Wifey and I are new to Marion, meaning we are experiencing new places to eat at that didn't exist in our last town. This is one of those places. Maybe we should have passed on it. Ambience was as expected for a clean fast food restaurant. Service was excellent and professional. Food.....meh! Wife got the Classic burger combo: American cheese, onions, mayo, lettuce, tomato. Fries and drink included. I got the Swiss burger combo: (requested double patty/extra cheese and no lettuce), Swiss cheese, mushrooms. Didn't realize it came with a tomato and (too much) mayo. Ugh! For some strange reason, we both took a bite of our burgers at the same time. I watched in disbelief as grease(?) came gushing from her burger (as mine did). Burger had a weird taste, seemed like it was not cooked thoroughly, and lacked seasoning. To add insult to injury, the bun itself literally was disintegrating in our hands. Not a good eating experience! To be fair, Cajun(?) fries were well seasoned and delicious plus our Coke Zeros were very satisfying. Price was a little more on the high side for fast food. Wife and I rated our meal a "one and done". Not for us, but maybe for you. All I know is, from now on, I'll be eating well grilled cheese burgers in my own backyard instead of theirs. read more

Where do I start! Turkey burger is a very processed patty that should not be served to any human or animal For that matter!! I ordered drive thru but went In to use the restroom when I opened the door a worker was in the first stall with their cellphone on the bathroom floor!!! Watching a movie or something, they immediately said "who is that??!" As I entered. I did not reply and watched the worker grab their phone off the floor, I Went into the stall and heard watch run as if they washed their hands but the phone was on the floor and I am Sure they will use their phone throughout Their shift . I told a worker upon exiting, but food was terrible grease needed to be changed and properly heated as fries were soaked with grease and not Crispy at all. I will not return and want You to watch yourself if u eat from this place I had indigestion for two days after eating two bites of the turkey burger I will never forget that awful taste smh!!! read more

Best turkey burger I ever had. The customer service is GREAT. I came here for lunch and brought my 7 month old grand daughter with me and the lady made her a free lunch, very sweet of her. It's hard to find people like her nowadays. I will continue to be a customer here when I'm in town. read more

This place is just overpriced fast food! I'd rather go to Jack-in-the-Box. Too bad there isn't one around. I walked it and it looked like your typical fast food joint. You order, you go get your fountain drink, and then you sit down until your food is ready. The service is better than at a McDonald's or Burger King if you can imagine that. I ordered the Chicken club while my fiance order the steakhouse burger. We also had the criss-cut fries and seasoned fries to see what was better. The Chicken club was overly salty and for some odd reason, sour. The criss cut fries sucked. They were not very crispy and overly oily. The seasoned fries were the best, but not worth the drive all the way to Marion. I would skip this place and go to your nearest McDonald's or Steak n' Shake. read more

Visited Back Yard Burger recently when I was in the area for work. This establishment is trying to convince you that you will be getting much more than you actually do. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience is nothing more than fast food... and not even good fast food. Waffle fries - generic. Turkey burger - worst I have had (I don't see how this didn't come out of a box). Don't be fooled by the trendy sign like I was. Foodies will not be impressed. I ordered a veggie burger, the burger was frozen in the middle, they did re-make it and give me complimentary fries, my friend ordered a turkey burger, halfway through her burger, she found some hair. This was my first time visiting a Back Yard Burger. Perhaps I should have ordered a burger but I decided to order a chili cheese dog and small onion rings instead. The first thing my group noticed was that my SMALL onion ring had several more onion rings than the LARGE orders placed by others in our group. They tasted OK but there were far too many. While this could be seen as generous, it frustrated my hungry friends who had ordered and paid for the larger size. The chili on the chili cheese dog was flavorless and watery. Hands down the worst tasting chili cheese dog I've ever had, including the ones served to me in my elementary school cafeteria many years ago. The burgers may or may not be good (I'll have to return and try one sometime) but I strongly advise against ordering the chili or the chili cheese dog. read more

I want to give this place 5 stars bc I love their food. But the restaurant itself needs some work inside. At the drink counter cabinet doors are hanging on one hinge and has been that way for awhile. Not the cleanest place. They updated their floor and hung a tv (thats never on and cords just hanging). Just needs some work inside and out. Went thru the drive thru for dinner tonight (6pm-ish) ordered chicken strips and a blackened chicken burger. Chicken strips were good. The Blackened Chicken Burger was the worst I have ever experienced at this place. It was obvious it had been sitting there for a while. The chicken was.... maybe pressed fake meat? The sauce that was used on it was disqusting and the bread was soggy, old and wrinkly. One bite in it came apart in strings (as in pressed) and I'm not sure if it was microwaved, grilled or fried. The inside of this restaurant is absolutely disgusting. The cabinet the soda fountain is on has doors broken and hanging off. The soda machine has the appearance of never being cleaned. You leave smear marks on the bathroom wall if you touch it. It's covered with something that resembles soot. And today, Nov 23, 2019, I saw a dead roach on the floor near the register. This is one of the best fast food places to eat burgers! They have the best burgers by far! The burgers are juicy not dry like at alot of fast food restaurants, they have excellent flavor and the fries are great too! The price is a little high, but once you eat one of their burgers you won't care about the price, you'll be hooked! Great burgers always on point usually busy especially during lunch but the bugers are fresh and worth it

The food was pretty good for fast food. My problem was the service. My order was simple and fine. My wife, however, ordered the chili cheese fries with her grilled chicken sandwich. The server was confused as to how to ring the chili cheese fries in so she requested help from the "manager". After ordering we went and sat down to wait for our food. They brought my food out about 5 minutes before my wife's. When they brought her food out they had only the sandwich and when we asked about the chili cheese fries the runner looked confused and just walked away without saying anything. He then came back and asked to see her receipt. At that point we realized the receipt had 2 sodas on the purchase instead of one soda and an order for chili cheese fries. Instead of offering to bring us the fries no charge (since it was their mistake) or even offer for us to pay the difference and get the fries we had ordered, the runner again just walked away without saying anything. He then a few minutes later returned with a refund for the extra soda and again walked off. At no point did a manager approach us to apologize and/or offer to fix the problem. So instead of going back to the counter to re order the fries, we left. We were going to order a milkshake as well after our meals but decided that the place didn't deserve any more of our money. So we went to steak n shake and got a shake instead. In conclusion, the food wasn't bad but the service sucked. read more
