First time in this weekend and I love it ! The food was good and fresh. The service was friendly and everyone was so nice and accommodating. We were the first customers in so we kind of had everyone's attention. Then it started getting busy so that was a good sign that this is a good spot They really do have the best margaritas. The tacos were fantastic and the steak and shrimp The little one ended up ordering a cheeseburger with no bun. They were happy to accommodate. We have eaten at Frida's Mexican restaurant many many times over the last few years but lately it seems that there's been a change in the inside of the far as the doesn't seem like there is a manager there or that the people that there have somebody looking shoulder. The restaurant was closed for about a year and refurbished, and it does look great inside but last week on Monday night around 7:30 we went to the restaurant and when we walked in the lady that was cleaning the floor I guess she also worked at the front desk tried to make us sit in the bar section, which was very isolated and there was nobody in the restaurant in the front section where we usually sit, but she had that area so she didn't want anybody messing up the area again, which is wrong because we wanted to sit there so I told her we wanted to sit in the front section. There was a family sitting there with two kids running around screaming and she put us right next to them and I told her no no no I want to sit a little bit away from them English was not that good and she didn't seem to understand what I was trying to say so we sat down and the waiter was very nice but we ordered something different this time. Normally we get the fajitas for two but we got a chicken type meal and it was dropped dead terrible they had put so much salt on it that you could hardly eat it. Also, it just looked like it was just thrown on the plate. Very little rice very little anything else and our waiter during the meal all of a sudden just couldn't find I wanted a refill for my drink and I waited and waited and finally I had to go back into the kitchen to find somebody to get a refill for my drink. It was crazy and then all of a sudden about five or 10 minutes later he pops up I don't know where he went and the lady that showed us to the table when we first walked in. She was cleaning around us, pulling the tables out and made us feel like that we should leave and it was only 730 at night and I will admit there was nobody else in the restaurant but us but these cleaning people should never clean while other people are in the restroom eating you make people feel like they should leave and make things worse. We brought a friend of us with us to show him the restaurant, and this was his first time there so it was a disaster all around. I know that every restaurant has good nights and bad nights, but we could tell there were something going on in that restaurant and it just seems like there was no Manager and everybody was just doing what they do and I'm not sure if we will ever go back. It was such a bad night. a few other things, but I don't wanna go into it. This will take forever but there's a big possibility we will not go back. Restaurants nowadays are charging so much and giving you so little and that is one reason many of them are going out of business so if the food is bad and the service is bad. We came in for lunch and had a great experience! Service is amazing and the atmosphere is so fun! We enjoyed chips and salsa. I really like their salsa. For my entree, I got Grandma's meal, which is a cup of their chicken soup and a chicken enchilada with red sauce. It's the perfect portion size and so comforting. I had a great experience here! The inside is beautiful and vibrant. I went solely for their taco Tuesday special and it did not disappoint! 5 tacos for $10, I got two al pastor, one barbacoa, and one steak. They all tasted delicious. I came here one evening with about a dozen coworkers. This place had been some rundown hole in the wall that closed down. I'm not sure if the space sold or if the owners just regrouped, but one day, Frida's was born. I came to a new Mexican restaurant, and just ordered fajitas. Now, there's nothing wrong with fajitas, they're delicious. But gosh, there are other things on the menu! Why must I always go to fajitas. Aaanyway, so I ordered the Fajitas (All fajitas are served in a sizzling skillet with green bell peppers, tomatoes, and onions. Served with a side of rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, tomato, cheese, and tortillas), more specifically the Trio (Grilled tender chicken, steak, and jumbo shrimp). These were amazing. The chicken, which is often the more boring meat, really stood out. It was seasoned well, cooked Just perfectly. The steak was great, sliced just the right way. And the shrimp was certainly jumbo and plump, very juicy. Good stuff. As for the sides, they were pretty tasty, all done well, but the amount they gave you were the small, boutique-sized portions that are very trendy right now. So, that stinks, especially since the spirit of Mexico is small prices and large portions of quality food. But whatever. The experience was still wonderful. Overall, this place was very good. What an amazing experience! Super friendly staff and wonderfully decorated restaurant. The food was very very tasty. We devoured those appetizer nachos in minutes! The chimichangas are made like a little bag which I thought was different and cute. Very very good! I went for the dinner with a show item and got the Molcajete which had so much meat!!! I love Mexican food, but oddly enough in Central Florida have not really found an overall great Mexican restaurant, but Frida's will definitely be our go-to spot from now on. The decor is fun, yet classy. The service was quick, correct, and friendly. We started out with the chorizo cheese dip appetizer, which give you a huge portion of chorizo and cheese dip with fresh tortilla chips. My husband got the chorizo burger, which sounds odd, but was one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had! It was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I ordered from the à la carte menu and got rice, refried beans, a crispy beef taco, and a chile relleno. Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned well, and It was enough food that I could take home part of the children out and rice and beans for lunch the next day. Lovers of Habaneros will be happy to know that this is still owned and operated by the same lovely family. The younger generation took over and put their spin on things. The vibe was very fun. I loved the new decor and there is plenty of room for a large group. I came with a group of coworkers and we had a buffet set up for us with chicken, steak, & vegetarian fajitas. This restaurant opened up where Habanero's Mexican Grill used to be. We tried out Frida's Fajitas for two. The fajitas were very good with an ample amount of various meats. They are served with 3 flour or corn tortillas, rice, and refried beans. I also ordered a Sky margarita which was enjoyable. I thought the chips and salsa could have been a little better though. Pulled in around 2:30 on a Saturday for a late lunch, at first we weren't sure they were open as there was only one other car in the parking lot but not only were they open the food was spectacular! I had the Arroz con Pollo and my husband had the burrito deluxe, both were delicious! The chicken in the Arroz was grilled almost fajita style so it was tender and flavorful, perfect amount of queso on the rice and even the rice was flavorful. My husband was equally pleased with his two burritos- one shredded chicken and one ground beef. He said both were well seasoned and the sauce on top was not overpowering as it can be in some places. I also had a skinny margarita which was made perfectly! Often times margaritas are overly sweet or too strong but this one was truly balanced and if I didn't have errands to run after this lunch I would have for sure had at least one more!! They started serving Peruvian food and they need to just leave the Peruvian food to the Peruvian people. The Lomo Saltado is disgusting! As far as the ambiance, it's on par for a Mexican restaurant with bright colors and music but the temperature tends to be on the warmer side.
