I am a gluten free vegetarian, so finding places to each that are also accommodating and friendly can be hard to find. I was in Ogunquit for vacation and came here every single day. Best gluten free bread I have ever had, fantastic, friendly service and a casually warm environment. I loved the music selection every time I went in (frank Sinatra type) and the local "artist of the month" displayed on the walls. Personally I had PB&J, egg cheese sandwich and i think what was called the "beach street" (hummus and veggie loaded sandwich) and tea with honey. Everything was yummy and promptly prepared. My sister, who is not a big coffee drinker by nature, couldn't get enough of the iced coffee here. She said it was SO good and came back a few times each day for more. I would highly recommend stopping in to anyone in the Ogunquit area! read more

Breakfast was really subpar. We got the breakfast bowl and a breakfast sandwich. The eggs seemed like those spongy eggs from a carton and the cheese was not melted and cold. I've come to Backyard twice now while vacationing with family in southern Maine. I normally have to do some work during the week of vacation and have found Backyard to be a great place to sit down with a laptop. It's a little bit out of the crowded center of Ogunquit which is nice. It's fun to people watch, being from out of town. The coffee is good and the food is too! I had The Shore sandwich: tuna salad, tomato, and capers on delicious moist French bread. I'm sure I will be back here with my laptop next year! read more

We found this place on our last day in Ogunquit and loved it. Excellent espresso drinks. We had double macchiatos (which were not on the menu but they will just add a shot of steamed milk into your double espresso). My son had hot chocolate (if it came from a powder mix, it was a very good powder mix!) and a cookie and we split a cheddar biscuit. Some of the more substantial breakfasts and sandwiches looked and smelled promising. Nice little outdoor patio tucked away off the main road. They welcome dogs outside. Highly recommend. read more

Don't miss this place if you are in Ogonquit! After visiting "the other bakery on Maine St" you may be tempted to believe you do not need to look any further. However, trust that if you walk another 1/10 of a mile to Backyard you will not be disappointed for breakfast or lunch. Both places are great but, but Backyard has a much greater selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches (all of which are made fresh to order). The bakery items, specifically the scones are super tasty and always fresh. The coffee is high quality and there is ample seating. I'll definitely be back! read more

We stopped in here for a quick breakfast and loved it! We each ordered a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. My boyfriend had his on an everything bagel and I had mine on gluten free bread (+$2.00 I believe). The sandwiches came out hot, the eggs were very fresh and the bacon was perfectly cooked. Their baked goods are great, particularly their scones which have just the right consistency. Their breakfast sandwiches are also great. They have a nice shaded patio outside as well. Cool vibe and good coffee, although wish the coffee was a bit stronger. Like others, had the automatic tip added to my order without me realizing it. I almost always tip but didn't think it was cool it was added without me realizing it. Many many businesses use the iPad system and the customer can select tip option. Find it odd it is preselected tip for this business. Hope this business can sort this out as it is likely rubbing many customers the wrong way. read more

Have you ever been to a place where you go back up for a second drink or the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming that you want tot stay. This is that kind of place. Excellent lattes, fresh baked goods and healthy lunches. The coffee is from Portland's Bard coffee which is high quality. The prices are a little high but you are paying for some good stuff here. Service was good and they seem to know there work but not overly friendly. When in Ogunquit this is a must visit , if not in town just go there! read more

Great to have a new breakfast place in OGT. I love the decor (look up when ordering!). I had a delish cheddar chive scone....tender & crumbly good! Hubby had a yummy egg & cheese sammy on toast. Most importantly, the coffee was spot on, a great way to start the day. We'll be back before we head home...gotta try some of the tasty sounding sandwiches! I (surprisingly) had the best lobster salad there--with ginger iced tea to wash it down, finished off with a fantastic gluten free oatmeal chocolate & berry cookie that they make there. Excellent coffee and sandwiches (especially the "Perkins Cove" and "Main St." Owners are friendly and warm. Also a great place to get some work done if need be (and one of the only places in Ogunquit with free wifi!)
