I visited Bagel Exchange on a weekday around 8:00 AM. I needed to park on the resident street around the corner on 2nd Street. It's a small store with a few seats inside. There is a unique stock theme, which is showcased through their menu and the TV. I was able to place an order right away, but there were a few people already waiting for their orders. I ended up ordering a Stocks N Lox on an everything bagel and a Latte. The Latte was ready in 5 minutes, but the bagel took a longer wait. The latte came in a unique bottle. The bottle made it easy to mix and drink on the go. However, when opening, I had an issue fully opening it (required a bit more pressure). For the Stock N Lox, it includes cream cheese, onions, tomato, veggie, and salmon. Everything tastes great together and the salmon was fresh. The best bagels I've ever had! I'm officially addicted - I've tried day old bagel packs here through TGTG and I've also ordered fresh bagels right when they open. Both are delish but I prefer ordering just sleeves of fresh, doughy jalepeno cheese bagels. The texture of these bagels are soft and doughy with a chewy consistency. Seriously want one right now just thinking about it. I've ordered bagels from Goldbelly that come straight from NYC and they don't even compare to these. Cannot wait to get them again soon read more

This bagel shop on Main Street stuck to their finance theme with their breakfast "portfolio," their drinks called "liquid assets," signage, and more. I had so much fun just identifying the stock market lingo all around the shop. They even had the 4-TV signature for you to see live stock charts and financial news. The bagels themselves? Good, for my investment of $8-$10 each. They also looked like they had a diverse portfolio of bagels, I saw about 20+ different flavors of bagels! The staff were super quick but I got the vibe they were too cool to smile a bit hahaha but I'm not complaining. They were pretty fast and efficient, I got 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees in less than 10 minutes. If they wanted to stick to their theme more, I'd recommend having fun with naming their sandwiches, like "S&P Everything Bagel" or like a "Bear Market Sandwich" or something, now I am having just too much fun haha! I was craving a NY bagel and I know, I know, that it's not the same here. Bagel Exchange is kinda on my way home from volunteering in DTLA, so I decided to drop by this past week and try their "Lox and Stocks" which is open-faced with smoked (or salt cured?) salmon with a slices of tomato, white onions and capers. I went without the sprouts since they taste like dish soap to me. It was salty goodness, of course. I like that they only toast your bagel if you ask them to. I don't like melty cream cheese so I never like mine toasted. My husband liked the other half. It's rare that bagel places in L.A. serve them open faced, so I appreciate that aspect. Nice open set up. Feels like a cafe, as most places do. There is the theme of the NYSE, which I get and it doesn't cut corners with that. The service is quick and pretty no-nonsense. The only suggestion that I have is that they describe a bit more what "The Exchange" and other specialty bagel options in written menu form so that the staff doesn't have to constantly explain what that is. I'm not going to describe it here (1) because I forgot; and (2) to make a point. I know what it's like to be in the service industry; please help your workers out. read more

I came after looking up strong coffee, but saw how cute the cans were, and how light it looked and assumed I wouldn't be impressed. I was wrong. The coffee is deceptively strong and good. I got the cereal latte and my husband got the Vietnamese. If you get the cereal, its good, but drink fast. The cereal will get soggy at the end, and it tastes better crunchy. I got the lox and stocks bagel. It was good, but warning, there is a lot of raw onion. If you need to smell fresh you may not want that. Its just really weird customer service. I went twice just to make sure because the bagels were really good and coffee was fine. But first time employees didn't even wanna take my order would rather just talk not even making coffees or anything just dusting even though they definitely saw me, dusting is more important. When I finally was able to have my order taken he walked away in the middle of it...then a girl walked over and finished my order. When she did that I thought maybe they charged extra for my bagels on accident and the girl said youre good and expected me to walk away but I asked for my receipt and she handed it to me and walked away. So for example I asked how the sandwiches worked do I pay for the bagel and then the price listed on the board on top of whatever else im ordering from the menu also (how I was charged yesterday) he named 3 that werent on the board and didnt answer my question at all. So I asked about how im seeing BLT 0.50 and I asked what is that if its not one of the sandwiches how does that work and he was like its a bacon lettuce tomato... ok so is it 50cents + price of bagel I choose, is it actually 50 cents or is it supposed to say $2.50 I just wish someone would explain it to me... So I still dont know how this place works. To make it worse It was early in the morning and the store is blasting weird Blade vampire rave music in minor keys SUPER LOUD. Vibe is horrendous. Literally like...a nightmare nobody listening or caring, im tired/confused and the most unsettling creepy untz-untz music BANGING early in the morning. Smells a bit like burnt bagel in there if that's your vibe. Service was great and friendly but honestly it took a bit too long. We waited 40 min for our sandwiches, our iced coffee melted, hot coffee cooled. I'm confused because there are 6-7 staff back there, not sure what the bottleneck is. I also wish this place offered hummus! Instead of just cream cheese and butter. I don't think I'd come back unless we had a LOT of time to kill. Ever since we visited NY and tried the best known places there for Bagels, I'd been craving them for some months now. It just so happens that we were staying in the area for the weekend and were looking for a good breakfast option before heading off to work.....and a breakfast bagels popped into my head, and after yelping for some places, the Bagel Exchange came up.....so off we went to try it out. Just along what seemed to be a main road was this mom & pop style bagel shop.....very cool looking interior, very casual and comfortable, and that display of many varieties of different flavored bagels!....wow! Of course, there were some really delicious looking croissants, muffins, etc., but I had to stay focused! The guy who attended to us was super nice, very friendly, and so helpful. Others eventually attended to us too, and they seemed equally as nice. So, we went ahead and ordered an Egg White & Cream Cheese with Sourdough Bagel and a Veggie, Egg White, and Cream Cheese with Garlic Bagel. Daaaaang! Not only were the bagels a very good size ....not like those baby sized bagels you find elsewhere.... they were fluffy, medium dense with a nice chew on the inside, and a light cruunch on the toasted outide. Ok, they are not as dense on the inside as those I'd tried in NY, but still had a very satisfying bite to it. Everything that went inside our bagels ....egg white, cream cheese, veggie....tasted so fresh, and was oh so delicious and comforting! This was most definitely a great way to start our day! And not to mention my wife's coffee.....she said it tasted SOOOO GOOD! I'm not a coffee drinker so have to take her word for it....she knows good coffee! I must say that I really enjoyed my early morning Sunday morning breakfast bagel here.....and with those large TV screens on the wall, I further enjoyed my breakfast bagel whilst watching bitcoin and stock prices in real time, watching the national debt growing by the second, and the latest news :) We will definitely be back the next time we're in town, but in the meantime, we went ahead and took advantage of their amazing deal of buying 6 bagels for just $10! Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. Wow! We've all had the grocery store and Costco bagels. They're decent on day 1, but it's downhill from there. This is your opportunity to try and AMAZING fresh bagel from a local business! I originally came here to grab a $4 of day old bagels (great deal!) Because I've tried them (my friend buys them regularly) and they're still great 2-3 days later! I ordered "The Exchange" breakfast sando on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The sando was great. Filled with egg, sausage, bacon and a light (airy) cream cheese spread. Flavor was balanced and bagel was amazing! Also, I'm a big guy and usually want something more, but this sando was huge and filled me up. It was cut in half for easy maneuverability. The Vietnamese iced coffee came in a nice clear bottle with a "soda can" lid. Nice strong coffee flavor with subtle sweetness and milky flavor. This is my second favorite spot to grab viet coffee now. This will be my #1 goto for it if I am stocking up a few sealed cans for a trip though! Service was great. I had a few questions about the sando I ordered and they were answered promptly. The seating area is small (few tables), but definitely more than enough for a place this size. Mad at myself for not trying out this place sooner. If you are a bagel fan (like me) and you live in the SGV where there's not a lot of bagel places, you have to give Bagel Exchange a try. Their bagels are reasonably priced and loaded with deliciousness. We ordered the avocado blt and the classic breakfast bagel with egg cheese and bacon. Both were so good!! Also tried out their iced latte. The drinks are served in a can and it's so cute! The coffee flavor is strong and definitely has a nice coffee to milk ratio. The service is super friendly and you get your order fast. The inside had a few chairs and tables if you prefer to eat there. All in all, such a pleasant experience & good food. If you're familiar with the area, then you know parking in front of restaurants is almost not likely, but if you're lucky there is limited 2 hour parking in front! Which is nice and convenient, otherwise, you can park at the garage and take a little stroll. The bagels are freshly made daily. When I got there, they had sold out of a few flavors but never the less I was still able to get my lox bagel. They also had flavored cream cheese that rotate and I tried the ube cream cheese on a rainbow bagel. It was a tad sweet, but fun for kids for sure. The calamansi drink comes in a cool soda pop bottle with a soda tab on top. For $5 the drink was fabulous, refreshing, and different than just having orange juice for breakfast. There is limited seating in there, but takeout is always a good idea too. I overhead the staff discussing personal matters pretty loudly while there were customers waiting for their orders. Attentiveness to customers and professionalism could be something to work on. read more

Great bagels, literally the best dirty chai I've had, amazing decor to go along the stock market and themes of success, and always -- ALWAYS-- great music playing. We got too good to go and that was definitely worth it for sure but I don't think that it would be worth it without the app so for those that don't know what too good to go is, it's an app where restaurants charge a fraction of what their normal cost would be in a given day for food that they're either going to toss or donate, definitely worth checking out. I went up to check and the employee said they would check. Minutes passed and still nothing. Went back up to the counter and asked again. Super underrated place! I came here on a Tuesday around 10:30 am to do some work and they were also nice enough to allow my dog in there. It wasn't too crowded with 2 tables available and one other person in line. I got the Exchange, which is your choice of bagel (I chose the everything bagel), sausage, egg, your choice of cheese (I got provolone), bacon, and cream cheese all in one bagel sando. I was going to eat half and save the other half for later because I thought it was a bit big...but it tasted so good, I couldn't stop eating. A huge plus that everything came out pipping hot and fresh! I also got the matcha green tea latte with oat milk which was also very good. You can really taste the authentic matcha in there and it's a bonus that it comes in a super cute bottle! After staying here for a few hours, I wanted to buy a bagel before they closed so I got a garlic bagel with chives cream cheese (also asked them to make it toasted)... so yummy! If you are a huge bitcoin person, they have stocks/bitcoin info and some NFTs hanging around the shop. They also have a bitcoin ATM, a printing station, wifi and a ton of board games. Restrooms were super clean as well. Service is great (Jesse was very attentive and friendly), they are dog friendly, parking is plentiful in the lots nearby, ton of things to do there, and food/drinks are superb! I'd probably come back here for the build your own bagel sandwich because I wish I added some spinach or some sort of veggie in my bagel (which now I see that I could've added it for 50 cents).
