Tiny place, HUGE menu of options for all appetites. They took our large order fast and worked quickly at the grill. So many options to choose from-- it was hard to decide. The loaded fry options are crazy good! I would come back just for those. Heads up-- they charge for extra sauces of any kind (most places do nowadays). And all menu items are à la carte. read more

Yuuum! The food here is excellent. The menu is huge and has tons of options. I know it's a burger place, but none of us got burgers. The Italian beef, the gyro, and the chicken tenders were fantastic. The crinkle cut fries were also delish. The kids nuggets were less than great. However the kids meals come with "treasure" aka temporary tattoos, a paper hat to color, and a gummy candy. The kids meals also come in cute pirate themed boxes. The drinks are in a refrigerator by the register- there aren't fountain drinks. They have cans of soda and glass bottles of Fitz's. The place is very tiny. 5 booths inside and 2 tables outside. The air conditioning is also not up to par. Food is great and would come here again! read more

First time coming here, me and my wife wanted to check this place out since we were visiting the strip mall with all the stores and we wanted to check this place out when it opened. This place had a variety of great food for me and her. They have plenty of vegan options for my wife and plenty of great other options for me. Their food does take a while to make especially if there's a line but with that being said I could say that the food is worth the wait and it absolutely fills you up. Staff here was very nice and friendly. The dining area is very clean and well kept as well. There's plenty of parking as well. read more

Sure we ordered a burger, fries as well as nuggets (next time tenders)...but we thought the fish sandwich was great! Limited availability I guess...but you can also get it as a platter. Thin fresh cut fries are also unusual for us. Seems like the math would be two small fries ($3) same as one medium ($6) Fitz's sodas in bottles in the case. read more

My partner and I ordered the Big Bacon Burger and a medium order of fries. The burger comes with two patties, chopped bacon, extra cheese, mustard, and pickles and we added jalapeños. It was exactly what you want from a classic mom-and-pop burger....juicy, tender and loaded with flavor. The kind of burger where you know it's going to get a little messy, in the best possible way. The medium fry is huge. The bag was packed full and could easily feed four people. They don't have a fountain drink machine, but they offer canned and bottled drinks. I had a Fitz root beer and my partner had a coke. With tip, our total came out to around $42. The food is made fresh to order, so there is a short wait, but it really wasn't bad at all and it's worth it for the quality. There are only about five booths for indoor seating, so like other reviewers mentioned, a lot of folks were grabbing their food to go. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Fresh, flavorful food and a great old school burger shack feel. I wish I had discovered it sooner. read more

A little hot inside. They should get their vent sytem and/or a/c fixed. That being said, the service and food were fantastic. One of the employees saw my daughter drinking water and so offered her a juice box on her. Small gesture, but huge in our eyes. Give that employee a raise! The gyro fries were solid, but could use a little juicier meat. The pizza puff was exactly what you want it to be. The mushroom melt was very good and even had local mushrooms on it. read more

How this place isn't straight up 5s across the board, I have no idea. Service- 5/5. Super friendly and great people. Ambience- 5/5. Not fancy. Couple booths, tables outside. It's all about the food. Food- 5/5. Albeit a burger shack and real Chicago dogs and Italian beef .. the sandwich I picked was the "gym shoe". It was ! Protein, protein and more protein. Came with roast beef, gyro meat and grilled corned beef. The hoagie roll was perfect. Super sloppy sandwich. They do not go light on the meat! Literally falling out. Cant wait to go back and try rest of menu! Top 5 sandwich of all time. (Yes, the mayo was a little heavy but whatever. U can ask for light mayo but it just works) read more

Best double bacon cheeseburger around! The flavor from the beef was unique. Perfectly cooked. Sticker shock when the bill rang up to be $33 for two burgers and an order of fries. But it was so good! One order of fries were plenty for us. Left half the fries there but ate the burgers. read more

The food was good. Me and my daughter enjoyed our burgers. My husband was not as pleased and wants to try something different. The staff was nice. We ordered online and picked it up read more

Checked out this pretty tiny burger restaurant in Carbondale. Dale's has plenty of options as far as burgers, and more. It has meaty, as well as plenty of plant based options. Also the prices are pretty good. There's only a couple tables inside, so most people get takeout. Basically the main thing is burgers. It's far from the only thing they have obviously. There's also chicken and other sandwiches. Not only for meat eaters. Other options include plant based versions. It's about $7 for the Impossible Burger. Pay a couple more bucks to get a double, and a few more bucks to get fries or sides. Even has vegan cheese and mayonnaise. They certainly pack a ton of options in this small ass space. For sure check it out if you want a burger. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's plenty of things for meat eaters and vegans. read more

Dale's came highly recommended for the best burger around from a friend. We decided to give it a try on a Saturday around lunch time. It wasn't busy when we first arrived, but they got busy quick! Between take out orders and people dining in, it was hopping! They have a small area with 4 booths inside, and they have two outdoor tables on the sidewalk out front. Drinks are all by the can or bottle. The menu was extensive, but we went with bacon cheeseburgers and cheese fries. It was absolutely delicious! The fries are fresh cut and the cheese sauce was a perfect addition. The bacon on the burger was thick cut and very flavorful. The burgers were cooked perfectly. Everything was made to order, so a short wait, but well worth it for fresh food. Check them out! read more

All I can say is OH MY DOG!!!! I went in and got a gyro sando and fries. I went into the fries to start. Holy crap, those are THE BEST fries. Now for that glorious sandwich. Hands down, THE BEST SANDWICH I EVER HAD IN MY 54 YEARS ON THIS PLANET!! I wanted to go back and tell them personally but I was too full. Guys...seriously amazing food. I just moved here and you've got a customer for whatever is left of my life. Crazy good food and reasonable prices too! read more

Was driving through the area and decided to give this local spot a try for lunch. So glad we did! Really enjoyed the burgers, fries, and hot dog--all fresh and made with good-quality ingredients. Definitely a great local find, and I'll be back if I'm in the area again. read more

I was really looking forward to trying Burger Shack since burgers are their specialty, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The bacon on my burger was burnt, which overpowered the flavor, and the burger itself wasn't as good as I expected from a place that focuses on burgers. I wanted to enjoy it, but it just didn't live up to the hype. read more

I like the food a lot, but every time I go in the staff makes me wish I didn't. The person at the counter today was Just hostile and unpleasant. She was actively sneering as I ordered and sighed multiple times in a very short conversation. She didn't seem as angry at the other people ordering after and this was the first time I've ever encountered her so I can't imagine it was something personal. It makes me think it was prejudice and that sucks. It's also really muggy in the building and the door is broken or something and shakes the whole glass front wall every time it slams shut. read more

I would have to say 30 dollars for 2 burgers is insanely expensive and the patty melt was disgusting. The bread was old and the burger was crazy dry. My first and last time eating here. This place is truly a rip off and you deserve better, culvers burgers are better than these. (No shade to culvers) Save your money and find somewhere else to eat. I wish I never came here, go to steak n shake for a really good patty melt. There truly isn't any good burgers spots around here that I have found yet and im about to give up looking. read more

This is a great spot to get food. They use better ingredients and get lots of food. My one issue is it will say open online and then you go there and it's not. More consistency on that would really help! Still great food but be patient!! read more

Excellent food and service. Burgers were delicious and fries were perfect. It's a go to when we are hungry for a good burger

The food is very flavorful, and worth the money. The loaded fries feel like they weigh 10lbs. First time I got the spicy chicken bacon ranch fries, and they were dynamite (as in yummy, not too spicy). The patty melt is also very good. This time I got the Gyro fries, and they were super refreshing and tangy. The meat is noticeably high quality (i believe they source their meat from wenneman farms). Big portions as well. Not much seating, would only recommend getting takeout. The staff are all college students it appears, but they are all super friendly and keep the place very clean! read more

I placed an order for take out over the phone at 11:24. They said it would take 15 minutes. I arrived at 11:44 and the food was not ready. They didn't even start making it. I was told it would be a five minute wait and I am still here at 11:53. They have good food don't get me wrong but I won't be wasting my time waiting for it when I did my part correctly. I didn't receive any type of compensation for having to wait additional time for my food. I saw several other orders go out before mine and I am simply not happy. This was not a great experience at all. Please do better! read more

Ordered a sandwich and was charged $3 over the menu price without explanation, and the was given it plain, without the ordered toppings.

Love love love the burgers here. They are cooked very well handmade Pattie's and very juicy. The sweet potato fries are cut to order and are very good. I will always recommend this place for an awesome burger and I will be back. read more

Love the food. Locally sourced meat makes it all extra tasty. Generous portions of meat. Roast beef is pink inside and extremely tender.

I always love to try and give mom and pop places a try before going to the chain restaurants. This is the second time I have ate here and both times were not the best for myself and coworkers. The staff is friendly and the facility itself is not bad. It only has two booths in it and an eating ledge like what you would find in a Chicago hotdog place. What I did not care for was the food. It is not bad but for myself and coworkers we will definitely not be back. The hamburger buns are cooked on the grill and both times mine were really hard and almost burnt. The patty itself was dry and small. The fries are supposed to be hand cut and for the most part they did seem like it. However, mine were cooked so long I felt like I was eating potato chips. I also know that prices are rising in the country but for the quality and quantity of what you get the meals are way overpriced. Overall if you looking to try a new burger/sandwich place out in Carbondale go ahead and try this place. You could like it or have better luck than I. For myself and my coworkers we will keep driving past and eat somewhere else. read more

First off I'd like to say the service was amazing. 2 guys were holding down the swarm of customers in line they were cooking handing out food and answering the phone. I watched them hand out at least 15 meals in a short manner of time. My expectations were 100000% met when I got this burger it was juicy but crunchy and every ingredient was fresh. Especially being from Chicago it's hard to find good quality food around here. This is my new favorite restaurant in Carbondale. read more

My friends said their burgers were great. I had a hot dog (which was tasty) and waffle fries. It's a small place (only two booths) and kind warm inside with the grill going so we sat out front. They were out of several items but on the plus side, they were open. Service was fine. It's "order at the counter" so no real wait staff. read more

We are here visiting our college student and happened upon this gem! They offer fresh made burgers, Chicago dogs, Chicago beef sandwiches, and chicken sandwiches. We ordered 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich and they were excellent! The only downside is that there is only 2 tables so if there's a lot of people ordering, the chances of getting a table is low. Other than that I would 100% recommend. We will be back! read more

Fresh and delicious food. Especially like their grilled chicken sandwich with all the fixins and their onion strips. Super laid back vibe and friendly staff. Not much seating inside, just a couple booths and some covered outside seating for when the weather's nice. One of many little gems in Murdale. read more

We had DELICIOUS bacon cheeseburgers and fries! Would highly recommend but call before driving over- hours seem ti fluctuate.

Good food! I loved the Rueben loaded fries made with their hand-cut fresh fries! My son had a delicious double patty burger

Wow!! The only place to get a REAL Beef, with out having 2 go Chicago or Anna... haven't tried their burgers or meatballs yet....

This place has great food and it's pretty quick usually. Service is always friendly and fast. Hours are a little erratic sometimes and there's not much space for dining in, but these are some smashingly good sandwiches! Loaded fries are awesome, too. read more

Good burger. Hand made to order. French fries are potato toothpicks, not my style. Need bigger fries. Friendly staff.

It is a gem. I had a double cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Also the Italian beef sandwich was off the charts

Love the Philly cheesesteak! Fresh and made to order. Lots of meat on the sandwich. Highly recommend!
