We used to love going to Backroads. Now, they have removed a menu item and it's tricky to find something that fits my dietary restrictions. For a time, they allowed us to order even though it wasn't on the printed menu. Tonight we tried that and were told they don't allow that anymore. Too bad - I guess we'll find another place that has a similar item. Eating out is difficult when you can't eat all foods! read more

Wow, this was a bit unexpected! This place was amazing! Searched Yelp for some local ideas and the wife and I both landed on this spot! I have no idea how we have lived near here for so long and never heard of this restaurant? Food: Well, this is truly a surprise! Everything we had was fantastic! Flat out 10/10! - Corned Beef Egg Rolls were Great! The horseradish sauce paired perfectly. I could just order these alone and be rather happy! -Burger, now ordering your burger is slightly confusing but what i ended up with was one of the best I have ever had! Kumas Corner is the only place that might edge them out, SO many options and amazingly unique combos. I don't remember the name off hand, but it was the spicy habanero Jelly selection with a plain burger and we used 2 Grilled Cheese sandwiches as the bun! Holy cow this was great! The meat was perfectly cooked and the flavor was second to none. -Lastly the bbq pork fries were ultra tasty too. We used the spicy BBQ sauce as an option! The staff was super friendly and on top of everything we needed. My only criticism is that they are doing themselves a disservice in my opinion by having all the neon beer signs and banners. This is a relatively upscale casual restaurant posing as a dive bar. I would just let the food speak for itself and take down all the beer stuff. Just my opinion! Awesome place tho and i will certainly be back over and over again!! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and we were happy to hear that burgers were $5 off on Wednesday. This was the best burger we can remember having. I had the bough burger and my husband had just a cheeseburger. Both were cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the crispy fries were outstanding. The service was a bit slow. It's a comfortable space with booths , tables, a nice outdoor patio and large bar area. North Cubs and Sox games on. We will definitely be back. read more

Food here is so good! Everyone in my group raved about what they ordered. They also have a big patio and lots of specials and events throughout the week. They also have lunch specials. I highly recommend! read more

I visited back roads burger and bar on April 19th 2025, along with two of my grandchildren and my niece. We had great food and great service! I placed a to go order for my husband and told the server she could bring my check whenever it was ready. The server came back to the table and said that an anonymous party picked up our tab. I immediately was filled with an overwhelming joy and gratitude to the very kind individual or individuals who did this! I just want to say whoever you are, we will never forget your kindness! I became very emotional and was just overwhelmed. Whoever you are thank you so much, I will pay it forward read more

We will be back! Excellent food, pet friendly and nice staff. We had the Philly rolls which were really delicious as a starter. Then I had the filet mignon sliders with fries and my husband had the Saganaki burger. Both meals were delicious! My cousin made her own burger and her husband had the bourbon burger. We were all very full afterwards and the prices were reasonable. Our server Dave was really great as well. read more

Happy Saint Patrick's Day - no corned beef. My spouse enjoyed the lenten special so that is why I am giving 2 as a rating. He said it was good, but too much sauce. He had a hard time tasting the fish. I didn't want to pay $15.00 for a hamburger so I settled on the cheese curds which were very chewy. I quit eating them when I bit into one of them and oil came out of it. Really yummy and hot! I ordered a can of Busch Light but for some reason she brought me a bottle which was $5.00 too much. It might be a fun place as the others have said but the food and beer is definitely not worth the price. We won't be back. read more

Heather, Hailey and Elliott exceeded our service expectations. The burgers, wings and salads are very good. Daily drink specials are also very reasonable. Outdoor patio is nice with fans and big screen TV for sports. Go Cubs! read more

Very Disappointed. #1 We made a reservation, specifically to sit by the Singo event they have every Wednesday. We were all getting off work and were running late. We had called to let them know we were still coming, the girl on the phone said that was fine, they would hold it for 15 minutes. We got there 10 minutes late and they gave our table to someone else, that did not have a reservation, right in front of us. Hostess was yelling at another server while we were trying to get seated. #2 My husband got his beer and there was lipstick all over the glass. #3 I ordered the Taco Salad. The meat was cold, the cheese had melted but was cold and the lettuce was wilted. Not good. #4 my Husband ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that had pesto sauce on it that w as so cold, if seemed like it just came out of the freezer. The ONLY the redeeming was the Singo guy was pleasant. We will find another place from now on- we used to come every Wednesday. Oh well. read more

As always, the food was fantastic and the service was even better! Our server, Janae J, was awesome! Ate there last night with my daughter, found a long hair in my steak. Not just a long hair, that is bad enough. But it was wrapped around the steak like a piece of bacon. Manager took the meal off my bill. Asked if I wanted something else, I asked for chili. I could not bring myself to eat the chili, kept thinking I was eating hair. My daughter ordered fish and chips and after I found the hair she was not able to eat the rest of her meal. We took both home and tossed them. Manager also gave me a card for a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree. No thanks Meal should have been free read more

I have been to Backroads many times now and it's always GREAT food & service. Exceptional service today from SHARON in the BAR. Very attentive in all aspects of the service performed! One of the very nicest! We live close by & very happy we can go each month without driving miles. Its refreshing as there is not much to offer in the area that you can go to and be happy with everything! Thank you for the EXCELLENT SERVICE, YOU HAVE A "GEM" IN SHARON! Burgers are good. We loved the tots and the French fries. Fun decor& friendly waitstaff.

Always a great experience. Amazing burgers, and apps. I'm pretty picky with my buffalo chicken wraps and theirs is AMAZING!

One of our favorite spots to go for lunch and a drink. Our 18 month old enjoys it too.

Great lunch. Came for a birthday lunch with the wife. Ordered the Yellowstone burger, which was on a recommendation from the waitress Taylor who is phenomenal! I was actually waffling between Yellowstone burger & the That's my jam. Settled on the Yellowstone. Had that with the sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfect, fries were awesome.I was very happy along with a couple of tap beers which would be from lost Coast brewing Company, the tangerine wheat, which is a favorite of mine, but especially when they're on tap! Wife had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, along with fries which she really enjoyed. It was hotter than she thought it would be, but she really likes some heat in there, so she was good with it! Along with a couple of List coast, tangerine wheat beers on tap and she was happy! Taylor was great checking on us, just enough, but not too much, along with occasional storytelling. I found her very entertaining, good waitress! I also liked the misters. The wife said she that she wanted to sit outside on the patio, I was concerned about that. But they had these big umbrellas along with these misters. They kept the heat out, and the misters were up high and , some mist swirled around to cool you off while sitting outside in the heat. Thr wife was OK but she generally runs hot a little too easily. She was fine though and we enjoyed the whole Experience! Five stars, they have phenomenal burgers, great service we will definitely be back I'll bring my two 20 something kids, which they will enjoy it and you will too! I will say this they have an excellent menu, and I noticed some of the other waitresses besides Taylor. They were really have been trained well, and gave great service to other patrons.Backroads really has the right idea here , training their people to make sure that they take care of their customers which was done in a timely, and efficient manner. Dined at Backroads Burgers today. Had the reuben rolls appetizer-which was excellent as usual. Also had a medium well cheeseburger, and my partner had a bourbon burger, the burgers were delicious. Our server Cooper was a bit unfriendly and abrasive initially hopefully because he is new. Like dining here and hope Cooper gets better with his ability to be a friendly server. Just a note that all of my experiences here have been great. Would like to give 5 stars but the service was not good today. read more

Great food and service. Nice decor and atmosphere in general. I had fish and chips. Very good, generous portions too. The fries(chips) are excellent. Just something that makes them better than most fries I've had. Fish was breaded and fried perfectly. My son had a burger and fries which he enjoyed. Good selection of beers and soft drinks. Server was friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience! We'll be back! read more
