The music was up way too loud, then they turn it up even louder on certain songs and for the line dancing. The food was good for the most part. 2 people ordered shrimp which was dry and a little burnt. They did make this right with new shrimp. Choose a different location. Stopped at Texas Roadhouse in Marion for to/go dinner while traveling through southern Illinois. Their online ordering is useless without internet access while on the road. Their phone ordering system was terrible. My wife was placed on hold 3 times before finally getting a human to take our order. However- while picking up the order, our Jeep's starter went out. We had to have it towed to a repair shop at 7:00 on a Sunday night, and had to leave our travel trailer in the Roadhouse parking lot for 2 days while the shop worked on the Jeep. The staff and management at Texas Roadhouse were very understanding and accommodating ! Plus- The dinners we picked were delicious. Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. The service was poor, and the restaurant itself was filthy. I ordered a steak that came out undercooked, so I sent it back. About 10 minutes later, they brought out two noticeably smaller pieces of steak, and they were still undercooked. When I complained to the manager, she insisted it was the exact same steak and that it had simply taken 10 minutes to cook it longer. It was clearly was not the same steak, and more importantly, it was still undercooked. It would be impossible to cook a steak another ten minutes and it comes back undercooked the second time. What bothered me most was how the manager handled it. Rather than simply acknowledging the problem and trying to make it right, she argued with me about what was on my plate. Between the poor service, improperly cooked food, lack of cleanliness, and terrible management response, I would not recommend this restaurant. My wife and I were passing through Marion and stopped at Texas Roadhouse. Big crowd on a Monday night and we enjoyed sirloins and salads. Food and service were good and prices were competitive. Chain steakhouses get a bad rep sometimes for the faux over-the-top western decor and the less than stellar menu options, but if one can get over the corny birthday celebrations by the line-dancing wait staff and the crowd noise in the dining room that's almost at the level of a rock concert, there are good things going on here. Great food as always. The drinks were tasty and we went during 1/2 price time. The steak was tender, the sides were delicious. The only thing that made me give this 4 stars instead of 5 is they didn't have tables available and 3 of us had to sit in a booth. I specifically asked if we could sit at a table and the hostess said that section is closed. How do you close a section with tables and force everyone into a booth? This was our first visit to the Marion location. I will be honest, it's not my vibe. Loud music, wait staff line dancing in the middle of the aisle while you eat, long wait times, everyone yelling, especially when you are seated right next to the kitchen. They would yell "Coming in" very loudly every time someone walked by our table so they don't collide at the entrance of the kitchen. But, we had a gift card to use, so finally decided to fight the crowd and give it a try as to not waste the $50... Checked in online before leaving the house. The guesstimated wait time was very close to when we received a text to head inside. Once we checked in, we were seated within a few minutes. It was a busy Friday night, but the rolls were burnt to a crisp and cold. The waitress brought a second basket out that was also cold, but not burnt, at least... We ordered the tater skins as an appetizer and they were out of them. We then ordered cheese fries. They came with ranch and were served hot. That was the best part of the meal. I had an 8 ounce sirloin (medium), with side salad and green beans. The steak was medium rare, and cold when it arrived to the table. It had been sitting for a bit for sure. I kept it, because I felt so bad for the waitress. She was doing her best and it wasn't her fault at all. The side salad bowl was only half full. The green beans were very strong with a smoky flavor, but I liked them. My husband had a 12 ounce ribeye (medium) with side salad and baked potato. It was overcooked to medium well, and also cold and had been sitting for a bit before it was brought out. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for it, he decided to keep it as well. His salad was also tiny, but his baked potato was good. Overall, not impressed at all and so our first visit will also be our last. The Paducah location has always been great for really good service and food, so we would most likely make the 45 minute drive to that location if we had another gift card to spend. read more

I don't understand the low overall star rating. We've eaten here 4 or 5 times and it's always been excellent (and crowded). Steaks done to the right temperature every time and seasoned well. I love the Texas chili got a bowl last time. I'm also a fan of the seasoned rice and have been getting it now as my second side. Our service has always been fast and friendly. We stopped in Marion for the night and our hotel had a gift card for the Texas Roadhouse. We don't like chain restaurants, but we decided to give it a try. We made a good decision. The place was crowded and noisy but after experiencing the food and service, I can live with that. My sirloin steak was done to perfection and the two sides of a sweet potato and small Ceasar salad were great. My wife had a large Ceasar and of course it was also great. Went for dinner on Friday night and was put on a hour wait list ok hey it's Friday and they get busy finally go to bed seated and the brought the rolls that looked horrible about 15 mins later the brought us plates to eat rolls with and said someone would be back to take drink orders about 20 mins later server came and said there was a issue I. Kitchen and will be back in a few to take order and we yet to order drinks about 20 more mins go buy and then server comes and says there not serving anyone else tonight due to a issue in kitchen and we had to leave. Went here for a family dinner. First of all, if the music is so loud that I have to shout my order to my server and she *still* can't hear me, it's too loud. But I get that's part of the "everything is bigger, even the music!" ambiance so I'm not going to get too worked up over it. What I *am* upset about is that my mom and I both ordered the steak kebabs medium rare, and what we were both served can only be described as the fat and gristle parts trimmed off of better filets. Also, they were slathered in steak sauce, which was...not good. Both of our kebabs were utterly inedible. Further, my nephew and his girlfriend's baked sweet potatoes were hard as a rock. I understand the food service industry is hurting right now. The manager did comp a portion of the meal but from the sounds of the other reviews they have to do this a lot. My husband and I went for our anniversary and his filet steak was cooked perfectly the first time, however when he asked for Worcestershire sauce the server that brought our food gave him soy sauce. The reservation was listed in their computer as 6 adults and we were seated at a table for 6 adults. Although there were 7 of us. So they moved us to another table. This table was the same size. So they moved us to a table with an extension. Problem solved right. WRONG. One of the staff comes over as we are eating our rolls and tells us that this table isn't ours we need to get up and will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list. A person in my party asked for the corporate phone number and a staff member gave it to her. She immediately called it to find out that the number provided was incorrect. One thing you have to know about TR, is that they are ALWAYS busy! So keep that in mind when you go. You will likely wait for a table so be prepared that this will not be a super quick stop. But it is always worth it! My husband and I sat at the bar, so we were able to get in more quickly than those waiting for a table. The young lady working the bar was wonderful! She was pleasant, smiling, interacting with all her customers. The food was great as always. We started with the Cactus Blossom (yum!) and we each had a Smokehouse Burger with steak fries. The burgers were done to perfection. I prefer my fries a little more done than most, but that's my preference so certainly nothing to complain about. We will definitely be back! read more

Waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to get a table, then another 45 minutes to get our food. We had to flag down a busboy to get silverware. The napkins the silverware was wrapped up in were wet. I ordered my chopped steak medium well, and it came out medium at best. When they brought it back it was burnt to a crisp. Mushrooms were unrecognizable. Service was great. We were greeted promptly and by several different staff. Ambiance is typical and good. Hubby ordered beef tips, mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. I got house salad, NY strip, and baked potato. Our consensus was that one should never order beef tips. They are always from the worst cut of meat and tough as an old boot. My steak was juicy and tender. The salads were good. BUT, and it is a BIG BUTT, the cook went crazy with salt! The steak was too salty, the beef tips and gravy were too salty and the potatoes and gravy were TOO SALTY. And since between us, we have 14 decades plus of experience eating, this review might be put into perspective by stating neither of us have ever in our lives complained about salt in a restaurant meal. So, bottom line, if we go back, we won't be ordering anything made en mass like mashed potatoes and we will be asking for low salt on steaks and baked potatoes. read more
