Always passed by during the construction trying to imagine what a bagel pub would look like. It's here and I decided to stop in for breakfast. Honestly really good looking establishment. Very clean inside and out. Definitely hipster vibe with great music. Most of the seats were taken. No worries had to hurry to the plantation so I was taken my bagel to go. Registers surrounded with staff ignoring you as you walk-in. I kept walking and a saw a sign that said order in the back. One person in front of me. Ordering went off without a hitch. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel, well toasted with plain cream cheese and bacon. I was given a paper with my order on it. No explanation whether to wait there and receive my order or go to the front and pay and wait. I decided with the latter to speed up the process. There were 3 cashiers chattering away behind the register area. Only one of them was actually ringing up customers. 5 of us were standing around waiting to pay. After about 5 minutes a second cashier decided she wasn't being paid to talk for a living and started ringing people up. Alas I'm next and this same cashier yells next. I cringed as if I just heard the screeching sound you hear when nails are dragged along a chalkboard. Pet peeve of mine when in a establishment and being summoned by the word next. Like I'm standing in line for free government cheese instead of paying $5 for a damn bagel. I begrudgingly walk up to her and she doesn't immediately greet me. I briefly misplaced my ticket. Have a eureka moment and quickly retrieve it from my pocket. Then she greets me with a hi how you doing. Doesn't even wait for a response before she tells me the price. I whip out my debit and hand it to her. She hands it back and turns the tablet and says sign here. I tip even though I shouldn't. She quickly murmurs thanks have a nice day and before I can even get my card back in my purse she yells "next". Calling another calf to slaughter. The bagel was delicious. Love whole wheat, love everything and the fact that I can have both in one shot I'm happy. Not to mention its a well made NY bagel. The bagel was well toasted like I asked. Which seems unimportant but you'd be surprise how many "well toasted" bagels I received with no color or burnt. So kudos. The cream cheese was enough but not too much and bacon was salty and greasy how I like it. The bagel was big and I stayed full until lunch. Overall if you can overlook the chatterbox, not that friendly staff and the confusing unorganized matter that is Bagel Pub. It's a solid bagel spot. I know its been about a month BP but please tell your cashier staff if they insist on talking they have to learn to multitask and move their hands just as much as their mouths. I was excited to try this new place in my neighborhood but I found it disappointing. -1 star for bad layout: When I came in there was no direction at all. All the workers were just talking to each other and totally ignoring their customers. I had to go up and ask them "Is this where you order? What do I do now? Where do I pay?" Granted, this was at an off-hour where there wasn't a line so it was hard to tell where to go but regardless, I think a place that just opened up should know how to let new customers get acquainted. They definitely weren't very good at that. -1 star for disappointing cream cheese: I got the jalapeno cheddar cream cheese and it only had a sprinkle of tiny jalapeno pieces which weren't even spicy and there was no cheddar in it at all. +2 stars for good bagel: The garlic bagel was solidly tasty despite the lackluster schmear. +1 star for fast service: I got my bagel quickly which is good for someone just stopping by on their way to work. read more

In the interest of fairness, I'll begin with the positive: the food is decent and is worth the wait about 60% of the time. In the interest of speaking my mind, every experience I have in this place is worse than the last. The wait is insane and typically disproportionate to your order (in other words, you'll wait 30 mins for a toasted bagel with cream cheese). If you're adventurous enough to brave this place on the weekend, I'd literally prepare myself for an hour-long experience, which, given the number of staff members behind the counters, just makes no sense at all. What compelled me to write this particular review, though, was my most recent experience, which occurred last Saturday. As usual, it was stupidly crowded but since I had anticipated this anyway, it didn't bother me much. The staff, though, is what bothered me. I swear, there must be thirty people on staff at a time, and none of them seem to do anything. When I eventually approached the counter to give my order, the mouth-breathing "manager" who is always wearing a black Yankees hat and just seems to lurk around and stress everyone out (customers included), shouted "next" into my face, then proceeded to look everywhere but at my face or at his notepad as I tried to give him my order (spoiler alert: my order came out wrong). I also noticed that once he was done "taking my order," he simply walked away from the counter and someone else replaced him. I've also seen him handling food and making sandwiches. So basically he does a little bit of everything, and does it all horribly. Then, when I went to pay, apparently I pressed the wrong button on the Square tablet as I went to sign for my debit card transaction. This sent the girl at the register into an apoplectic meltdown. She literally threw her hands in the air, rolled her eyes dramatically, and began screaming for her manager, as I had apparently just ruined her weekend. Ultimately, when the issue was resolved, she slammed my receipt down on the counter without saying a word. She then forgot to give me an iced coffee, which I had ordered as well. When I reminded her, she also slammed that down on the counter. The irony is that I pressed the wrong button in an attempt to tip her. I definitely won't be making that mistake again. All while this was happening, another member of their NFL-roster-sized staff was shouting out orders. (As an aside - why do they ask for your name if they just yell out your order anyway?) A guy behind me approached the counter and said something like, "Oh, is that a banana smoothie (or whatever he ordered)?" and the girl responds, without even attempting to hide her disgust, "Yeah, I looked you right in your face and called your name." And then - you guessed it - she slammed the smoothie down onto the counter. When I did eventually get my food, it was bad. Cold, tasteless, bland. Just bad. Bad enough to send me to Yelp to air all this out, while I had tabled similar feelings in the past because the food had been okay. But this experience sent me over the edge. Trust me, people. There are a lot of places to get breakfast or lunch in this neighborhood. Early Saturday morning, in the mood for something really good! Thankfully my sister lives down the block and gave THE BEST recommendation to come here. If you are even considering, just do it! I guarantee you will find something(s) there. My partner got an everything bagel with chives, and I got two cream cheeses (smoked salmon & chives and guacamole) which they separated for me to have two half sandwiches. We both got smoothies, Papaya Sunrise and Honey Blue! Delicious, to say the least!! The a couple days later we got a salad with mixed greens, mozzarella, tomato, mandarin oranges, cucumber, and the mix of their house balsamic glaze and house balsamic vinegar. NOT ONLY was the food amazing, the employees and their customer service are fantastical! I really really want to like this place. After a bad first experience, I've gone back 3 times hoping it would improve, but each time it has gotten progressively worse. The problem is with the staff and management, not the food. There are generally 10-15 people staffed on weekends and consistently 0 staff assisting customers. They're all wandering around in the back dazed and confused. On my most recent visit, I waited in a line of about 15 people only to get to the counter and have the staff disappear into the back for 10 minutes. I keep returning because the bagels are really good (although pricey). The service is just so bad that it offsets everything else. If you're adventurous enough to try this place, consider ordering online. You won't have to deal with the staff and your order will likely get preference over customers in the store. These guys do bagels very well. I've never had a bad bagel here. Their cream cheese selection is pretty diverse so there's something for everyone. Iced coffee is your typical bagel place coffee, so don't expect fancy stuff. Which is not a bad thing. I prefer a non fancy coffee with my bagel anyway. They also have smoothies and stuff and although I've never had those I hear a lot of people ordering them. She immediately reached out to apologize and explain that they were training a new person and that this wouldn't happen again. Customer service is a big deal and they've got the right idea. I know they're busy, but that's because they're good. What I am not okay with is getting back to my apartment, unwrapping my Sunday morning spebreakfast...and finding a lump of gluten burnt beyond recognition. Who thought this was okay? A friend recommended Bagel Pub for great bagels while visiting NYC. When we arrived, the line wasn't too bad and moved very fast. I was in awe of the variety of cream cheese spreads and how good they all looked. Orlando doesn't have anything like this, but we need it ASAP. My friend and I each ordered a bagel sandwich and split them. She ordered the smoked salmon bagel and I had the egg, bacon, cheese, and avo bagel. I can't remember what kind of bagels we ordered ( everything and salt bagel I believe), but they were both really good! They were fresh and fluffy and not super. Our order was fast considering how busy it began to get. I liked that they offered fresh pressed juices and fruit smoothies as well. We were able to grab a table and dig in. The employees were pretty friendly and the other customers seemed to be enjoying their meals as well. I am so glad to gave Bagel Pub a try. This Crown Heights gem is easy to go in and out of before 8:30am on weekdays on your way to work. Weekends for brunch it's just packed. For good reason. The bagels here are your fluffy and delicious New York bagels that you expect and the choices of cream cheese are stellar. The sausage, egg, and cheese is my go-to breakfast sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The cheese was melting and gooey, the egg was cooked well and the egg Bagel I got was yellow and fresh. The place gets really crowded on Weekend mornings around 10:30am so try and come earlier if you can. Their smoothies were also very good! I got a large iced tea and it costed almost $5!!!! If it was organic/direct trade I'd feel better about throwing 5 bucks down. The tea is very good but so pricey! They have a lot of bagels! I like their menu, but the people behind the counter (cash register and juice bar) usually have this attitude like they can't talk to you. I've stood in front of the juice bar waiting to order, and the girl behind the it, just continued to fill up her containers of fruit and chat with the person behind the register. I ended up ordering a bagel, getting a ticket and THEN going to the cash register and ordering a juice. The cash register person barely said anything to me, and when I wanted a treat from the pastries, just kept looking outside while I was ordering. Like I said, they act like you are a bother to them. It is constantly restless customers standing at the front of the store wondering how the people who came after them leave with their order first. The bagels are amazing and they have a big selection of cream cheese varieties and spreads and all I tried so far were delicious. As you can see in the pictures the staff put a lot of cream cheese on the bagel and that's amazing. Besides that you can even get drinks like coffee and smoothies here. Favorite Sunday morning breakfast. The lines are usually long if you go in the morning but they move relatively quickly. The bagels are always fresh and soft (I love their blueberry bagel!) and they have what feels like thousands of cream cheese options and spreads. I always order a Hulk smoothie, which taste fresh and delicious. They have a variety of fruit juices and smoothie options. I will warn you that you need to keep an eye out for your drink order. When this place is packed, the staff is a little overwhelmed and you need to be on top of your order. Your food might come out before or after your drinks, just pay attention. The food and the drinks here are fantastic, the service is solid, if at times crazed, but they're trying, I tend to give them a break. It's the best place. I'm always here on Sunday mornings, take my food to go, and sit on a bench on Eastern Parkway or walk home and plant myself in front of the TV for relaxing (and cheap) morning at home. read more

My husband and I and in- laws have been coming to the Bagel Pub since they first opened. Although I never really am inspired to write reviews, today pushed me to another level of needing to let the community know. Bagel Pub has great bagels, delicious food but usually it's a long wait and wrong orders. In the past I've had horrible interactions with the cashier girl where I'd have to come back and argue about the price. They would charge $1-$2 more than what is advertised. I later caught on to tips added off my debit that wasn't asked for. It happened a few times that the girl recognizes me. After a nice break from Bagel Pub I started to come back, and today, the cashier was extremely rude, and slammed change into my hand after I asked why there was a price change between a debit and cash transaction. I was reminded why I took a break from here. She then smiled when I looked up to her. I asked for her name, and even if this is not her name, Diana has always made my experience at the Bagel Pub unpleasant. I don't ask for much, but I do demand respect.
