Just don't go to this Bagelman. The other two locations are way better and are consistent. If you want bagels sure but anything else is not good. They make bad egg sandwiches and deli sandwiches. Lazy to say the least. Their staff is also not friendly. My egg sandwich was burnt to the point where I had to throw it out. read more

Bagelman - Bagels Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

My issue with Bagelman is their consistency. I get the same order every time and every time I get something DIFFERENT from them. I always get a bagel with FRESH lox, cream cheese, cucumber, lettuce, and onion. I would say 8/10 times I get lox spread which, popular opinion, is gross. I'm over wasting my money on a chain that simply cannot get it right. read more

I haven't been here in over 2 years. It was a pleasant surprise to see the renovations. They have high and low top seating - nice flow not crowded and the bathrooms are away from the seating. We didn't have to wait and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. My husband and I moved out of Danbury 2.5 years ago and just moved back - literally the first thing he said when we knew we were moving back was, "I can't wait to go to Bagelman!" Obviously we will return again.... and again. Good to be back! read more

Food is great and service is always very speedy. Some of the staff (managers and possibly the owner) are a little rough around the edges. I am a New Yorker and used to a lot of this, but I still found it a little off putting. One visit one of the managers said something rude as I looked inside the bag of food she gave me. She had had my name wrong so I wanted to make sure it was what I ordered before I got in my car and drove away. I was just trying to be a responsible patron and not take someone else's food, but I clearly offended her. read more

Too many times ordering online and still waiting over half an hour after arriving (and arriving past the indicated ready time). Unhelpful staff. Fair bagel sandwich but really not worth the poor experience. Deleting the app, lost me as a customer. read more

Overall Bagelman has my favorite bagels in CT or just about anywhere. I've been eating them almost my whole life! Locations seem to vary quite a bit in other ways but I've never had a bad experience in any of them. There seem to be fewer locations than there were years ago but the ones that remain still seem to be going strong. read more

This is a super busy location so ordering online is the way to go but if you aren't in a rush, this location is the best! Customer service is always great, very polite, you can tell they are non stop and have a great system down to get the orders out ASAP. Everything on their menu is so delicious and their coffee is my absolutely favorite in town, even their decaf is delicious! I LOVE all bagelman locations but this location is my fav. read more

We ordered 3 sandwiches for lunch pick up. One the menu one is listed as a chicken cutlet lettuce and tomato sandwich... I picked my bread and added it to my cart no other customizations. The second sandwich was the balboa, I took off the peppers and asked for them on the side. What we ended up getting was a dry cutler by itself on a bagel. No mayo, no lettuce, no tomato...the balboa had no peppers but yet none were on the side which I paid for!! We tried calling over 2 dozen times and all we got was a busy tone. I get they were busy but accuracy with orders should be a priority! read more

If I didn't have to click a star I wouldn't have! Thats how horrible the customer service is here. The workers/management is so rude. They wanted to charge me $1.34 for a hash brown that the cashier forgot to put on my bagel when I specifically told him in the beginning of my order. I would assume for the inconvenience they would just add it without a whole hassle. This spanish woman that works here claiming she's the "supervisor" kept demanding that I pay for the hash brown when I was already upset that I had to get out my car and go back in. Then this White guy that I guess is the "Manager" asks for my receipt when the cashier didn't give me one. At this point I was already boiling with anger because I had to be somewhere and they kept fighting me for a hash brown. The Manager then told me "to not act like you're tough" and "to not talk back". If you ever read this you are a looser and piece of waste! You clearly don't belong in the food business and definitely not as a manager and I hope you guys get paid $1.34/ hr because you guys do a horrible job! In conclusion, do not waste your time in going here guys, you might as well make a bagel at home and call it a day! read more

I never usually have an issue here. Today I ordered online and went to pick up my order in the store. The girl was calling out names so I asked her if she is calling online orders as well. She said yeah and stuck a bag in my face as if I could see by looking at the bag that it was an online order. She did not ask me what my name was so based on what she told me I assumed I would wait for my name to be called. Another employee then approached me asked ''what is your name did you talk to someone yet?'m I told her my name and she informed me my order has been ready and sitting on the shelf behind the counter for some time. If the other girl asked me what my name was instead of basically ignoring me she would've figured that out. She had a nasty expression on her face when I asked her a simple question. I don't mind waiting if my order is not ready yet but she wasted 10-15 minutes of my lunch break for nothing. I ordered ahead of time and it was ready but I was not informed. Very poor customer service today but in the past I have had a positive experience. read more

Absolutely awful. Gave them a second chance after a first horrible experience but never again. The guys at the counter don't say hello and look annoyed that you are there. I was waiting for eye contact or a greeting before beginning to order and I basically just got nasty "I don't want to be bothered" looks. Then when I politely tried to order the first guy just looked over to the second as if I should only talk to him. Then that guy glared at me coldly. I started to order and then he quickly interrupted and said, "We don't have any more onion bagels." No "sorry", nothing. I just said forget it and left. Had the customer service been even decent, I might have chosen something else. Second and last time I will be treated that way by a business, and I didn't even make a fuss or do anything at all that would closely warrant such behavior. I can't even imagine if someone had a complaint how they would be treated. The Brookfield location is so much better, and Mill Plain Road is second to that one--people working there are fine, it's just more cramped and crowded so hard to find a place to stand or sit. read more

Will not do refunds. Ordered and paid for $5 egg and cheese over the phone for Sunday Breakfast. Turned out I ordered from the wrong bagelman. Refused to refund me the $5. Really? Like someone isn't going to order this sandwich within 5 minutes? Obviously doesn't put customer first and by looking at other reviews I am not surprised. read more

Slower than two senior citizens doing the funky chicken - and they never, ever, ever answer their phone for orders. Last time I got a sandwich, I grew a beard waiting for my order. read more

Horrible service, and always under staffed every time i go there. they need to get their act together, and start working as a team. they need to have people just working the register and taking customers orders only. I highly recommend calling in your order or order online, and just pick up it. but be aware it will probably be well over an hour, so don't except it to be ready in 20 minute. I've had the same experience at the brookfield one and one in danbury not on Mill Plain Rd. Not sure how Mill Plain rd is, but would assume it's the same as the others. read more

Make Your Bagel Great Again and come here. Place is amazing and the best spot for bagels in Danbury. I've never had a better Lox & Cream Cheese on an everything bagel in my life. They put nice, THINLY SLICED red onion on it and *crucially* the owners know the limit to cream cheese. That is, they know when enough is enough and when too little is too little and have found the sweet spot in between. More importantly, they've successfully and consistently impressed this upon their employees, as I have had my go=to order made by virtually everyone there on multiple occasions and it has consistently come out perfect. Lastly, don't sleep on their deli/lunch items - they can hang with the best deli spots around and we have a lot of them in Danbury. So that's the food. They have excellent service and while yes, they're busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings, the social scene more than makes up for it as the clientele they attract are good, pleasant people who, frankly, you want to talk to while you wait like two-and-a-half minutes for your bagel (don't worry, you'll live), which is about as fast as you can sling those things when you're packed for hours on end. They don't sell any vice items like many other deli/bagel shops such as lottery, cigarettes and liquor, so they don't get any of the riff-raff in for 85 cent coffee to go with their daily palette of assorted poisons. But I digress... Long story short, they're the bomb-bizzle my nizzle. I urge anyone who has been scarred for life by the girl over at the Brookfield location with the Hillary Clinton-level monotone and inhumanity to her voice, give Bagelman another shot and head on over to the Padanaram store this weekend, as its never too late to heal from heartbreak, and a proper "Everything w/ Lox/CC & RO" is the way to your soul. Make Your Bagel Great Again! read more

Somehow messes up online orders and makes customers wait. They are pretty nice about it but should consider checking their technologies.

Used to love this place, but lately the food & service has been terrible. Also, when you call an order in you have to pay for it over the phone with a credit card which is annoying when your intention was to pay cash. read more

If you're a Danbury native, you're aware of how legendary Bagelman as a franchise is. Fresh bagels daily, a plethora of cream cheeses to choose from, and some of the most godly breakfast sandwiches that are both delicious and simple. You can also walk out with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel for under $5. I've never had an issue with the staff, always friendly and willing to make whatever sandwich I throw at them (as long as it's on the menu). Had a long night full of drinking and feeling super groggy the next morning? This should be your priority. read more

Staff is very rude and bagel is burnt almost every time I order one, even when I say lightly toasted. The bagelman on Mill Plain Road is so much better, cleaner and nicer staff. Recommend going to that one even if it is a little out of the way for you. read more

I called in a catering order at the Bagelman on Padanaram Rd in Dby. for 12ppl, granted I called in at 4pm on a Thursday and was unable to receive all required items at the price listed on their website, but I was happy with what I was able to get. I was called back the next day and spoke to Valerie the "owner"; I was amazed at how rude, crude and all around nasty she was to me. She told me my order would be another 50$ for the same items AND I was lucky to be getting the order at all because I called after the cut off time. I had no idea there was a cut off time for catering order and I asked why the price had increased another 50$ to total $132. She then proceeded to tell me she was DONE and hung up on me, mind you they already had my credit card information, my reluctant acceptance of the new price and she hung up on me. Of course I called back and she told the guy on the phone she wasn't in, classy. The food was delivered at a now discounted price of only 110.00 plus tax; the sandwiches were not bad and everything I ordered was delivered on time but the simple fact that Valerie was such a pig to me I will never buy from her deli and I will make sure no one I know does either. read more

I can honestly say the largest group of the rudest and unhappiest employees work here. I've come to bagel man for quite sometime hoping it would change just once but never a nice experience. All the way from management to the one cooking. You walk in they stare at you with a negative face, don't greet you and act like it's the end of the world that you're ordering a coffee or a bagel. Hence the name bagel man. Can never get an order right, then blame you for their mistakes. Nor do they answer their phones for pick up. read more

Extremely disappointing. The "egg sandwich" was pathetic. It seems like only half the egg made in into the "sandwich." The owner was a complete asshole. The service was slow and really really bad. I grew up in the Danbury area and remember that Bagelman made good breakfast sandwiches. Well, that is not the case now. First, when you first walk into the store you are greeted by a bunch of people standing around. Not really sure if they are waiting for their order or to place an order. There is no rhyme or reason to determine which is what. So when they called the next person to place an order, I just went up to the counter and started ordering. Then a woman stepped forward and started to complain that there were other people ahead of me. If there was some sort of system, this situation could have been prevented. Next, the person who took my order did not exactly have a bubbly personality. My order was very simple and she seemed I was asking for a seven course meal. I wanted the bagel sandwich that was advertised right in front of the register and she had no idea what I was talking about. They ended up screwing up my order anyway. The coffee I ordered was scolding hot even though the coffee cup and cardboard holder. When you pick up your order, they just handed it to you and did not even ask if it is here or to go. There are just bags placed on the counter and did even offer to bag it for you. Overall, it was a very mickey mouse operation and I hope the other locations are managed with a little more professionalism.... read more

I often frequent this place either in the morning for a muffin, or for lunch as they are about a minute away from my job. Last 2 times, the staff has been rude and have told me some items are not available, when I clearly either had it before or was given the item the day before. My co-workers often get lunch there as well. Well today, I'm done. The girl that helped me today was rude, and as I was speaking my order to her and her writing it down, she wasn't putting all the info on the paper. I usually get the same thing for lunch - Cheesesteak on a grinder with hot peppers. So all of a sudden today, I was charged an additional .75cents for the peppers. Which is fine, but please tell me it's extra, or be consistent with all your customers. My co-worker gets the same thing, and because he speaks Spanish to the girls there, he gets fairer treatment. I may not look like I speak Spanish but I sure do. Food is great, but the service is terrible, and I'd rather take my hard earned money to a place that will better appreciate it. Attitude is everything, especially when you're dealing with the same people that are helping you stay in business. read more
