Corvallis is a great town and we moved here we knew we'd be making some sacrifices in terms of the diversity and number of creative and delicious dining options. One of the first places I ate at when visiting Corvallis. I moved from the Bay Area and now living in Corvallis, I'm a regular. The sandwiches are very tasty! I've had their lemograss beef and the Daring, both are really good. Their pork Bao is really good! It has a boiled quail egg inside! Yum! Don't forget to ask them for some Siracha! This place is a polished gem, hidden in a college town! Best sandwich I have tasted in Corvallis! I am hard to please. My husband is a chef, and I have had delicious. My husband and I discovered Vietnamese sandwiches while living in the Bay Area, and couldn't have been more thrilled to find a place selling them in our hometown! The sandwiches and shrimp rolls are both tasty, but I'm not a fan of the peanut sauce they serve with the roll, too sweet for my taste. Fresh, simple and delicious. Bread was amazing and flavors were complimentary. My wife and I went there for lunch and were so impressed we went back to pick up sandwiches for a family dinner. Not a very big sandwich fan but this place is everything I like about sandwiches. I got the curry beef and bowl of chicken soup. The soup was ok but was SUPER hot so make sure you don't just shovel it into your mouth because you'll burn your tongue and not taste the rest of your meal. I love the curry tofu here! I always crave it and end up getting it whenever I go. Thai tea is also pretty good. Summer rolls are decent. red bean bao (sweet red bean bun) was decent. Update: The sandwiches are authentic enough. The bread is the biggest difference, but it's freshly made and has a whole wheat option... which works for me. The family that runs the place is lovely, and I'm routinely excited to visit their establishment and eat their food. A great lunch spot for a quick bite. I can't speak to authenticity, but it's quite tasty. Once the lunch rush hits there's no seating, but the few times I've been here I've managed to beat it. Go for any of the sandwiches and a bagged snack that aren't available many places in this country and you'll have a tasty midday meal. read more

Love this place! I get the Wheatie, which is a subtly pizza-flavored wheat protein substitute. It's much tastier than "wheat protein substitute" suggests. They aren't fast enough to be a super convenient to-go place, but I'm okay with that because I would be broke and obese if this place had a drive through window! Awesome vegetarian staple for me, and my meat eating friends seem to love it, too. We are a little too boring to enjoy the sweet balls, though. It's an acquired taste, I think. read more

Great Vietnamese sandwiches! The spring rolls are, as usual, superb. The stuffed pork buns are ok. The real draw is the inexpensive, filling, and great tasting sandwiches. I've had the original and the beef and I think my favorite is the beef. I had an "incident" with pate (not here) many years ago and I don't think my system ever forgave me for it, so I tend to shy away from it when I can. However, since I'm willing to try just about anything, I'll definitely be heading back there to try some of the other menu options and I recommend you do as well! read more

I have been to other baguette shops and have always been disappointed when compared to the quality of this small family owned baguette shop in downtown Corvallis. My favorite place in town to eat! First and foremost, the family that owns Baguette are absolutely delightful people and for me, service comes first...even before the product. The service is GREAT and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. The food is also fantastic though and I'd give them even more stars if I could. Their sandwiches are so scrumptious! I LOVE the pickled carrots they add to them and the flavors are so wonderful. The bread, I believe, is fresh baked daily and is so light and crispy....the last bite is always the best because all the tasty flavors have melded into the crispiest tail of the bread. If you're vegetarian or vegan they have options as well.....the Wheaties sandwich is SO GOOD, whether you're Veggie or not. They have "salad rolls" that I get some times as well that are also really good and a nice, quick option if you are cutting back on bread. Two years ago I lived around the corner from this place and I would walk there with my son at least once a week. Now I live in Albany and I'm so sad that I don't have the time to go get one of their amazing sandwiches as often as I used to. My favorites are the ginger chicken and the beef curry. The warm meat in contrast with the cold, crunchy veggies and topped with the spicy sauce is unbelievable. The best part is that the bread is soft but it doesn't start to fall apart toward the end like you might expect it to. Every bite is perfect. My mom makes me take her here every time she visits. I think that maybe visiting her grandkids is the way she justifies driving 1.5 hours to get a sandwich. Apparently, there is no Vietnamese Baguette place nearly as good anywhere in Portland. read more
