I recently visited Bahama Breeze and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor--everything tasted like it was just made, which made a big difference. The coconut shrimp was delicious as always--crispy, flavorful, and definitely one of my favorites on the menu. I also tried the pineapple cake, which was pretty good, though it was a bit overpowered with rum for my taste. That said, it was super cool to see it lit on fire at the table--such a fun and memorable experience! But then again everything is expensive these days. The half off apps helped the price but my wine was pricey. We had a really good time visiting this location--hopefully not for the last time. Since they're closing, it definitely sucks, so we knew we had to stop by one more time and enjoy it while we could. This time I finally tried the mahi tacos with French fries, and they were a hit. Everything was really good, and I honestly had no complaints about my order. It came out fresh, tasted great, and was exactly what I was hoping for. The only thing was the seating for our bigger group. We were placed in a round booth tucked into a small corner, and it was a little awkward trying to squeeze in and get comfortable. It wasn't the easiest setup for a larger table, but we made it work and still had a great time overall. And our server, Haley, was very sweet and thoughtful. I hadn't been to Bahama Breeze in a long while. Family decided to celebrate a birthday here and called ahead to reserve a table for 14, although the actual party size was 11. Reservations are for indoors, however, they were able to accommodate us in the outdoor seating. Seating outdoors is wonderful when the weather is nice, and you get the pleasure of live entertainment - someone is playing music and/or singing. The table was ready upon arrival and seating was immediate, menus provided shortly thereafter. We had a team of 2 servers, I believe that their names are Eduardo and Haley F. After about 15 minutes or so they came to take the drink orders. Once those were placed, they came back to take our entree orders. I decided to go with a modified version of the Island Grill Steak Salad - I ordered it without the corn and black beans along with a side of goat cheese. The ordered came out in a time frame that was reasonable for our party size. All of the orders were correct, and everyone seemed satisfied with their food. The portion sizes were quite reasonable as well, some in the party needed to go boxes. Someone at my table ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken wings and those looked pretty good - if I were to come back, I think that I would With permission, my family was able to bring a birthday cake. When it was time, our servers brought it out to us, Eduardo lit the candles and they started the birthday song. Not long after, upon the server's prompting, the guy doing the live entertainment also played the 'happy birthday' song. All told, we were there about 2 hours and 15 minutes on a reasonably busy Saturday night. It seems that things may have improved over the years. You may have heard that Darden is eliminating their Bahama Breeze line of restaurants with some closing and others being converted to other franchise lines. We decided to hit up the Bahama Breeze in Altamonte Springs for lunch before this one got converted to something else. I am happy to say that this restaurant is still maintaining its professionalism up to the end. Everyone was friendly and welcoming as we celebrated birthdays of two in our party. I got the Island Snapper -- a large perfectly prepared Snapper fillet served on top of rice seasoned with mango-avocado salsa. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. They kept the iced tea coming up till the end and served the birthday honorees ice cream at the end. I always like Bahama Breeze's tropical vibe. I came in with my family, as it has been forever since I've been to a Bahama Breeze. It was a slow night, so service was face and friendly. I ordered the Salmon Tostada Salad, in which I had the Salmon Blackened. The cook was good on the salmon, the tostade had melted cheese which was surprising and good. I stopped in Bahama breeze today to pick up lunch for my team. I was waiting on a couple of the orders to trickle in, but decided to come in anyway. It was greeted by the kindest young hostess, who directed me to the takeout specialist. She quickly approached me and introduced herself. I let her know that I had a partial order ready, but I was still waiting on a few stragglers. I gave her my phone so that she can see the order herself and she quickly put in the stuff that was definitive. When I finally received the remainder, I handed her my phone to do the same. Within 15 to 20 minutes, my order was ready and my bill was paid. For the amount of food that I received, it was definitely worth it. I ordered the linguine with lobster and shrimp as well as a clam chowder. The clam chowder was delicious on this cold day. The linguine was absolutely amazing and the sauce was yummy too! I am sad that this restaurant chain will be changing as their food and ambiance is wonderful. We are abstaining from alcohol now so it was refreshing to have a Virgin Bahamarita without it costing more than $5 as some establishments like to charge for a mocktail. My partner and I had the two different salmon dishes which were so delicious! My salmon wasn't as dry as I asked for it to be med rare and it was moist and delicious! After stating I would never return, my best friend chose BB for our HH. I arrived at 3:50p and we waited till happy hour hit to put in our orders. I only had a pineapple coconut martini which was not overly sweet and had a pleasant taste. The beef empanadas have a stew-like filling rather than the kind my homemade ones are like. They were tasty and the mango chutney gives them an added tang. The yuca fries were good but eat them while they spanking hot so you enjoy the cheese pull. The conch fritters have a good fluffy interior just wait for the pieces of conch which can jar you a bit when eating it. The shrimp with cuban bread is tasty but know the bread is unsliced and it came get a bit tough while sitting in the paper bag but a good soak in the sauce makes it delightful. We were a party of nine (four teens, five adults) celebrating a birthday. The food was enjoyable but the service absolutely horrible! We had to repeatedly ask to have empty glasses refilled and/or cleared, dishes taken away after piling up in the middle of the table, and checks requested. Even when my husband spoke to the manager about all of this, nothing was done to adjust the check of the party hostess; more than that, though, no one (waitress or manager) offered any apology for the lack of BASIC (restaurant 101) service. The restaurant appeared to be maybe 25-35% occupied with plenty of staff on hand, so not sure where the breakdown occurred. Happy hour is where it's at will all the different drinks including bahama mama one of my favorites and the cactus shot was definitely out there with the citrus flavors. As a Caribbean woman, this is not home cooking. It's edible but not made with the love of the islands... if you like spicy and depths of flavor then there may be a couple of dishes for you. I'd go again for drinks and appetizers but not for a full meal. The service was great. The drinks were good; although the mango margarita tasted more like peaches. When we started off with drinks I tried out the javatini which was essentially a frozen espresso martini. It was very delicious and has a great balance of coffee and alcohol. When it was time to order our meals we got the Black Bean BBQ Burger (vegetarian), & Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The black bean burger comes with pepper jack cheese and guac on it which really added to the flavor! The patty itself was a bit big for the bun but was still manageable. The crispy chicken sandwich was alright. Flavor overall was decent but nothing that blew my mind.
