I would give this place a zero. It was absolutely disgusting! The fish tasted like frozen microwave fish, the fries cold and stale. The only thing we ate was the fried green tomatoes. Over priced and nasty food. Would not recommend this place to anyone. GROSS. Gordon ramsey needs to visit that nasty place. He would be appalled. We've been to Backaracks before, but this time we went for breakfast. It was so good! Hubby had the chicken fried steak. The gravy was very flavorful. The hash browns weren't as crispy, but they were seasoned well. I had the mexi skillet which was hash browns topped with jalapeños, black beans, corn, green chile hollandaise sauce and eggs. It was so good! It was spicy and rich and full of flavor. I've been trying to find the perfect buttermilk pancake, so we also shared a pancake. It was pretty good! I was recommended by the Holiday Inn express to come here and get great food. Wonderful steaks. What I enjoyed most was the house salad and their garlic balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I asked for extra tomatoes and extra onions and did not get any of those, I was kind of bummed, but on the upside the salad was crisp and fresh. I was torn between getting a burger a Philly cheesesteak or a sirloin steak. The bartender recommended their burgers because they were fantastic. I ordered the burger, added extra bacon and crispy bacon and instead of getting pepper jack cheese on it I asked for cream cheese and I ordered the burger, medium rare. But I got was a very thin, extremely thin burger more on the well done side with my fixings. The bacon was not crispy and was kind of old and not cooked through. The seasoning was OK, but there wasn't much of a burger, it was thin and I was expecting some thing more. The tomatoes that were on it were stringy and tasteless. The service was pretty good, but I had to ask for extra water when mine was obviously empty for a while. A pretty good place overall it seemed that people knew people as in regulars and that was fun to watch the sport atmosphere was great for this evening. This place was pretty good. Recommended by my brother because Steel Grill is closed on Sunday and so how would I know since I don't live here. Anyway, I ordered the 16 oz prime rib since it was Father's Day, this place was giving 25% off on Dad's meal. Cool!! Also had the baked potato and salad. I'm on vacation and have definitely not skip any meals this week! So full, but just had to have the big prime rib. Couldn't finish it, got too full, too fast!! Our server was the best. Very helpful, very sociable, and very attentive. Looks like the next time I am in town, I'll have an alternative to Steel Grill. read more

Relatives were here in Nebraska visiting from Maine. They were excited to sample the famous Nebraska beef. We are new to the area, just moved here from the east 10 months ago, so I was basically a tourist as well. Got a recommendation from a local that this restaurant is good. We arrived at lunch time and it was busy. There was a sign which said seat yourself. I found that odd, but we found a table to our liking and sat down. The decor was fun, and there were massive televisions everywhere. The waitress found us somehow, and she seemed to be either ill or very sad. Hopefully she isn't having problems, but it made me feel bad and put a damper on my dining experience. We all ordered the ribeye steak. It was very delicious! It came with 2 sides, I chose baked potato and coleslaw. It was great! My husband went with mashed potato and onion rings. I stole an onion ring from his plate, delicious! We really enjoyed the food, it was cooked perfectly. However, my husband wasn't thrilled with his mashed potatoes. I would recommend the baked potato which was fantastic. The steaks were wonderful. I was surprised that a 35 dollar meal would be presented on a plastic plate. And the steak knife was terrible. It was so dull couldn't cut butter. The plastic plate was shimmying all over the table as I attempted to cut the steak with the cheapo knife. Also the sour cream for my potato came in a plastic squeeze thing like the ketchup at McDonald's. The salt and pepper shakers on the table looked as if they had never been cleaned. Gross... All in all it was a nice meal but for what we paid I really think they should put a little pride in their restaurant. Perhaps I will return for a burger. My family and I loved Racks. We used to go for Happy Hour and would always take our out of town family to there to eat. They recently JACKED their prices $4-$5 per plate. It made us very disappointed. I love their food, especially their burgers, but it/they are not worth their prices. I had a club sandwich at $12-$13 dollars a week prior to going back and then it was $17-$18. We can understand doing a $1-$2 hike with the economy, but not what they did. Unfortunately we won't be going there anymore because we cannot afford it anymore. read more

We went at night with our son and we ordered a half rack of ribs (delicious) the chicken nuggets for our son, (cooked perfect) and a burger (my fiance loved it) the bill was much lower than we have ever paid before and we thanked the chef. If you like bar food that sits in the window too long... do I have good news for you. Unless you're one of the regulars, you'll be ignored for up to an hour before anyone asks if you want something to drink. Good luck if you ordered food. It'll be a 3 hour ordeal, won't be good, and probably won't be charged correctly. Your server will be outside smoking with all the other servers, every 5 minutes. Super fun detail: The owner bragged about being at the Capitol on 1/6. What was it that happened that day? He can try to deny it, since he deleted his facebook posts... This is a review on the service only. So I was skeptical since I don't normally frequent sports bars, or any bars really, but the lady at my hotel said they had good ribs. I'm a sucker for good ribs, so I went in. There was a lady to the left of where I entered that looked like she was manning the take-out counter - she told me to sit anywhere. I asked if there was just a restaurant side where I could get served quick and she said no, just sit anywhere. I sat down at an empty hightop table and looked around for menus and didn't see any. I waited and waited and couldn't get any kind of acknowledgement for the staff that they saw me come it. Finally a waitress started coming my way. Yay, I thought.... Then she walled over to the table behind me and waited on the large group that came in after me.... I got up and left. We were looking for a good steaks tonight, and we definitely found them here at Backaracks! My dad and I split the 16 ounce ribeye, both our girls got the flat iron steak. Both tasted fantastic. Salads were good, baked potatoes excellent. Don't be deceived and think they only have bar food. The steaks are great and well worth the price. They have 10 beers on tap, we enjoyed tall fat tires. A great choice. We initially were going to go to another steak place, but the wait was so long we decided not to. No wait here, we got seats immediately, and the service was great too. Although this restaurant must have had at least a dozen groups on a Sunday evening, it was very quiet, and about 2/3 full, with several sections closed off. We were greeted promptly and told to sit anywhere; the server appeared as soon as we were settled, bearing menus. Service was excellent, with the server dropping by 4 times during the course of the meal to check on us. She delivered the bill as soon as we finished eating, telling us not to rush, and explaining that she would be our cashier. (Wish more places were as good about this.) Food was excellent, and a good value. My husband opted for a mushroom & swiss burger ($10) and selected the baked beans with brisket as his side. I got the half rack of ribs ($15), and chose the side salad and sweet potato fries as my side. The ribs were perfect--falling off the bones, but not dried out. The dry rub was seasoning enough, but there was a rich, spicy chipotle-ranch sauce that may have been meant for the fries but was great an the ribs. Only flaw: an 87-cent surcharge for using a credit card. Really??? (And, speaking as an MBA, why not work this into the prices and/or offer a discount for cash. Presentation matters.) Minus 1/2 star, but rounding up because I think the star total on Yelp (3.5) is misleadingly low. read more

We went to have dinner tonight on 12/1/23 and normally we have a great time coming to backeracks...but not tonight. We sat at our table around 6pm and put our order in at about 6:15pm. We didn't receive our food until about 7:45pm. We were told by our server 3 times that she would check on our food for us but we never heard back. After the 3rd time we were finally told that a big party had put their orders in at the same time we did. But yet tables all around us were still receiving their food. When we got our food it was barely even warm. My fries were cold and my turkey sandwich was hardly even close to warm. After all of this we never even heard from the manager. The only thing we found out was that my fiance and I each recieved a single free drink. Not even a discount or anything on the food that took well over an hour to get. I am very disappointed and don't know if I will be back anytime soon. read more

I have eaten at this location a couple times. Really think the food is good/solid. Like the thin rib eye and prefer the sweat potato fries. Staff is attentive and quick. Its a bar/restaurant atmosphere. There are larger tables for bigger groups or you can eat at the bar as well. Salad was fairly basic, but the food is a good value. I hope this is helpful. read more

We ate here on July 7, 2021. My husband had the pork burger, which he said was pretty good. I had the smothered chicken sandwich: grilled chicken, sauteed onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. It was tasteless and the bun was hard. It was served in a plastic plate/tray lined with paper. It was covered with melted swiss cheese, so it was too messy to pick up and eat by hand. I had to cut the sandwich and eat it with a fork, and the paper underneath the sandwich was shredding and getting into the sandwich. Yuk. Then when we got the bill, there was a $.71 "non-cash adjustment". Are you serious?? That information should at least be given before payment time. We've eaten at Backaracks quite a few times over the years. Quality and service seems to be slipping. Not sure I want to go back. read more
