In all fairness to Bagel World, they have ample help to keep the lines moving but the paying part is a disaster. So many customers by the register that it causes total chaos. Food is good, prices on the bagels are a tad high though. The old grouchy woman behind the counter has yet to crack a smile in the many times I have been there. We catered breakfast from Bagel World- Monroe while renting a house in Chester, Ny for my husband's birthday weekend. We did the hot buffet and continental. Wow what a spread! Everything was amazing - especially the French toast! Which you would think wouldn't travel well but it did! Ordering was breeze over the phone with Keith. Delivery man was very nice and set up all the sternos and food. It was so much food! And all very presentable and yummy. Highly recommend!! Wish we didn't live so far :( read more

I love bagel world, it's my go to bagel place in Monroe. The staff is always very friendly and they're able to get through the line quickly even when it's crowded. The only con that I would say is the prices, which recently went up. Except they do now take credit cards which is convenient when you're get a lot of bagels/sandwiches etc. read more

Absurdly overpriced. Just ordered 2 pounds of turkey and 2 pounds of cheese for my 3 year olds birthday party and I was charged $70. When I asked why so expensive, they told me it's higher price for a catering order. Catering? I picked it up at your store and carried it out to the car myself. Well went in for two bagels toasted with cream cheese. Simple enough. Saw the bagels put into the toaster, not complicated at all, it was however very busy there was no ticket for my purchase. The lady who took my order was making sandwiches meanwhile I am at 10 minutes looking at my bagel ready for cream cheese being passed around like a baton at the olympics and another attendant asking a co worker who this belongs too. I interject saying it's mine just scallion cream cheese on both. "Well I am working on another customer". Ever since I can remember my friends and I have been coming to bagel world for delicious soft fluffy bagels and a fantastic array of deli style sandwiches. The bagels here are big, I'm talking you have to squish it down just to bite into one, and with a crispy outside and soft doughy inside these bagels are the best no matter which of their many varieties you happen to choose. What really makes this place great is that 1. they're cheap 2. the bagels are amazing, and 3. their sandwiches (especially the breakfast sandwhiches) You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches on the menu. My personal favorite is a combo of hot pastrami and corned beef on a marble (rye and pumpernickel) bagel with spicy deli style mustard. Food was good, service was slow and order was wrong. Got a bacon egg and cheese with home fries. It took wayyyyy too long for the bagel to come out. People who ordered spots behind us got their food well before us. They forgot to put home fries on the bagel but I was charged for it anyway. By the time I got the food, paid, and ate, it was a 40 minute ordeal (way too long for a bagel breakfast). The only reason they got 3 stars instead of 2 is because the food wasn't terrible. This review is for the Central Valley Location which opened a few months ago 3 Major complaints .. 1. Ordered an ice coffee..i added almond milk to it and Curdles plop into my coffee....i show it to the girls behind the counter and told them the almond milk was curdled and asked for a new container of almond milk...They didnt have any so i left with no coffee 2. Without naming names..a female worker with sores on her face was wearing plastic gloves that she kept wiping her face sweat with and proceeded to make orders..after observing that i turned around and left..will never return to this location again..it was stomach turning 3. Female owner extremely unfriendly and does not appreciate anyones business..an owner should acknowledge guests...smile and thank you's..even if its fake..after all we're putting hard earned money in her register And as a side note dont hire heroin addicts to work there...its very unprofessional i gave to stars because some of the girls who work there are very sweet read more

We have finally found our local bagel joint! Delicious sandwiches and salads. Breakfast special that includes a small coffee or hot chocolate. This is the only legitimate bagel place we've found close that serves all the basics plus blueberry and flagels. Great value...we will be bagel heroes when we get home if we don't eat them on the ride back! read more

Stopped in for lunch. They have a good selection. The cons I asked to use the restroom. I was lead behind the counter, thru the kitchen and into the most disgusting, filthy restroom I have seen in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately for me I had already eaten and when I was on line waiting to pay and being ignored I overheard the staff talking about a mold problem while they were bleaching the cooler next to the food prep station. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Usually Bagel World is my go to spot, but after today I need to find somewhere else. After ordering, I was rung up for my sandwich, tipped and stood in line by the coolers waiting for my order to be ready. Once it came out I was handed it and went to leave, being screamed at by one of the girls, claiming I did not pay. Having known people in there, I was first and foremost embarrassed for being screamed at, and also upset since I paid not even 5 minutes before that. It took a few people in line behind me to convince the girl I paid, after I told her I would wait for her to check the video cameras seeing that she had just rung me up. MAYBE if she didn't spend all her "down time" between taking my order and waiting for it to be made by talking to her friends in Spanish (whom didn't even order anything) she would have been able to focus on her actual customers. Very disappointed in their choice of employees for the later morning hours, nobody is better than the women who are there in the early morning, but I can't see myself going back anymore after this. read more

If I were reviewing just the bagels I would give them 4 stars, sometimes they're better than other times but the bagels are always pretty good. Breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and cream cheeses are all good too. I have two bones to pick with Bagel World. The coffee isn't great, I actually have a tough time even considering it good. I buy it purely because I'm too lazy to make another stop and always regret my decision. Second bone to pick is the ordering process. It is the most unorganized and frustrating system. You have all these customers penned up in the corner of the shop waiting for their food meanwhile they're blocking the drink coolers, coffee counter, baked goods and register. It makes absolutely no sense, only thing that makes sense here is that they keep the newspapers behind the counter and there's no signage for them. Thank goodness we found this place a few years ago after moving up from the city. These bagels are just as good as our fav city place, That is saying a lot. We've been going here for over eight years. This place has the best bagels in the area. We have family from NYC that agree that you can put their bagels up against anyone's. Haven't sampled much else because you really don't need more than butter or cream cheese, but the cucumber dill cream cheese is delicious. Bacon, eggs, and home fries are all tasty too. read more

central valley locale review here. they had a sign stating that you ordered from this location in the L shaped prep area. i waited patiently to order a buttered roll and a bagel with chicken salad. it took 15 minutes for them to give me what i ordered. that's with two people in front of me. the prep area was crowded, and everyone was intently working, but on what? how hard is it to organize the cold and hot prep? there was a rude older woman there, who kept having to swipe my card over and over and it wasn't working, so i had to go two doors down to get her cash. all in all? twenty minutes for TWO cold items. i have returned once to find that they abandoned the stupid ordering station and just take people in front of them, which is logical. i desist from patronizing them further because i'm turned off by the crusty salads and flies in the deli case. gross. go to jorge's instead. read more

This bagel shop is like water in the middle of the desert. Very busy, often a line but their bagels are good and they offer healthy options like egg whites whole wheat bagel sandwiches. I think it's cash only though. Mainly a takeout place, has a few small tables. Also makes lunch sandwiches. read more
