a counter with a variety of snacks

Warning, reader discretion is advised. This review isn't pretty. It's not for the faint of heart. I only look for three things to enjoy my experience at a restaurant or deli; food, atmosphere and service. So when I goto a place that fails to get at least one of them right, you know they're not getting a good review. I came here for a egg sandwich, I walked into the establishment and saw right away it was busy. Looking around I noticed it wasn't the best of conditions, but it also wasn't the worst I've seen. When I finally got to the counter I was not greeted by any one of the 7 or so woman that worked there. Maybe they didn't see me I mean I'm only 6'2". So I waited until they had time to take me. I placed my order and waited. I was hungry so I couldn't wait to eat. Once it was ready I pulled out my debit card and tried to pay. The lady told me it was a $10 minimum. I told her charge me a extra .50 cent to cover the swipe charge, the other place I goto does that for me. She told me wait while she gets a manager. The lady came over and said "no," buy something else. She tried to sell me things I didn't need. She was worse then a car salesman. Finally after being embarrassed and frustrated enough, I left with no food. I could not believe I walked away feeling like I committed a crime by trying to pay. Needless to say I'm never going back there again. I mean I am in no mood for being portrayed as a bad guy over a egg sandwich.

    Apparently what $12 gets you

I am so surprised this place doesn't have 5 stars. The bagels are scrumptious and the people are nice!

By far the best Lox in town! Hand cut super thin and it's always fresh. Bagels are great as well!

Your standard Long Island bagel place, and one of very few in the Port Washington area.

The service was definitely good; as I walked in, I was greeted, and three ladies and one gentleman all asked if I was being helped while I waited for my sandwich. The shop was clean and there was no loud music. This was a great stop after my puppy's vet checkup since it's only a minute away!

I was in the area for a meeting and pulled over for a quick bite. The menu at Let there be bagels is HUGE. I was temporarily overwhelmed and then spotted the chopped salad. I'm trying to make better decisions during work travel, so I filled out the form, chose a bunch of healthy morsels and waited a bit for my salad to be thoroughly chopped. This was a REAL chopped salad...and there was so much left over that I had the rest for dinner when I arrived home the next evening. My colleague scarfed down his bagel and he really liked it. The staff was lovely and they had a steady stream of regulars in and out. There's a small seating area in the center if you're not planning on taking your foodstuffs with you. I'd definitely visit when I'm in the area again.

Several days each week I would…read moredrive from my home in Great Neck, and pick up my order of half a dozen egg sandwiches on toasted bagels or a pound of lox cream cheese and a pound of veggie cream cheese. This ritual went on from 2015 - 2019. My family and I loved the food from MB. Fast forward to 2020 and now my family and I live in Manhasset. MB has a different owner and the quality in my opinion has gone south. The bagels now are bigger but are way too dough. I recently purchase a pound of lox cream cheese and there was barely 2 or 3 little oueces of fish in the pound of cream cheese. The sausage, egg and cheese and bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwiches leaves a lot to desire. My kids now get all their breakfast sandwiches from Orlando's. When it comes to our hankering for yummy bagels, we go out of our way and hit Munsey Park Bagels on Northern Blvd. MPB has a wide variety of freshly made bagels. They have the freshest lox, veggie, scallion and jalapeno cream cheese available anywhere. In fact you actually taste the delicious smoky lox in every schmear and bite. Their tunafish salad is to die for and is always fresh and reminds me of the tunafish salad my mom used to make when I was growing up. The only thing better than the food at Munsey Patk Bagel are the people who work there!

Every bagel place in the NY-area feels like they have to make a black and white cookie, and they don't. I'm a big fan of B&W's and cake icing doesn't belong on this cookie (texture-wise), yet the flavor of the black and the white side was pretty mellow (which was good). The cake bottom was too thick and a little too dry.
