I'll keep it short and simple. GREAT BAGELS & GREAT SERVICE! My first time here and they had a bagel called a Black Russian which I've never heard of so I asked the woman at the counter what it was and she described it as a pumpernickel-ish bagel covered in sesame seeds with a little onion flavor pizzaz .... how could I say no??!!?? I ordered it toasted w scallion cream cheese and a coffee. Bagel was absolutely as she described and PHENOMENAL! In addition to the employees being really friendly and helpful to me they also helped an elderly customer and her grandchild get up the step into the shop and seated which I thought was so caring. This is my go to bagel shop now ... good food and good service for the WIN! read more

Soft bagles and plenty of options - everything, garlic, cinnamon raisin, etc Great flavor - I got a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted everything bagel with salt pepper ketchup. A1!!!! This location has been through a few incarnations, yet all of them have made excellent bagels. Halfway between the traditionalist places like International in Belleville and the new school joints like Bagel Boy and BGL in Nutley, this spot across from Washington School is a happy medium. Get yourself a baker's dozen, try out some cream cheese, and enjoy a non-dunkin Sunday for once. P.S. I've never asked, but I think this is the same Bagels Plus that used to share a PathMark spot with Pizza And. If so, kudos on the second act. Went here yesterday (9/11) to pick-up a 1/2 dozen bagels. Unfortunately the bagels were not what we've come to expect over the last 2 years of patronizing Bagels Plus. The bagels were hard and just not fresh at all. Prices have obviously gonna up for everything and for $9 we expect much better. read more

The food was average-good but overpriced. It took over 25 minutes to make two sandwiches. Then once I heard them discussing my food, it was apparent they messed up the fairly basic order. There was only two people working and they clearly could not keep up with the orders in store and the call in's. read more

After today's experience, (I wish I could give 0 stars) after being a customer for over 5 years, A young lady claiming to be the owners daughter (a gentleman who is amazing!), obviously couldn't get the truth together. Staying over the phone "We've never made this like that before..." but when I came back in person to return the food, "we don't make it like that any more because of other customers..." but then tried to make it seem like it was my fault. The food has DEFINITELY DOWNGRADED since the last time I was there. Our bagels are completely burnt, bacon not even cooked... They aren't limiting people coming in, everyone looks like sardines in a can, the "owner" doesn't sanitize in between customers and she's touching food, food containers, money, bags, coffee cups, etc. but they're opening a 2nd location? Well best of luck, I really hope the Gentleman Owner is at the second location, that's starting this month. Because dealing with his "daughter" (consistently making sure to say repeatedly that she's the owner) wasn't lovely at all. It was unpleasant and inappropriate to a degree, and seemingly nauseating to watch her touch everything without washing her hands or anything. Smh. Especially during these times. We threw away the rest of the food when we got home, and didn't take a chance. Going to take a look on-bye at the other location soon. Not going to this location anymore if it's better. read more

Cutesy, Cozy, old school bagel shop. There were two nice ladies running things and they were super sweet. Not a large menu, but do you really need one? They offer everything you need for a quick pit stop to wherever you need to go. The music in the background were those soft, old school jams that you get lost in singing. Before I knew it, my order was ready and it was time to go. I purchased a sandwich on an everything bagel with a toasted blueberry muffin and seasoned potatoes. Everything was great! I stopped in because I was starving and had a bagel craving. Dunkin Donuts has better bagels. My sausage egg and cheese was pretty decent but the time it took for everything to get done was a bit much. Other people had been waiting for a long time as well. The bagels were smaller and tougher than most. Dunkin' Donuts has better bagels. The prices were cheap though. Overall I was underwhelmed. There are so many bagel places in the Bloomfield area and I'll try those instead. read more

Hands down best Taylor ham egg and cheese spk. The bagels are fresh and delicious. The employees are friendly and the service is fast.

They make good breakfast sandwiches. I know people complain about the wait time but when you have a place that makes great food that's what happens. Call in the order before going there. That's what i always do. The longest i waited was 45 min but hey it was worth it :D read more

Keep in mind this is your old school "hole in the wall" bagel spot. Nothing fancy and a small staff which doesn't mean extremely fast service and sometimes a small wait. The plus side to this is most of the locals inside are regulars and provide some colorful chit chat. Its always a small reunion whenever Im here. Now onto the food. I get my breakfast staple here....a taylor, egg and cheese on a bagel. Most of the time, this is a relatively flawless selection with very little room for error....but youd be surprised how many places try to skimp and overcharge. Not bagels plus. This is what a real, reasonably priced taylor egg and cheese is supposed to be....loaded with taylor and eggs. Always a great sandwich... always a good experience. This place is filthy and looks like there's grunge from before I was born (25+ yrs). They are amazingly slow.... Glacial pace doesn't begin to explain how slow they are. Definitely a hole in the wall place. Could be good or bad. Every time I've gone in its been nothing but disappointment. Bagels always feels old and hard. I have TMJ and need to eat soft bagels so this place isn't the place. The only upside to this place is that they've found a way to stay consistently cheap. Great Neighborhood Bagel place with a very welcoming staff. This is an old school place that has it's regulars who provide you with entertainment and conversation while u wait! Not many places like this left in the neighborhood. After a few times going in they know your name and know what you usually order!
