I was very disappointed at the Cheyenne Rib and chophouse. I have been to several other locations and the service was better at the other locations.. Let's start with the food: House salad consisted of lettuce, two tomatoes, two pieces of cucumber and some nasty ranch dressing. I couldn't eat the salad because the dressing was nasty. Filet mignon was cooked to the right temperature, but it was gristly on the inside You would think being in Wyoming, you would get a good piece of piece of meat. Especially for the prices you pay. So it was like 8 o'clock at night and I sat at the bar. There was only three other patrons at the bar service was extremely slow. Half the time I had no idea where the server went. So I had to wait to get another drink. When I ordered another beer, they brought me the wrong type of beer than what I was drinking I ordered food to go to take back to my kid in the hotel room. And when I was done, eating my meal. They asked me if I wanted anything else so I asked how's that takeout order coming and the waitress commented. Oh, I totally forgot. So they did comp the takeout but had to sit there for another 20 to 30 minutes waiting for it The place was not busy, very disappointed in this particular chophouse. Not sure if I would take a chance returning

Run the other way! I was here with my family a month ago and the bathrooms were closed. So, how does the staff wash their hands? At that time, the food and service were fine. Meals were overpriced but expected for the location. It was good enough for us to return with our aging parents. Back in today for lunch. At least 15 empty tables spread out over the dining areas. I had a corner seat so I was able to see who was coming and going. I also saw several (10) wait staff standing around. I overheard the manager tell them not to huddle around the host station. So I was shocked when they said we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. When we finished lunch they still had empty tables and bored wait staff. The first photo had a couple of occupied tables and the second photo was taken an hour later when the diners had left. The new "Rodeo" menu raised the already expensive prices. Besides that, they didn't have the $19.95 Executive Lunch. I ordered the overpriced NY Strip from the new menu. They didn't have it available or several other items on the "new menu." The temperature was frigid! I'm from the south and accustomed to a/c during the summer. It's such a contrast to 90 degree outdoor heat. This was ridiculously cold, like 55 degrees. Our server said she could move us 3 tables down to see if it was less cold. But if we move she can no longer be our server. That was odd since no one was working and no more patrons arrived. She's the same one who told us "sorry, we have no control over the a/c." Only to be told by a different person they would try to adjust it. And they did. Overall, they attempted to be accommodating but I'd rather eat elsewhere! It's just not worth the hassle.

Filet mignon & perfectly baked potato were outstanding!

I love this place! I've been here a few times now and yesterday I had the best experience with Morgan (she was a total doll - kind, attentive, helpful service all the way)! I started with a delightful mocktail, moved on to perfect boneless buffalo wings, & ended with the 7 ounce filet mignon & giant baked potato for lunch. The filet was cooked to absolute perfection - exactly how I like it. The potato was delightful - it was probably 12 ounces with real butter (they have fresh sea salt grinders on the table, and that was also wonderful, as I'm a salt girl). The ambience is 100% Wyoming steakhouse which I love and honestly everything was five stars. They have a great bar and tons of parking in the lot or on the street. Go!!

    My Manhattan was delicious.

We had an amazing dinner here, thanks to the recommendation from our hotel front desk staff. My Manhattan was delicious, the gumbo was great, our steaks were perfect, our server was amazing, and we will run back there next time we're in Cheyenne!

Note the lemon wedges clinging for dear life on that water. That's the ticket!

Salad was awful. Salmon said brown sugar, but I never had brown sugar taste so bad. Not recommended, go to Outback instead.

Food is awesome - service is not. I went one Thursday…read moreevening after work in March and I had been trying to get here for weeks. I was aware this is a new-ish place but I love steak houses - from basic supper clubs to high end establishments with history and culinary renown. I have traveled all of the US and have eaten some of the best steaks money can buy... I wanted this place to be gem so badly and for it to become my go to local favorite. Time will tell but my first trip was less than I had hoped - First I was asked to sit at the bar since I was "only one person". (Strike 1). I'm a big guy... you figure the hostess might have picked up on this fact... The place was dead ... so I didn't understand this. I guess it was about an hour until they officially close and maybe we're short staffed. The bartender / servers (there were two) - but they also handled the entire casino floor bar in addition to being my waiters so I received less than attentive service because of the sheer number of people they had to service. The restaurant bar is tucked on the backside of the main casino bar. (Strike 2). I would have easily been convinced to have a bottle of wine or at least a couple of glasses and I was leaning toward trying the Porterhouse (what I originally came for) but it took so long for someone to check on me I decided one beer and something quick to eat because I could see it wasn't going to be a the stellar experience I had hoped for. This is a shame - because the food ended up being awesome. From the bread service which was surprisingly delicious / to my salad (very good) and the 10oz filet(which was actually (2) 5oz medallions ) was perfectly seasoned and cooked at an exact medium rare as I ordered it. I also tried the Burgundy Demi-Glace which was spot on perfect as far as sauces go which really showcased the taste talents of the chef. The whipped potatoes were also fantastic - exactly as I like them and could have eaten two additional orders. I wish the menu or server would have described the filet as two medallions rather than one cut tenderloin as one would expect in a fine dining establishment - but nonetheless - I was delighted by the food. I skipped desert and coffee because I the server didn't come back to ask after dinner for quite some time and I decided perhaps I should get home... The service and lack of even the most basic of attention made me feel like I was putting the staff out for coming in at 8pm. Again - not the bar staff's fault entirely but the lack of understanding of the restaurant manager is more the issue. Call it a supper club or an upscale diner if a service doesn't come with the $46 steak. The restaurant is 20 minutes from my house and I could see eating there at least once per week - I will try again and hope they work out the kinks - but I'll drive to rib& chop in Cheyenne or Rare in Fort Collins until this place matures and level of service catches up with the food quality and price . - if you want to make High Plains Steakhouse a fine dinning destination - you need to step up the service and at least try to make all patrons feel as the experience is worth the price.

I would have been happy if she'd just put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Needless to say, the meal was delicious, and the take-home plate was an added bonus heated-up at home the next day... T-Joes is our "to go place" for a good prime rib, steak, shrimp & hamburgers. Great place to gather for special occasions like birthdays, graduation, or any other excuse to celebrate. They also fix "to go" boxes which I get to take to the ranch for a nice evening meal. Then, they went into bankruptcy, and took their time to reopen selectively with a new menu and supposedly a better business plan. I waited a year until visiting after they reopened, hoping they'd have their new act together. Sorry, it's just not there, yet. Let's go down the list: #1, prices are way too high for the restaurant niche they're trying to recapture. I don't expect endless shrimp for $12.99 like the old days (which is why they went bankrupt) but a fried fish platter for $30 is outrageous for the same breaded filets, shrimp & scallops you can get in the Kroger's frozen food aisle for about $10. Then, #2, the funkytown nightclub music they have blaring feels waaaay out of place. You can't find some Island vibe music from Hawaii or the Caribbean? The music was really annoying. And, #3, just about everything is ala carte now, including salads. It's almost impossible to have a full meal, salads to desserts, for less than $50 a person. Hey, it's a Red Lobster, not a downtown steakhouse. Get real about pricing! The only good notes to report are their Happy Hour, 3-6pm M-F, to save a few bucks. And, at least the service at this Cheyenne location was courteous, prompt and very attentive. Aside from that, I probably won't be back for at least another year in hopes they start giving customers a little price break on mediocre seafood.
