyride Murals Tour 2.0. After experiencing the Private Houston Mural Instagram Tour by Cart with Joyride Tours last November, which covered a portion of downtown Houston's murals and the background of their creation, we came back in late December for Murals Tour 2.0. This second tour, which covered some other parts of downtown, as well as EaDo, the area around St. Arnolds, and Sawyer Yards, was even more comprehensive and longer in duration that the initial tour. As always, Marna was both a charming and very knowledgeable hostess as she drove us around to see the murals. Our biggest surprise was the murals at Sawyer Yards as we had no idea that they were there. It was a delightful journey to see some incredible artwork. We took both tours on a Sunday morning, which we recommend as there is less traffic than during a weekday.

Super organized "Manager Special" tour. I booked and I think a minute later received a text from Marna introducing the company and details on the upcoming tour. Received a separate email for the waivers for my husband and me to complete prior to the tour. We were requested to arrive 15 minutes before the tour (of course we were way too early) and the tour guide contacted us that they were early too. So we got to start our fun day early. We've never enjoyed an electric cart tour, so it was kind of like a Disney ride for us. Marna and Robby (the driver) gave us a very informative tour of the city with two brewery stops. Plenty of opportunities to stop for Instagram worthy shots of the beautiful murals. Recommended booking with this nice company.

Interested in learning more about Houston? This tour is a great start! My family and I had the pleasure of experiencing this tour with our wonderful guides Bobby and Marna. First, they are so sweet! This couple welcomed my family and I with great vibes and southern hospitality. Second, they are knowledgeable in Houston's founders and history of the city. They stay up to date on changes the city has undergone, especially after the pandemic. As someone who relocated from the Midwest, I thought this tour was essential. I feel informed and ready to share some "did you know..." facts to friends and other Houstonians! They drive through many of the downtown districts via multi passenger golf cart. Opportunity for photos and videos are provided. They welcome questions, feedback and tips!

The ONLY thing provided and that was 1/2 the amount of time was the photo ops!

BAH HUMBUG! Paid for a 2 hour Christmas lights tour. Received one hour and nine minutes of service. Were told that "hot chocolate, christmas trivia, and caroling" were included in the price. Received none of that. Paid for FIVE of us to go together. They smashed us into four seats and took up two seats for the tour operators. We were told that the reason that we received poor service was the "The tour was changed this year due to restrictions from the city" but that doesn't mean that they can't take a few keystrokes and change what they are promising through their website -- heck a ten-year old could change the "2 hours" to a "1 hour" without their password! VERY disappointed because I have said for years that someone should start a business like this. It's unfortunate that this company has Scrooged people (included us) out of our money and time for promises not kept. PLEASE NOTE: we DID go to the company directly and ask for their answers to the problems, along with what they would like to do to resolve this situation and "Robby" never replied. What a class act. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNTIL THEY GET THE KINKS WORKED OUT!!!

What a fantastic tour! The murals were exquisite, and our guide was informative. One of the few tours worth the money!

My friends and I took The Joyride Tour last weekend and absolutely loved it! Our tour guides were Marna and Robby and they couldn't have been any friendlier, hospitable and informative. The electric tour vehicle was very comfortable with a clear roof and 360 degrees views. We chose the Houston Mural Tour and we learned so much about the artwork, artists and history behind it all. It was really fascinating! I would highly recommend this tour for all ages! I am very much looking forward to booking one of the other tours they offer here in Houston or in Galveston! Thank You again Joyride!!!

Our tour guide Larry was the BEST. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He explained the different paintings and the artist who did them. This was definitely a GREAT TOUR to take.

Great tour for our family while visiting Houston

While visiting Houston last week, we booked a Mural Tour and Marna gave us a great tour of the beautiful murals in the Downtown area. Her descriptions and history of the murals gave life to the tour.

I have never had an opportunity to go on the waterway and found out about it on Reddit. I happened to get the last two spots for one of the last tours of the year and it was easy. My kid had a great time and I did too. Learned a lot and the sailing was smooth!

I went with 7 friends, you enter at Gate 8 off of Clinton Drive, just tell the security guard you are there for the tour. There is a nice plaza to wait at right next to the boats. The parking lot is safe; let's face it, the only folks getting in have to pass security! A bit before 10 am one of the employees came out to check everyone in and handed out bottles of cold water which was great as it was almost 90 degrees outside in full sunlight. We boarded and were asked to sit inside while they got underway. One of the shipmates gave a safety talk and then we were free to go outside. The boat moves along at a pretty good pace, every now and then it slows for tug boat traffic. You get to see the industries that are along the ship channel. There are lots of big ships and also small ones. Some are loading or unloading, others are being repaired or a clean coat of paint. The shipmates serve coffee for the adults on the way and after turning around after about 45 minutes they offer cold water and soft drinks. There are so many photo opportunities so take lots of pictures. You are asked to go inside while they secure to the dock, the air conditioning feels great. Then you are on your way. The entire crew was so nice, they were helpful and friendly and could answer questions. Please, if you plan to take children, keep them under control. While not dangerous, there are things to watch for so you don't trip and the doors for the cabin are very heavy and hard to open and shut quickly so a child could easily get hurt. I took a mix of infrared and visible spectrums photographs

Ben, our guide, was fantastic -- a true local who clearly loves his hometown. His narration on Houston's architecture, history, and hidden details made the skyline come alive. You could feel the hometown pride in every story he shared. It wasn't just facts -- it was personality, context, and connection. Huge shoutout to Yolanda as well for keeping us safe while navigating all over the city. Houston traffic is no joke, and she handled it like a pro. There are only two hop-off stops -- the Aquarium and Sam Houston Park -- so if you're looking for a fully flexible hop-on-hop-off experience, this isn't that. But honestly, it's a great overview tour and a really efficient way to see and understand Houston in a short amount of time. If you want a solid introduction to the city with knowledgeable locals leading the way, this is a great choice! Support this family owned business.

It was so much fun, we had a wide selection of foods, and the guide, Christine, was great. She was sweet, down to earth, and knowledgeable. It's definitely a good amount of food. I was so stuffed by the end I couldn't finish certain dishes. I really liked 6 out of 8 of the dishes which I think is a good proportion considering everything was a surprise. We went to 4 different restaurants. I think everyone's least favorite was the last dessert, but it was okay because we had so much yummy food before then. I highly recommend the tour! The walking was nice since we were eating so much. You also get a little history tour as you walk. It wasn't too much walking so I think it's suitable for older adults and kids (I heard some of the other locations are more walking so be sure to ask if you're concerned). It's a little pricier than some similar tours I found ($70/pp), but they were much more responsive and easier to plan with compared to other places.

Always looking to do something unique when visiting Houston so made my friends take this "Houston,…read moreWe Have a Tunnel" tour with me and we all liked it. We met at the Cafe Express on corner of Capitol and Main and then started the tour in an old bank building (now occupied by Chase). Note, lots of people came late to the tour, we waited 15 minutes to start but then left so it is important to show up on time. The Chase building is gorgeous and has a beautiful Art Deco interior. There are eight frescos near the ceiling when you walk in and they depict the history of Houston. After that, you go down into the tunnels. Michael our tour guide was very informative and personable and we got a primer on the history and facts about the tunnels. There are over 8 miles of tunnels connecting buildings downtown! Maybe that is why you don't see anybody on the streets of the 4th largest city in America! We went from building to building underground and then came up from time to time, learning particular facts about the buildings, the topography and the architecture along the way. We took a break after about an hour and got free cookies at a store in the lower level of the Pennzoil building called Michael's cookies. (No relation to our tour guide) I love infrastructure so for me, this was an awesome experience. The tunnels in Houston are functional and there are lots of places to eat, but it is not like the underground networks in Toronto and Montreal that are kind of like subterranean malls. My friends who went with me aren't quite as nerdy as I am, but they enjoyed it too. The tour lasts about two hours and I feel it was two hours well spent. I would recommend doing this in the morning and then doing a Buffalo Bayou Cistern tour in the afternoon to get your fill of underground Houston.
