$9 for crap
Ayaaz M.

I ordered a flat bagel with cream cheese. Bill came to $9. I thought it was expensive but maybe that's what it is. As I'm waiting for my pricey sandwich, I notice the menu and see that a flat bagel costs $1.99. So now I'm wondering , could the cream cheese be $6.00? I asked the girl behind the counter and she looks at me with a smug look and says "Ya, that's the price. It includes labour". I'm speechless. To top it off, the bagel actually sucked. Too salty, too hard and cream cheese was barely on the bagel. Never coming back and no recommendations.

Mold on two day bread at Bagel Plus.

On Friday, I bought a loaf of bread at Bagel Plus. On Sunday morning, the bread began to show signs of mold. This is not the first time I have bought bread from Bagel Plus. Before I finished the bread, it turned moldy. I have bought other bread at another baker and did not have the same issue. Sorry Bagel Plus is under new management, but no improvement. I am not going back there anytime soon.

A delicious home cooked family meal! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. I came here with a few friends for brunch and had one of my best breakfasts ever. I ordered the Greek omelette with an everything bagel, and shared a few desserts. Everything was fresh and tasty. The rugelach was one of the best I've had! (right behind Marzipan in Jerusalem) The staff was so welcoming and you feel like you're having breakfast in your zayde's kitchen. I will be back!

Bagel Plus is the one of the most sanitary bakery I been in the area. All the bagels are inside a glass cabinet, all neatly labelled. You can see exactly what they have for the day but if you want to buy any, the staff have to pack that for you. The trade off is you cannot really cross examine what you are getting. Especially the sweet and pastries they are all kind of hidden behind some waxed paper. Most of the baked sweets are sold by weight... and they do have brownies and butter tarts too! More than half of the store space is dedicated to a sit down cafe. You can get bagels in all style, eggs in different style and salad and other light meals.

These two places are great, but Bagel Plus stands head to head with any Jewish bakery in the damn continent.

I recently ate my entire stash of bagels from both trips. The good news is that Kettleman's is coming to Etobicoke this fall. I still needed bagels, though. I headed to my local grocery store recently to get some. They weren't and aren't the same. On Saturday, I visited St. Urbain bakery and cafe, which makes a variety of Montreal-style bagels. I was in heaven looking at roughly a dozen different bagel flavours at the back of the store. A older woman asked what I'd like. She didn't come across as being warm. I asked for six sesame and six cheddar bagels. She said that it was $0.25 more for each cheddar bagel. I was good with that, although she didn't wait for me to acknowledge that I was good with it. I got all bagels in a paper bag. Yay! I thanked her. I was so happy. I felt like I had won the lottery, except that I had to pay for my goods. This bakery offers cakes, cookies, flatbreads, and more. I decided to simply get my bagels before I cleaned my entire chequing account out at this store. The woman at the counter was much more personable. She put my goodies in a plastic bag and threw in a couple of bagel bags. I used my debit card to pay. Credit cards aren't accepted. You can pay with cash, too. I have had both bagel varieties since my visit. They are soft and chewy where they should be. The cheddar is brilliant and yummy. I've never had a cheddar one before until now. It's worth shelling out a bit to have one. There is something about crispy, oven-melted cheddar that tastes delicious. I made myself an egg salad sandwich today. Some like celery in it. I do, but changed it up with green onion. It's so good with the sesame bagel. This bakery is in a plaza with parking all around it. There's a huge Starbucks cafe a couple of doors down, so it does get busy. I parked on the opposite side of where this bakery is and walked over. I'm glad that I can get my fix without doing a huge road trip out east. I am thrilled that I have found this bagel place. I am a happy Montreal-style bagel fan. (374)

We came here at around 1 o'clock on a Saturday and there was a short lineup with the queue to order moving pretty swiftly. They had a small insulated canteen with cups where you can get water. The actual weight for the bagel sandwiches took a long time. We luckily got a spot on the patio and waited for our bagels there. The girl shouts out the orders name inside and if no one's in there, she goes out to the patio to bring it out. It was a really good bagel. I got the bodega and added bacon and it was nice and salty with some cheese and some sauce and on the weekends they have their za'atar bagels so I got it on that and it was delicious. I would come back again if it weren't so far from me.

I ended up with the Bodega bagel which had a variety of fillings that had the perfect mixture of creaminess and savory. The sauce in it was sooo delicious. My friend got the egg and cheese breakfast bagel and decided to add bacon to it, and it's perfect if you want something simple but filling! The place was poppin on a Sunday morning on top of the workers needing to make more bagels and cook the fillings so we waited about 35 minutes for our order. There were a handful of coffee shops nearby, so we decided to walk around and grab a cup of coffee while we waited. There were only bar seats that had about 6 chairs in total, so be prepared to snag a seat when you can to eat your bagel right away.

And The tuna is not the best as well. I wished they used solid white tuna but obviously it is a cheaper tuna product. They have been here a while though so they must be doing something right I try to stay away but come back every few months to torture myself. Do I recommended? Hard to say. If you want a below average bagel, maybe some low quality tuna or horrendous service? Then be my guest. I'll still get my bagels from Bagel World or Kiva's They are much better products than here.

Location: Bayview North of Steele's in the Longos plaza Parking; There's a lot of free parking. It's pretty busy because the longos and it's near a Ramona's kitchen. But there's always parking. The place,: It's tiny when you first walk in you go to the spot where all the bagels are and you pick them using tongs into a bag is pretty tight in that area and you go around to where they bring out the bagels and then around where they're sweet treats and a counter. At this counter if you grab a bagel you can give it to them and get a sandwich made out of it my favorite is a toasted chicken salad no vegetables. You pay extra for vegetables and I'm too cheap to pay like a dollar for some cucumber. They have all different kinds of bagels the most popular is the rainbow bagel because more often than not it is low or not there. But don't fret because they're constantly making bagels all day and chances are there's something that's still warm to the touch because they've just brought it out! You also have some cooked food such as falafel and other things I've never ordered it but I know people that haven't said that they really like it. I am sticking to my chicken salad bagel. I think the chicken salad is delicious. I do notice that a lot of people get the egg salad and my friend swears by the smoke salmon and cream cheese. It is seriously tiny so the seating situation is zero but people don't realize, or some people don't realize, that that's actually a little mall and if you exit the store on the side you come upon a seating area where there's about 20 seats.. I've never not had a seat. I would like a lot? Yes of course I've been back many times this is one of my favorite bagel places. And let me say it again because I don't think the million other times I said it was enough, I love their chicken salad sandwiches.
