    Hand me a pizza

Very cool place with nice food and style in decoration. The restaurant is divided in two parts with bigger tables in the first part and with a stage and rounded tables in the second. They have a bar in the let s call it inside part where you can have a drink. The menu is interesting with Italian food options and is not a long menu. We asked for two different pizzas and they were tasty. It is not cheap but quality and inside of the restaurant is well worth. Early in the evening we didn't have any problem of getting a table but when we finished it was very busy. Staff are helpful and attentive. It is a place that I will definitely come back.

Bizarre. Just totally bizarre. Arrived without a reservation and were told to sit at the bar. Walked by loads of empty tables. Asked for a cocktail menus and got it third time we asked. Then the guy comes over and rips out the wine list, saying none of the wine is available. Sat at bar for 35 minutes and noticed a very familiar shelf of wines. I thought 'nah, they just happen to look like Lidl wine, has to be a coincidence, this is a wine bar after all'. After 35 mins we finally were given one of the empty tables we passed earlier. It really wasn't busy, no idea why we had to hang about for so long. Then I look at our neighbors and am 100% sure that a bottle of Lidl Multipulciano is sitting on their table. We order a cheese board. I shop in Lidl every day, I know their Tiger Loaf, their jarred olives, I have the Gorgonzola in my fridge and yet here it is sitting in front of us at a restaurant! The guy offered us two choices- red or white and low and behold, out comes Lidl Multipulciano as if it's the connoisseur's finest selection! I was flabbergasted, the whole feckin production was flat out Lidl stuff! We were wondering if cameras were going to suddenly appear and tell us we were at a Lidl pop up project, but no!! The clincher came at bill time. Multipulciano: €6.79 in Lidl. €32 in Bagots Hutton!! WTF! I know restaurants mark up wine but I thought it's usually well sourced stuff or whatever. And no I have nothing against Lidl, I love them but I don't expect to go out to a restaurant and find the stuff on the menu. Naturally we are Irish and hate confrontation so we paid the bill (eejits I know) and left. What is going on in this place!? Is it normal? I guess for Bagots Hutton every Lidl helps.

Where's the salmon? At least cheeseburger at Croke Park didn't forget the burger...

On our last day in Dublin, we had an early dinner at Platform 61, which we discovered through Yelp…read more-- so not quite a best-kept secret, but certainly a terrific hangout on South William Street. Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

The ambiance is very nice as well, romantic but also good for a fun night out with friends. 10/10 recommend adding this to your itinerary for dinner!
