Did a little Yelp hunting and found this gem. Holy moly the food. I consider myself more purple than red or blue from a political perspective, so don't let the "If you don't stand for the flag" poster on the outside walking in scare you off if you are leaning blue given it is Nebraska. I have leg tattoos and nose rings, so I'm not always welcome at face value in the Midwest; but I'm a talker and have a ranch-wife past, so it's an interesting "win over" for me when there's a single seat at a packed bar. Anyway, this place is A-1. Three crafts on draft amongst the standard domestics. I had the Third Stone Brown tall. A nice rancher bought me my first round even...what? I'm 45 with wrinkles and married and can't remember the last time a guy bought me a beer. Happy hour every day from 2-6pm. Back to the food - wowsa - incredible and grateful for the Yelp find. I had the Deuce burger, recommended by some regulars I asked, and went for the homemade potato salad (Chandler...you are the GOAT) that is hands-down the best...sorry but not sorry grandma. Staff--especially Lexi rocking beautiful purple hair--were fabulous. The regular patrons softened to the obvious non-regular once we got to chatting because, at the end of the day, we're all just people living and doing our best to survive. Overall I can't wait to come back. They even have a Sunday breakfast at 8am that I'd sleep in my car for on a Saturday eve. There's an outside bar patio that will be open soon. The decor is, well, the best conversation starter ever. Find Mr. Ewing (he's the rancher guy with a Miller Lite knitted beer bottle coosie and cowboy hat that bought me a round), and he'll tell you the stories. I fell in love with this place. We arrived here all the way from Texas and was just looking to sit down and have a drink. We went to their patio and was greeted by some amazing folks from the town. One of the ladies worked there but was off but she kept going and getting our drinks for us so we tipped her and the bartender. This place is awesome. They have a map on the wall and you can place a pin of where you are from. For sure recommend this place. They have food but we only have mozzarella sticks. Was told the food is good. read more

Have visited this location a few times in the past for some drinks and once for food. Decided to order some food again with some friends. Got the BBQ wings and they were good. Interested in trying out some of the other menu options myself. Called in our order and I'm guessing it was busy as the lady on the phone wasn't the most patient/nice. However when picking up the order she was very kind and helpful. I know they have a dollar burger night that I'd like to attend some night. Parking here is limited and the location is kind of cramped inside but has a nice cozy vibe. read more

A local gem in a vast expanse. A hipster spot that's clueless it's a hipster spot. Five stars because of the vibe, unexpected place, quality of food. We stopped here (family of 5, 4 adults and a teen) on a Wednesday evening after a three day long road trip and some questionable restaurants along the way. The Union Bar and Grill bar area was lively with locals and hustling staff. Always a good sign, imo, especially on a Wednesday, and we're talking rural Nebraska here. Turns out, rural Nebraska knows quality bar dining. Should we be surprised as this is a state that feeds a nation? We seated ourselves in a quiet area and pored over the menu. There is also an extensive bourbon menu, if that's your thing. I stuck to a frosty cold IPA. Our party had the pulled pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese burger, shrimp basket, the nachos, and house salads. All meals were quality - fresh ingredients, perfectly done, lots of care. Did I mention that the sweet potato fries and the dipping sauce are the best I ever had? Seriously. Our waiter was attentive and efficient throughout and that's all I want, ever. The prices were very, very good, too. $80 for a family of 5 (4 adults and a teen) with 4 beers, before tip. Some of the regulars do a lot of trash talk and act like they run the place. 3 out of the 5 bartenders that work there are also snobs and act like they don't want to serve you. An added problem was that we were trying to eat low carb while traveling and it was a Saturday night. So what a surprise to find this place totally fitting the bill. We started with a Cheese Wheel appetizer which was a low carb dream! Then we had Steak Tips Salad with Blue Cheese dressing. Rum and diet Coke topped it off well. We stopped in on a Monday night. There was maybe 6 people in there. The server was standing talking to her friends turned and saw us after we sat down. She did come over after 5 minutes. I ordered the daily special fajitas with rice and beans. They came out luke warm . The meat tasted old and no flavor like other fajitas...the rice was cold, the beans tasted like canned refried. I let the server know I didn't like the fajitas . She only said she was sorry. But never tried to fix it. Poor service . read more

Absolutely the worst bar experience I've ever had. To begin with we were confronted right as we walked in and the two bartender were immediately hostile and toxic. Then asked for my Id and held it for a good 10 minutes. They then started telling me my Id was invalid even though it expires in two years. After a couple minutes of arguing with the two female bartenders, they finally gave me my beer and told use that they were no longer going to serve use after our first drinks. We left before even taking a sip because of our disgust. To be honest 1 star is entirely to high for this nasty place. I highly advise finding any other bar other than this place read more

Food is great, staff interacts well with customers, and drink prices are low and made correctly. Atmosphere is sports/dive bar. Much of the furniture and remodel are old but it fits with the atmosphere. read more
