With not much left to do before dinner we decided to do some day drinking. Dive bars are a particular favorite of ours and with just a few choices available we found the Lamp Lounge. From the beginning we knew we came to the right place. Our bartender, Delaney, was awesome and made some strong drinks! We were traveling with our small pup and we were able to bring him in and keep him on our lap. We stayed for a few hours and enjoyed several drinks while listening to the jukebox. A few travelers passing through meandered in but we mostly had the bar to ourselves. Lamp Lounge has a large area with pool tables, a stage and dance floor. They had a list with daily drink specials although drinks were very reasonably priced. If you find yourself in Cheyenne the Lamp Lounge is worthy of a visit!

The inside is like any, small taqueria you'd find in New Mexico or Texas. I ordered the chorizo plate to go. It comes with a massive, paper-thin tortilla. I wasn't expecting that and had ordered two. My mistake. But, a tasty one. The tortillas are tender, albeit really thin. I found myself tearing and folding to make a decent hand taco. BUT, that chorizo is excellent! The rice and beans were good as well, but pretty standard for flavor. They have a great selection of salsas and pico. Even have some escabeché, which was a nice surprise. Prices are reasonable and service is very friendly. If travel ever finds me in Cheyenne for the night again, I'm coming back to Rudolfo's.
