They were so gracious getting us a table even though we didn't have a reservation. It was a last minute decision. I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. The bread was a big hit with both of us. My wife has one of the pasta dishes, and I almost wanted to trade. Fairly quiet, so we had a good chance to visit. Server was excellent. read more

I went to try this place with my significant other and it was very nice. Some notable mentions from the evening: *Our server was very kind and friendly. *The fried onion we got as an appetizer was better than any other steakhouse I've ever been to. Often a place will half-cook it and the thing will have a soggy texture, but here, it was enjoyable all the way through with crunchy onion goodness. *The Caesar salads we got were pretty usual, except that the croutons were amazing, though fewer in number than we'd have liked. *The garlic mashed potatoes were very good and my partner believes that she had never had better mashed potatoes before. *Our steaks were very good, however, I had ordered medium-rare and got blue-rare. Had a very nice meal here with friends recently. The drinks were great as was the salad. My prime rib was cooked perfectly. The only downside to the meal was when the waitress came to refill our water glasses, she reeked with the smell of cigarette smoke. That was not pleasant for our entire group and was commented on. My husband and I were traveling through downstate Illinois last Saturday night and spent the night in Marion, Illinois. We decided to eat dinner at the 20's Hideout Steakhouse. Our meal was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the manager was extremely accommodating. My husband is a Vietnam veteran and has Parkinson's Disease. He has obvious mobility issues. The manager, realizing this, gave us priority seating and checked in on us several times to make certain that we were satisfied with everything. Not only is the food great and the service wonderful, but, the manager is someone who truly cares about his customers. It was a really positive experience and, when traveling through Marion again, we will be certain to have a meal at the 20's Hideout Restaurant! read more

Went last night on a recommendation from a family member. I ordered prime rib the others got steaks. One was overcooked, two undercooked and one even raw not rare. After a few drinks, appetizers, salads the poor server was sent out to inform me that there was only the end piece left of prime rib. We had a gift card for this restaurant so we came for a date night. We came in on a Wednesday and were seated after a few minutes. They had a pianist which we thoroughly enjoyed and it added to the ambiance immensely. The inside was clean and cozy. The waitress helped us pick out a wine to enjoy with dinner which we really appreciated. The food left much to be desired though. The Caesar salad was very good. My husband ordered the chopped steak which lacked any kind of flavor and was very undercooked for medium. I ordered a sirloin strip and it was cooked perfectly for medium rare but lacked flavor as well. The mashed potatoes were good but nothing extraordinary. Overall I do not feel like we got what we paid for. Since it was pricier than other restaurants, I expect better quality. We probably would not come back. We've heard wonderful things about this place so hopefully it was just an off night. read more

Almost 5 years ago I had an awful experience at this restaurant and said I wouldn't return. I moved away from the area but visit often. Until tonight, I've never been back to the Hideout. My father wanted to eat here as he hadn't been in years and convinced me that enough time had passed that there was no way it could be as terrible of an experience as last time. I booked a 6:45pm reservation. We arrived just before 6:30 expecting to wait but were seated immediately. No one ever came to our table. No one ever even came near our table. If a server had even stopped by to say hello and tell us they were busy, we wouldn't have left but no one ever came. After roughly 17 minutes, we left. I let the hostess know as we were leaving, she seemed stunned. I did get an email at 7:21pm letting me know I had been seated though! Haha! We drove down the street and had a fantastic meal at a different restaurant. I've wasted my time here twice. It's not a mistake I'll ever make again. read more
