Usually I enjoy going to Bagel Pub early mornings. Always feel a good vibe when entering this place. Today however felt different, I went to the register to pay and the cashier had an attitude with me and literally slammed my ice coffee on the counter. I understand that some people may have their good and bad days- but that type of energy latches on to the customer. I felt as if I did something wrong to her. So I wont be going back there for a while because it left a bad taste. read more

Horrible service, I understand if its busy & things are moving slow. But having cashiers that just be on they phones & ignore customers is another thing. The only saving grace of this place is the big white dude who calls out orders. Definitely, not eating here for awhile, better off getting a corner store sandwich. read more

Bagel pub is a prime breakfast spot. The bagels are always fresh and there are more varieties of cream cheese than you could ever wish for. I generally opt for the chipotle lox, as it is the perfect balance of smokiness, spice and salt. ABC (avocado bacon cheddar) is another breakfast sandwich that never disappoints. There are also several lunch options; I find the cranberry apple chicken salad to be delicious on their rolls. Although most of the sandwiches are fairly priced, bagels are on the higher side, usually ~$5 with cream cheese. It is generally very busy on weekend mornings, but the line moves fast. Service is ok-It's not really an intimate/cozy coffee shop where you can relax on a weekend morning, as it tends to be busy with limited seating and pick-up at the counter, but if looking for fresh bagels, this should hit the spot. read more

If you like a heaping slab of cream cheese on your bagel then this place is for you. I ordered the lox special, toasted, and what I got was a giant piece of bagel, not nearly toasted as I was expecting with subpar quality lox. The bagel was hard to bite into and once I did all the cream cheese oozed out from the sides. Meh. I would go somewhere else for better lox bagels. read more

Really really good bagels, and I appreciate that they have vegan tofu cream cheese! I come here frequently. I took off a star because they get my order wrong like 15% of the time. They always remake it when they mess up though. read more

Bagel Pub! I have nothing to compare you to but the greatest goodness on earth! At all times of the day you will be able to find something in this place of business. Oh! But where do I begin? Early Saturday morning, in the mood for something really good! Thankfully my sister lives down the block and gave THE BEST recommendation to come here. If you are even considering, just do it! I guarantee you will find something(s) there. My partner got an everything bagel with chives, and I got two cream cheeses (smoked salmon & chives and guacamole) which they separated for me to have two half sandwiches. We both got smoothies, Papaya Sunrise and Honey Blue! Delicious, to say the least!! The a couple days later we got a salad with mixed greens, mozzarella, tomato, mandarin oranges, cucumber, and the mix of their house balsamic glaze and house balsamic vinegar. NOT ONLY was the food amazing, the employees and their customer service are fantastical! Working through the fact that the business is booming, the staff keep smiling and assisting the needs of all customers! Very hard to find! Lawdamercy. I cannot wait to return to this sacred house! Thank you so much for your services and ALL that you are!! Please continue to be great! read more

Bagels are fine but service is terrible. Order got lost, they wouldn't admit it and were nasty while issuing a refund after waiting for over 25 minutes. Plenty of other choices with better service in the area. read more

Wow, I always eat bagel and lox, but this was beyond amazing! The bagels are NY style, they had multiple different cream cheese flavors, and fresh smoothie/juice bar as well. The best part was when I received my lox and bagels sandwich, they loaded the salmon! So flavorful and fresh. read more

This was one of my favorite places when I first moved to crown heights! Coming from Texas, I've been dying for some real bagels and I was always more than fulfilled every time I stopped. This place was a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Can't say they have the best bagels in town, also can't think of a place with better bagels. The staff is nice. Gets crowded but line typically moves fast. My only issue is getting my bagel as I ordered it. I also ask for double or dark toasted. This is what I hot today after standing in line for almost 20 minutes. In the effort to move bagless out of the door, it seems they have lost an attention to detail. read more

Best bagels in the neighborhood. Fast, clean, friendly. I get one every weekend. I had a turkey club wrap once and it was only ok, but the chicken salad is spot on. Great little cafe tables outside too. read more

In the interest of fairness, I'll begin with the positive: the food is decent and is worth the wait about 60% of the time. In the interest of speaking my mind, every experience I have in this place is worse than the last. The wait is insane and typically disproportionate to your order (in other words, you'll wait 30 mins for a toasted bagel with cream cheese). If you're adventurous enough to brave this place on the weekend, I'd literally prepare myself for an hour-long experience, which, given the number of staff members behind the counters, just makes no sense at all. What compelled me to write this particular review, though, was my most recent experience, which occurred last Saturday. As usual, it was stupidly crowded but since I had anticipated this anyway, it didn't bother me much. The staff, though, is what bothered me. I swear, there must be thirty people on staff at a time, and none of them seem to do anything. When I eventually approached the counter to give my order, the mouth-breathing "manager" who is always wearing a black Yankees hat and just seems to lurk around and stress everyone out (customers included), shouted "next" into my face, then proceeded to look everywhere but at my face or at his notepad as I tried to give him my order (spoiler alert: my order came out wrong). I also noticed that once he was done "taking my order," he simply walked away from the counter and someone else replaced him. I've also seen him handling food and making sandwiches. So basically he does a little bit of everything, and does it all horribly. Then, when I went to pay, apparently I pressed the wrong button on the Square tablet as I went to sign for my debit card transaction. This sent the girl at the register into an apoplectic meltdown. She literally threw her hands in the air, rolled her eyes dramatically, and began screaming for her manager, as I had apparently just ruined her weekend. Ultimately, when the issue was resolved, she slammed my receipt down on the counter without saying a word. She then forgot to give me an iced coffee, which I had ordered as well. When I reminded her, she also slammed that down on the counter. The irony is that I pressed the wrong button in an attempt to tip her. I definitely won't be making that mistake again. All while this was happening, another member of their NFL-roster-sized staff was shouting out orders. (As an aside - why do they ask for your name if they just yell out your order anyway?) A guy behind me approached the counter and said something like, "Oh, is that a banana smoothie (or whatever he ordered)?" and the girl responds, without even attempting to hide her disgust, "Yeah, I looked you right in your face and called your name." And then - you guessed it - she slammed the smoothie down onto the counter. When I did eventually get my food, it was bad. Cold, tasteless, bland. Just bad. Bad enough to send me to Yelp to air all this out, while I had tabled similar feelings in the past because the food had been okay. But this experience sent me over the edge. Trust me, people. There are a lot of places to get breakfast or lunch in this neighborhood. There are also a lot of places to get breakfast or lunch in this neighborhood where the staff won't make you feel like a total idiot or blame you for not understanding whatever their system is, will most likely get your order right - and, hey, you might not have to wait half the day in the process. read more

Bagel Pub has saved my life many times. Its delicious. Bacon is always crispy and the bagels are soft.

I really really want to like this place. After a bad first experience, I've gone back 3 times hoping it would improve, but each time it has gotten progressively worse. The problem is with the staff and management, not the food. There are generally 10-15 people staffed on weekends and consistently 0 staff assisting customers. They're all wandering around in the back dazed and confused. On my most recent visit, I waited in a line of about 15 people only to get to the counter and have the staff disappear into the back for 10 minutes. I keep returning because the bagels are really good (although pricey). The service is just so bad that it offsets everything else. If you're adventurous enough to try this place, consider ordering online. You won't have to deal with the staff and your order will likely get preference over customers in the store. I'm a big fan of Lula Bagel on Nostrand. Smaller, cuter, tastier, and definitely friendlier. read more

I look forward to going to The Bagel Pub! I see a doctor every month and the Bagel Pub is about 5 mins walking. The place is always so packed, the bagels are pretty good, the male staff is very nice. But the female staff is very hit or miss. They just act differently and I don't like that very much. The 5th staff is taken off due to female staff and it's pretty pricey! I got a large iced tea and it costed almost $5!!!! If it was organic/direct trade I'd feel better about throwing 5 bucks down. The tea is very good but so pricey! They have a lot of bagels! Even blueberry which is can't find everywhere. Plus the tofu cream cheese is really cool because I'm horribly lactose intolerant! I come here anytime I can. read more

Earlier low reviews for this place were based on their newly adjusting staff/service as this place was really new. Don't be fooled! This place deserves high ratings. The bagels here are your fluffy and delicious New York bagels that you expect and the choices of cream cheese are stellar. The sausage, egg, and cheese is my go-to breakfast sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The cheese was melting and gooey, the egg was cooked well and the egg Bagel I got was yellow and fresh. The place gets really crowded on Weekend mornings around 10:30am so try and come earlier if you can. Their smoothies were also very good! I got the Peanut Buttanana and it ranks up there with the top Peanut Butter Banana smoothies I've had in the city and its outer boroughs. read more

UPDATE: bumped them up another star because of how great the owner has been. She immediately reached out to apologize and explain that they were training a new person and that this wouldn't happen again. Customer service is a big deal and they've got the right idea. I love Bagel Pub. Love them - but this is unacceptable. Happily waited in line for 25 minutes to order a bacon, egg and cheese on an egg everything bagel. I know they're busy, but that's because they're good. What I am not okay with is getting back to my apartment, unwrapping my Sunday morning spebreakfast...and finding a lump of gluten burnt beyond recognition. Who thought this was okay? If you burn the bagel don't just say "oh well" and throw it into the bag, TOAST ANOTHER ONE. This is not the first time my bagel as been burned, but never this bad. Shameful. read more

I come back for the food, not the service. Pumpernickel everything bagel with chipotle lox shmear. It sounds like conflicting flavors but just trust me on this. This Crown Heights gem is easy to go in and out of before 8:30am on weekdays on your way to work. Weekends for brunch it's just packed. For good reason. Their home made "infused" ( for lack of a better word) cream cheese list blew my mind. I want to come back many times and also try some of their juices. This place seems better for taking food to-go for a stroll or picnick in Prospect Park. The folks sitting inside seemed a bit cramped. And the service is flat out grumpy. read more

These guys do bagels very well. I've never had a bad bagel here. Their cream cheese selection is pretty diverse so there's something for everyone. Iced coffee is your typical bagel place coffee, so don't expect fancy stuff. Which is not a bad thing. I prefer a non fancy coffee with my bagel anyway. They also have smoothies and stuff and although I've never had those I hear a lot of people ordering them. My only complaint is the very long lines here - but that just goes to show you they do good work and have a solid loyal customer base. read more

A friend recommended Bagel Pub for great bagels while visiting NYC. When we arrived, the line wasn't too bad and moved very fast. I was in awe of the variety of cream cheese spreads and how good they all looked. Orlando doesn't have anything like this, but we need it ASAP. My friend and I each ordered a bagel sandwich and split them. She ordered the smoked salmon bagel and I had the egg, bacon, cheese, and avo bagel. I can't remember what kind of bagels we ordered ( everything and salt bagel I believe), but they were both really good! They were fresh and fluffy and not super. Our order was fast considering how busy it began to get. I liked that they offered fresh pressed juices and fruit smoothies as well. We were able to grab a table and dig in. The employees were pretty friendly and the other customers seemed to be enjoying their meals as well. I am so glad to gave Bagel Pub a try. It was worth the drive from the Times Square area on our way back home. My friend is a New Yorker and said they were some of the best bagels she has had while visiting NYC. read more

The men who are behind the counter to make bagel/take orders are so rude. Poor customer service and are always showing forms of discrimination. They pick and choose who they want to serve /greet immediately. The bagel pub is in a neighborhood that's diverse it's no reason why I should experience this treatment every morning. It has gotten to a point where I no longer order food. I just order a ice coffee and leave due to the fact of always getting poor treatment. I can definitely feel , see the difference in interactions they give my other counterparts out of my race/ethnicity. read more

I like their menu, but the people behind the counter (cash register and juice bar) usually have this attitude like they can't talk to you. I've stood in front of the juice bar waiting to order, and the girl behind the it, just continued to fill up her containers of fruit and chat with the person behind the register. I ended up ordering a bagel, getting a ticket and THEN going to the cash register and ordering a juice. The cash register person barely said anything to me, and when I wanted a treat from the pastries, just kept looking outside while I was ordering. Like I said, they act like you are a bother to them. Also the other day, I went to get a juice at 525 pm, and they told me, sorry we closed the juice bar. I said I thought you close at 6, and they said "yeah! But we already cleaned it" geeeezzzz sorry to bother you with my business! I've worked in the food industry, and when you are open, you are open (period). read more

Ever since this place started pushing people to order via mobile app and online, the in-store service has tanked. Every time I come in it's a minimum 30 minute wait AFTER I order a bagel. It is constantly restless customers standing at the front of the store wondering how the people who came after them leave with their order first. Bagels are good, but with the expensive prices and lack of humility with consistently bad service doesn't justify paying $11+ for a bagel and coffee. read more
