This restaurant was a fantastic stop after a long day at the lake! Super kid friendly. The kid menu is simple but they went above and beyond with kid extras that weren't on the menu. Applesauce, watermelon, and a packet of fruit snacks too. The service was wonderful and the restaurant is very well maintained and clean. Bathrooms are also very clean. We had a great time at the Emporium. It looks like a dive bar from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. Inside is very warm and welcoming and so are the peeps that work here. We brought my brother in-law here for his birthday dinner. When we walked in there was a football game on tv, so there were peeps gathered around cheering in a small sports bar type area. The place is not huge, so the dining room is just off to the side, which was great so I was able to catch the game also. We started with the onion rings which were hand battered and very crispy. The onions were sweet and the ranch dressing was very creamy. We ordered a few different entrees so we were able to try different dishes. We ordered the rib-eye with a twice baked potato, the pork osso buco with garlic mashed potatoes and the chicken fried steak. My fave was the osso bucco. The red wine sauce was awesome and the pork just pulled away from the bone. The rib-eye was tender and juicy, but not enough seasoning for me. Which, they do put that it's lightly seasoned on the menu, so you really can't complain. I didn't try the chicken fried steak, but it seems that it was battered with the same batter as the onion rings. We also got a veggie with our meals which was green beans cooked with peppers and bacon. That was a great addition to the meal and the rolls that were served with the meal were soft and delicious. We ended the night with slices of buttermilk pecan pie and a slice of apple pie, both a la mode. That pecan pie was not like the traditional pecan pie I'm used to, in a good way. LOL! It had coconut and chocolate chips in it which made it kind of like an almond joy pie with pecans. We are definitely going to try to re-create that pie. The apple pie was scrumptious also and was probably my fave. This is a great place with great food and very friendly people. I can't wait to come back! Cheers! read more

What a great little find! We stopped on our way back from South Dakota and so glad we did. Iced tea was fresh brewed, service was very quick and the food was great. Very unexpected in a town of 48 people. Pretty good sized menu, we had the open face chicken and the open face prime rib. Both were very good. Also had the key like pie which was a small portion but very good. The inside is nicely decorated, very clean and not like a normal diner style. Overall great experience and we will stop again! read more

We had a wonderful steak and egg brunch while in the area hunting. The owner showed us a lot of antiques and collectibles he has collected.

Still heading to Sturgis & needing a little sustenance. We stopped at this little joint one hour north of Cheyenne & had a patty melt & I had the daily special pulled pork, coleslaw & dill pickle. The pulled pork was tender & moist no BBQ sauce needed & wet slaw. I tried The Fireman's patty melt & it was the first time I've had it. Surprisingly good! Something new to add to the list of foods. A cute little place on the highway. They serve American food. I read about this place in one of the blogs. They have a few vegetarian options on their menu. The waitress was very accommodating. She made a custom margarita for me. We also tried their pecan pie with ice cream and that was the best pecan pie I have every tired. must-go-to spot if you are in the area. read more

We have been traveling to the Emporium for several years and have never been disappointed. A lunch stop on our travels between Cheyenne and Torrington and due to the best Prime Rib in southeast Wyoming, we make it a destination stop on Friday or Saturday nights. Friendly service, awesome food, and deserts with that next-level touch that you won't find anywhere else. The Emporium competes with (and more often than not, outperforms) any steak house in Cheyenne, Wheatland, Chugwater, Douglas, Scottsbluff, or Torrington. We stopped through during a road trip. Thank goodness. We got lucky. If we hadn't, we would have missed the best pie we've ever had. Yep. The service was great. My family chatted with the workers as it was a slow day and they were very nice. The service was matched and even surpassed by the pie. We're not pie slouches in my family, and we all agreed that this was it. Their Papa's Buttermilk Pecan Pie, which is a flavor my family and I are not always partial to, blew our minds. The flavor of the day was a kind of rhubarb we also did not know if we would love, but we were proven wrong. It was also fabulous. We talk about the pie way too often for a family who lives in Chicago and will not be able to get back soon or even ever. No, I can't think like that. One day I'll get back. One day I'll get back and get more of that incredible pie. read more

Have heard good things about this place. With a limited choice of restaurants where we live, we thought the 30 minute drive was worth it. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed a quiet Saturday lunch of prime rib and steak. Great service as well. We'll be back. read more

After hearing the radio praise this restaurant as a top ten eating place for Nebraska I had to give it a go. Thursday notes are not a busy time for this place apparently. The decor was pleasant. The service was good not to pushy but abalone if needed. I started with a bread appetizer. The bread was very good but it needed olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The special for the evening was Cornish game hen. After getting my order which looked very good. Yes it was except the hen was a little under done. The best part of the dish was chickpeas with almonds grapes a pasta . The hen out the window and eat the side it was extremely good . The glass of Pinot was also quite good . I topped the dinner off with a lemon white chocolate mousse . I could eat that every day. I would have given five stars but the game hen just would not let me. read more

I found this delightful gem on yelp* and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly but not cloying. I had perused the menu before I arrived but don't waste your time. Once I heard the specials, I selected one of those: pan-seared scallops over creamy polenta and fried-green tomatoes with ratatouille. The dish was complex with just the right amount of heat. The beer selection was lovely with many microbrews available. They were running a 2 for 1 on some of the beers which was an added bonus! I ate every bite and leisurely enjoyed my beers on the patio before returning to my hotel. read more

I stopped by here on my to South Dakota, not biker friendly by any means. The service was extremely poor they were extremely rude. It took forever to get my food, and I was not happy when I received it. The price was outrageous. I paid a fine dining price for microwavable food. read more

The absolute place in Goshen County WY, Perhaps all of Wyoming for some down home cooking. Usually a clear the plate kinda place. Regular menu is wonderful, but specials can certainly cheer your day up. My last favorite special was homemade enchiladas, cleared my plate and walked away satisfied. I stopped in for lunch during a cross-country trip from Sacramento to Minneapolis. I got one of the simpler things on the menu - burger with cheese and green chilis. The burger was large, tasty, and with just the right amount of toppings. Fresh coffee, and I was good to go. Emporium is clean and comfy with eager, friendly staff.
