I heard that this place was always busy and that a lot of peeps liked the breakfast. So we decided to stop in for breakfast before our Scottsbluff shopping trip. The waitress was really sweet, but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the food. I ordered a sausage & cheese omelet, hubby had the biscuits & gravy, and my brother in law had the garlic sausage and eggs and we shared a pancake. I was a little disappointed in the packets of dry non dairy creamer on the table. Not how I prefer to have my coffee, but I still used them. The sausage in my omelet was really good, but that was about it. The hash browns were a little greasy and had no flavor to them at all. I wasn't a fan of hubby's dish either, the biscuits were a little plain jane as was the gravy. The garlic sausage was ok. It had flavor, but I've had better. I was super excited when our sweet waitress put the pancake on the table. It was thick and looked so delicious. But again, no flavor at all. The syrup didn't help either. No maple taste to it whatsoever. I don't think I'll come back anytime soon. read more

We stopped in after visiting Scottsbluff National Monument, and we are very glad we did. Great food French Dip sandwich, homemade bread, and soup (broccoli cheese) as well as best bacon cheeseburger ever (according to our 12 year old). We ordered a bacon burger $12.95 A cheese bacon burger $13.70. 2 drinks $5.00. These drinks were kids size glasses. No refills for us and they cost that. The burger was a patty shaped like Wendy's. It didn't have a taste. The bacon was really good. The onion rings were really good. Like the ones sonic used to serve. It was right at $35 on my card plus a tip. There is a 3.75% fee if you do not pay with cash. I just expected a homemade patty from a home cooking restaurant. For the price it should be fresh. read more

After a long day of driving we stopped here for lunch based on the reviews. Bottom line: Food was delicious and plentiful, atmosphere great, prices reasonable....but they charge a 3.8% surcharge if you pay by credit card (and this is not mentioned anywhere except on your receipt). Large sesame bun, a hefty beef patty (not skimpy - I'm guessing a 1/3 pounder), two strips of excellent bacon, tomato, lettuce, pickle - it was wonderful. To go with that, I got the onion rings - boy did I get onion rings - not a skimpy 3 or 4 microscopic rings but a good 10 large and delicious rings - maybe ranking along with the best I've ever had. Wife was delighted with her burger (similar to mine) and her french fries (very plentiful). Son got a denver sandwich which he enjoyed quite a bit. So the food was perfect for this type of restaurant. Location is right off the main street - very easy to find - GPS takes you right to the spot. Inside are many booths (from 2 person booths to 4 person booths) and tables (mostly placed together for larger groups). All in all, comfortable. Price was reasonable for this quality level of food. I came here while visiting from out of state and ordered their chicken fried steak per recommendation from the locals. It was literally ground hamburger that was fried and undercooked to the point of being raw in the center. I kindly asked for a to-go box so I could leave on a kind note, but not risk another bite. Nice little diner/lounge thats a perfect stop for the Scotts Bluff Monument. My buddy and I did 3 miles at the Agate Fossil Beds and took the 1 hr drive, so we were hungry. We were looking at another 3 mile hike at the bluff, so this was the spot. Looking at the menu we wanted the larger burger called the Monument Burger. Thinking maybe it was a 1/2 lb or so. When it came out, I was taken aback. It was about a 2 lb burger with 4 slices of tomato, cheese, lettuce, at least half an onion and a huge bun that was wrinkling due to the stress of it's size. Trying to eat it with our hands, got us nowhere, we went the knife and fork route. It's a chop burger, so it also has onions mixed in. Dinner was overcooked to the point of being inedible. The pork chops and ground beef were so hard we couldn't cut them. The salad bar was full of 1950s marshmellow salads in assorted colors. This was said by the hostess in such a nasty tone. The waitress was friendly and said we could wait but we decided not to solely on the hostess. She was rude and doesn't know customer service. So a coffee latte place in adjoining Scottsbluff advising my request for handmade food breakfast and said this the place. Looks the part. Beautiful cinnamon roll coming soon and garlic sausage, over medium eggs, and burned hash browns. Cinnamon roll is real good but needs more brown sugar butter candy to make ii a best of. We're from out of town but staying here for a week. Stopped in for an early supper yesterday afternoon and was greeted by a nice lady, our waitress, who suggested we sit anywhere we like and then came over and gave us menus and took our drink order. We had country fried steak which was just okay, certainly nothing to come back for. Only one other table was occupied while we were there and they finished and had left before we received our bill. Three other people were sitting at the counter who I believe were employees, it certainly wasn't busy. When we finished I asked our waitress for our bill which she brought to us and we struck up a casual conversation with her. Within 60 seconds one of the women ( turned out to be the owner) at the counter yelled at our waitress, what are you doing? Our waitress responded that we were paying our bill and the owner yelled, take their money (our's) and come get this man, sitting at the counter, some soup, I know the man wasn't sitting there when I asked for our bill so the whole incident didn't take 2 minutes. My wife and I our both in our mid 70's, experienced travelers and eat out often and have just completed 10,000 miles of a 12,000+ mile road trip. In all our travels we have never experienced such a public, rude and condescending verbal assault on an employee as we witnessed yesterday. Our waitress, a nice older lady, was obviously embarrassed, as were we. We also overheard the man at the counter express to our waitress that he was sorry and that he hadn't complained. Before we got up to leave the owner had gone back to the kitchen, I was so upset by what had transpired that I asked our waitress to get the owner for me. She told us not to worry about it, everything would be find so we left, but I couldn't let it rest and went back and talked to the owner. Obviously I didn't get everything off my chest or I be addressing the issue today. Assuming that the owner reads this, the first thing you should do is apologize to your employee for your inappropriate actions yesterday and secondly, if you can't do that maybe consider another line of work. I don't know how you stay in business treating your employees and customers like this. I can only imagine how you must treat this lady when no one is around! You should be so ashamed of yourself, good employees are hard to come by and should be shown respect. We feel so sorry for your employee! She was a very nice lady! You, not so much! Joe P. read more

We stayed at a motel down the street and this place was recommended, as "good home cooking". Okay!! Seriously, I am not sure if the daily special is the better route, as I ordered something I thought was going to be good--the spaghetti and meatballs. When it came out, i could smell hot tomato sauce. Upon taking a bite, that is literally what it tasted like. Nothing more. The toast that came with it was buttered toast with some salt and parsley sprinkled on it. I had to add lots of salt and pepper to have it be any thing but bland. My husband had a burger, goodness. It was half onions, and I do not mean the toppings that came on it. When tearing open the burger to show me, you could see all the onions in the meat. It was not good. I am know when I make home cooked meals, I want left overs. In this case, we did not want to even eat more than a few bite of our food. read more

We were in town for breakfast and had a short wait to get a table at the Log Cabin - they are a popular place on Sunday mornings, at about 9:30. My husband had bacon and eggs and I had eggs and garlic sausage, which I was guessing was locally made, and the waitress confirmed that. It was very tasty sausage, lean and delicious, but not too garlicky. Portion sizes were just right. Would come back again! Lots of interesting western decorations on the walls, some faded in the sun but that just added character. The decor reminded me of my Grandma and Grandpa's house with the cowboy theme. read more
