I really enjoyed Backslope Brewing. I love a brewery that also includes great food. Backslope's food is top tier for brewery + food spots. There's a wide selection of beer and some noted on the menu as award winning which may help steer your decisions. We went to Backslope after a full day of hiking and it definitely got the job done. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and I'd return if I ever find myself in GNP again.

Beer Flight

This is my second time at Backslope. The first time I stopped in was years ago during my first visit to Glacier. I was really excited to go back as I had such a great experience the first time. We shared a flight and I would recommend each of the beers but really enjoyed the sours. I had the fish and chips for my lunch and really enjoyed them. The slaw had a little too much carrot for me but I still enjoyed it. We stopped for a late lunch and had no wait. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in at Backslope and I will definitely return during our next Glacier trip!

We often stop here after class in the park. Fresh menu and many beer choices. My husband likes a bock beer and it isn't always in stock. Friendly efficient staff. Plenty of parking. You may wait if it is busy but if the weather is good they have an outdoor patio area.

Is a brewery bit not your everyday bar food. The food is Lebanese American, yumm The beer is also very very good

We haven't been in for about a year. They used to have a chicken sandwich I raved about to visitors but it's not on the menu anymore. This time the food was just so-so. I had a $16.00 chicken lemon salad. It was decent. My Mom had soup and they don't serve any crackers or bread with it. She asked for something and they brought some pita slices for $2.00. I guess everything is higher priced but that chicken sandwich I thought was the best thing on the menu. My Mom said the soup was "just alright" The service was good.

[ Food/Drink ] We tried the Bistro Burger, Pork Belly Sandwich, Mac & Cheese, and Fried Pickles; everything was pretty good, except that the Pork Belly Sandwich was kind of salty. I ordered the Ginger Lemonade and that was good as well, I liked that it was homemade. [ Service ] Customer service was good, the waitress was nice. The food came out fairly quickly. Just know there's a possibility of them not being able to accept new customers an hour before they close if they're super busy, which is what happened when we went. They posted a sign saying they were not taking any more customers for the parties that arrived after us. [ Parking ] They have a pretty small parking lot, but we were able to find some parking near their Annex.

I think Backslope has the best burger I have had in a long time! I was on the brink of being hangry after hiking and exploring GNP and stopped in for a late lunch. The beers are great and the burger was awesome - juicy, full of flavor, an all around classic burger. The lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments are on the side so you can customize the burger yourself. The house style potatoes are salty but delicious. I am still thinking about this burger almost two months later, this is a must to stop by if you are in the area.

Stopped by on my way back from the park. I did a flight because why choose, but my favorite for sure was the Honey Berry Sour. I also had one of their Pita and Labneh special which was sooo good!! If I am ever back in the area will definitely go again.

Pretty decent food and beer here. We started with a flight of the Leiwand Amber, porter, Foreman stout, and nitro stout. I liked the porter the best, while my wife liked the Foreman stout. We each followed up with a pint of those two. Intrigued by the bowls, I went with the bulgogi beef bowl. I was really impressed with the first few bites. I soon realized, however, the bowl hadn't been mixed up, and I had a lot more cabbage slaw and rice than bulgogi beef. I mixed it up, and it was fine, but not as good as the first few bites. Way too much cabbage and rice. My wife had the veggie burger with fries, and she thought both were delicious. Service was a little slow at the start, but it mostly picked up. I had to ask for more water, and once I got that, the waitress didn't offer to refill my wife's water at the same time, which was a bit strange.

Ginger Pork Sandwich with House Salad

The menu is varied with an enticing surprise for everyone. I had the Ginger Pork Sandwith a side house salad. The house salad is the best I have ever had! It was more than a spring mix. There was shredded cabbage, carrots, and pepitas with a peppercorn ranch dressing that was light and tasty. The Ginger Pork Sandwich was am amazing mix of flavors. The ginger is absolutely delicious. It comes with a sirachi Mayo that I didn't think I'd like. I requested it on the side and quickly became a convert, Absolutely delicious! My husband had the Winter Glory Salad and it was definitely glorious. Once again, the mixture of tastes was a surprise to the taste buds. The salad had mixed greens, spinach, kale, red and green cabbage, carrots, and the addition of beets and Brussels sprouts were excellent. It also came mixed with flavorful quinoa and toasted almonds. The creamy tahini dressing finished it off perfectly. This is absolutely a place worth visiting over and over again. We don't drink but I assume the same attention to detail and flavors is taking place on the brewery side.

Stopped here first after a long travel day and did not disappoint. Food was great, perfect for fueling up for a hike. We also enjoyed the beer and overall vibe. Would recommend!

This is a must when you're visiting Glacier National Park. It's not far from the park, so the perfect place to hit up after a tough hike! The burgers, the fries, the brews. All top notch. They don't take reservations. Usually busy (bc it's so good) but never took long to sit or get our food. Fun atmosphere inside, seating outside as well. The fries are really like a hybrid of fries, wedges and chips. Amazing and unique. Definitely recommend the truffle ones. Homemade ranch is awesome - get it on the side! The burger is so flavorful and toppings are fresh. I recommend caramelized onions on the burger instead of raw. So good.

Is there outdoor dining? Yelp shows no, but in the pictures I see patio umbrellas

So when I was there it was a bit chilly and didn't see anyone on the patio, however, they do have a small patio area. I would call and ask, it might depend on the season. It was super yummy though!

Do they have any gluten free dishes that are safe for people with celiac disease?

Many of our dishes are made with ingredients that do not have gluten, for instance most of our rice bowls and the sauces that go into them do not contain gluten. However, we do have gluten in the kitchen so we can never guarantee that an item coming… Read more

The outdoor setting was awesome and the stage allowed everyone to see the entertainment. On street parking was easy. Great stop.

Strawberry and Walnut salad - refreshing and tasty. Burnt ends - meh I've had much better. If you're really jonesin for some I guess they're OK. Curry chicken salad pita - it was okay but lacked depth. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Sweet potato fries were definitely worth the upgrade however! Regular fries had an odd aftertaste. Just get the sweet potato upgrade. Caesar and burger I heard were good. The best thing this place has going for it imo is their homemade ranch dressing! Wow very good. Fresh and tasty, everything ranch should be. Tbh very disappointed with this place. It was overly packed with people, had poor signage that YOU HAVE TO ORDER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT - THEY WILL NOT COME TO YOUR SEAT! Our "waiter" gave us water and cleaned the table but never told us this so we waited 20 min and would have waited another hour if we didn't figure it out. AND you have to order drinks at a separate place outside. My biggest gripe food wise is that the Mac and Cheese looked REALLY good but they don't offer it other than as an entrée. Poor move imo as a restaurant move! Servers were very rude as well. It is cool they have outside live music I must say and the ambiance is cool. Conversely, I do have to say my wife thought this was her favorite food so far in MT for what that's worth. In the future, I'd rather head across the street to North Fork Pizza than risk going back here. The pizza smelled diviiiiine from outside!

I ate half my omelet out of hating to waste food, but I feel like they wasted it, not me. The eggs were paper-thin and dry, with the sliced American cheese and cubed ham adding a ton of salt. I prefer well seasoned food, but this was too much. Three stars also might seem like too much, but the bacon was exquisite in quality and preparation, my husband's sunny-side-up eggs were perfect, the coffee was good and hot (even if the service was a bit chilly) and the people watching was excellent. NB: I don't "people watch" with contempt; I care about people. I particularly like to see regular visitors enjoying themselves. That morning we had two older gentlemen meeting for breakfast and Bible study; a quiet interaction between people engaged in sobriety support; a young family trying to wrangle little ones and mostly succeeding; and what appeared to be a trucker taking a late breakfast before hitting the road. All of these could have been regulars from my childhood and I enjoyed the ambiance very much. My family used to go to the Nite Owl in the late 70s / early 80s for rare restaurant dinners. Their Chef's Salad was my favorite treat at the time, and I really savored it. Before moving away from the Valley a few years later, I started ordering breakfasts and they were also grand: fluffy omelets rich with cheese, crispy hash browns...a real treat. Revisiting last week it was not the same. Too bad.

Our server was very attentive and very nice. It was the food that was the problem. Both the soup…read moreand the sandwich were heavily salted. I know that some people like salty food. I, however, do not. What is a diner to do when, with other diners, their meal is served and it is way over salty? Send it back and hope that the pot of soup and sandwich ingredients are not already heavily salted? That could work if you have the time to wait for a new meal. Perhaps it would not be a good choice if you did not want to appear overly fussy/picky to the other diners. A diner can always add more salt to their food, but they cannot take it out of their meal. This food was too salty for me. Thus my rating of "Could've been better." PS: I thought it was kind of funny that a basket of saltine crackers was also served.

We were seated within five minutes in a room with a view of the street. It was raining outside, and it felt nice and cozy inside the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and checked in on how we were doing regularly. We ordered the Tot-chos (half order to share among six people) and I also got a huckleberry soda for myself as well as the bison (classic) burger with sweet potato fries. For dessert, we shared two scoops of huckleberry ice cream (from Sweet Peaks), the bread pudding and the beignets. I loved the Tot-chos, and the half order was honestly a pretty big size already! The huckleberry soda was pretty sweet (I think it had 41 grams of sugar), but I don't regret trying it. The bison burger wasn't bad, it definitely tasted similar to beef, but it was a huge burger so I couldn't finish it. The sweet potatoes were also delicious. In terms of the dessert, I had gone to Sweet Peaks already and liked their huckleberry flavor a lot, so I was excited to see them on the menu. People at my table loved the bread pudding. I thought the beignets were not bad, but they weren't as good as the other desserts.
