I want to say firstly that the place has the best bagels in the area hands down. The trouble is the wait and the layout. The place is almost always packed and people waiting are packed into one side of the store by a divider that separates a eat in dining area that takes up the majority of the space (Personally I find the idea of eating in at a bagel place strange but to each their own). When they do get to your order they are fast in preparing it but somehow there's always a person or two complaining about something or wanting some elaborate bagel or sandwich slowing everyone else down. You simply cannot just go into this place and get a dozen bagels to take back for your family without committing at least a half hour of time. Maybe they should have a way of prioritizing or separating lines for people who don't want deli items or salads and other nonsense. The bagels are very big and really good. The tuna salad is always a favorite for me and everything here is very fresh. I really enjoy the customized salad station and the amount of toppings you can get for a really good price. A lot of things seem overpriced for a bagel place, even if it is better quality. I can't justify spending $13 on a sesame flagel with tuna. The line is also very long and you should expect to wait a while if you go in the morning, especially on a weekend. The line is always to the door simply because the food is amazing. Completely worth the wait for one of their amazing chopped salads. Okay, so I've been to this place a few times. I found it because I usually go to this shopping center on my lunch break. I've had the sandwhiches and I liked them pretty good. The pastries look very good, but I never tried them. I like the fact that they do chopped salads alot and I liked the custom salad menu alot to. The reason why I stopped going is this. A few months ago a bunch of us from the office got salads. One of us saved the salad for dinner and when she got home she found a roach in her salad. She called the next day and the male manager who she asked to speak to was very nasty when he told her and was unapologetic. I never saw any bugs in my salad but still the thought skeeves me and the fact that management was so rude to her made me not want to go there again. Their eggs were slightly overcooked, but (didn't taste terrible) they know how to place their cheese correctly onto the eggs (on top and in the middle), which was melted in really nicely. Unfortunately, their coffee doesn't come included with their egg sandwiches and neither does their bacon and/or cheese. Even though most places will include bacon and cheese (e.g. Burger King or 7-Eleven) with the egg sandwiches for no additional cost. So wasn't willing to pay extra just to try their bacon nor their coffee after spending $3.53 for just 2 eggs and cheese on a roll, which is a bit pricey considering 'The Everything Bagel Of Commack' only charges $3.00 for the exact same thing. read more

When you call and tell them, they apologize and say they will be back with what your order was missing. They never come back. Has happened twice. Never again. My wife and I noticed the Bagel Chalet from eating at a diner in the same shopping center. We decided to try them out. We were pleased with the assortment of choices they offered. When our food was ready , we took it to the dining area. We were appalled at how filthy the empty tables were, about four or five tables were not wiped off, and loaded with crumbs,etc. However, the food was tasty and the coffee was good. Dozens of fresh ingredients to choose from and you can build your own one item at a time with a simple paper menu, then their salad chef makes your meal to order right in front of you.
