We went here to celebrate a birthday for our family. When we called to make a reservation due to our party size the restaurant was very accommodating for the time a lot we requested. The server checked in on us throughout the entire dinner service and had some great recommendations for us off of the menu. Julio was fantastic and gave us some great recommendations off the wine menu and checked on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our time at the restaurant. We have been here a few times before and definitely will be returning! I can't wait for our next food experience, I'm sure it will be a memorable one. read more

Worst service ever. And to add insult to injury, my friend left no tip as a result--and they proceeded to add 20% themselves! My friend only found this out when she looked at her credit card statement. Now she has to deal with getting this cleared up. Based on suggestion of Channel 5 I placed a reservation with this restaurant for Thanksgiving day. I thought it odd that while placing a restaurant reservation they wanted my credit card, but since it was a holiday I went along with it. The day before we attempted to cancel our reservation since I came down with bronchitis. No one would answer the phone, so my only recourse to make the cancellation was through Open Table. I was very displeased when I received my credit card ststement and saw I had been charged for meals not served or consumed. I called Hotel Vin and they refused to reverse the charge, so through my credit card I submitted a charge dispute which still ended up in me being charged. BUYER BEWARE - THIS PLACE IS RUNNING A SCAM. I don't know if their food is good or not, but NEVER will I grace their establishment and the reader should think twice before going here. read more

We came here for my birthday by train. I had made reservations on open table. When we arrived there were about 6 people at the bar and absolutely no other employees around but the bartenders. I told the bartender we had reservations but if it was ok to sit at the bar. She stated yes that was fine, it was no "big deal." Well that has turned out to be the complete opposite. Open table was notified that I "did not" attend my reservations, which they will not allow you to make reservations any further through them if the issues is not cleared up. Ive sent messages and apparently in 2021 computer systems no long allow you to look up transactions. The female bartender was nice at first. Then we asked for an old fashion with a specific brand and she got all weird and moody and gave an attitude. Her drinks were gross. The meatballs were squishy as if they were meatball flavored tofu, we couldn't even finish them. We wanted this place to be so much better than it actually is. I wish I had seen a specific menu before making reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet and inviting family. Many dishes important to a traditional Thanksgiving meal were missing.... no dressing or stuffing. No cranberry sauce. No green beans or green bean casserole. No sweet potato casserole... sweet potato french fries are not a reasonable substitute. No veg, like carrots or squash. Only some mashed potatoes. No pumpkin pie. No apple pie. The turkey and roast beef were lonely on the plate! I was so embarrassed, having paid $120 EACH when gratuity was added. read more

We were very excited to try this restaurant as a good friend recommended us to it. We made a reservation by the windows and were granted that request. The host was super sweet and got us water while we waited to be seated and the hotel and restaurant were beautiful. We were a little disappointed that the menu had recently been reduced but the food we did select and eat was delicious. We had the meatballs and bacchus bread to start with. Honestly, at this price point I'm not sure why they don't give the bread complimentary but it was good. Meatballs were delicious. Both gentlemen I was with had the filet, and I had the scallops. We also had Brussels and Gouda grits. All was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The only disappointment was our service which is such a shame when you go to a restaurant in this price point. I'm currently pregnant and suffering with gestational diabetes so my diet is about as limited as you can get. The way the server addressed me initially made me feel like a burden. My Arnold Palmer was accidentally made with coffee instead of unsweet tea and when I informed him he dismissed me until my husband tasted it and told him it was definitely coffee...then when I was asking if the dressing on the wedge salad was pasteurized (safe for pregnant women to eat) he said no, but that there was vinegar in there which pretty much made it ok. Unfortunately, I didn't feel comfortable risking it. All in all maybe he just has an abrasive personality, but when we are intentionally going to upscale or fine dining restaurants each weekend until our baby is born in hopes of being accommodated for my insufferably strict diet, we expect a better level of service. The last thing I want is to feel attitude or like I'm a burden when I'm paying $200+ for a meal. read more

First and last time I'll be coming here. Wouldn't let us try a sample of the lentil soup before we ordered, ended up getting shrimp and grits from the lunch menu and it lacked flavor, grits were bland, no flavor, shrimp were not seasoned. I've had shrimp and grits before and this is not it. Waiter was MIA for 10 minutes before I could send this dish back for something else. Presentation was great just no flavor. read more

I was there for a company holiday team dinner. I had red snapper with risotto and a side dish of mushrooms. Risotto was not cooked through with hard core. Fish was not tender, but ok. Mushrooms were fine except for being too salty. Service was super slow. We were not in a hurry but the server was not attentive at all. We were left unattended in between appetizers and main dishes. To celebrate the holiday season, friends joined my husband and I for dinner in the Christmas Capital of Texas at the newly opened Bacchus Kitchen + Bar on Sunday, December 27, 2020. We arrived at 7:30 PM, which was our reservation time, and were informed there would be a brief wait while our table was prepared so we opted to move to the bar for a cocktail. Service was fairly slow and less than attentive at the bar given the minimal patrons. Unfortunately, these issues were a recurring theme once seated for dinner, which were likely only exacerbated by the fact we never saw the same server more than once during our meal - we had approximately 5 different servers, again they were not busy. We had to request additional cocktails, water and for our entre plates to be cleared at which point the server stated our check would be delivered momentarily --- apparently desserts and/or after dinner drinks are not an option. We promptly paid our tab and departed for after dinner drinks elsewhere. We had better service at the bar during their grand opening celebration Thursday, September 3, 2020. I realize we visited during the holidays, but shockingly they were not busy at all. Sadly, better service can be gained at QSR's and casual dine establishments - they do not come close to what I expect when visiting a Marriott flag hotel. Beautiful inside, food was delish, cocktails were tasty but not filled to the rim, and definitely a loud restaurant. Don't go if you don't like loud. It's a loud environment. Beautiful, but loud, especially if sat near the bar. But the timeliness of a reservation was quite the poor experience for our first visit. We had reservations at 8:30p on a Saturday. The hostess said we had a small wait for people to finish and open up a table and offered us to go to patio on 4th floor for a cocktail. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, we met the line for drink. It was a 15min wait standing in line and more were piling off the elevator quickly making the line a lengthy one. Only 2 bartenders I could see working the small setup. The patio was nice and the bubbles were a fun novelty (reservations only) but being that it is February, cold and windy, not an ideal place to be outside. We made the best of it and found a heater to sit near (since there was not much seating inside on the 4th floor). We finally had to call the front desk after it had been an hour wait for our reservation! They said they were still waiting for tables to open. So we decided to go down to hostess stand and speak with management. We finally were sat at 9:45pm! Food was delicious - both the filet and the salmon were cooked to perfection - medium/medium rare. We will try again as the service at our table was attentive, however disappointing to be sat so late. read more

Decent food, drink is something to be desired, heavy on the mixers light on the alcohol. The Helen of Troy was 99% sweet and sour and the rest a splash of tequila with an "artsy" twist of "black salt" to offset the terrible amount of citrus in the drink. Service is questionable, had to try multiple times just to get a drink of water. My best advice is stick to the basics here, it's a new restaurant with new staff and the bartenders are trying their best, but falling wicked short. Kitchen wouldn't hurt for a nice upgrade either. Bad first impression, but will probably give it another shot. Also to note SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NOT HAPPENING IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. NEITHER IS THE 50% OCCUPANCY!!! for those who care. read more

Had lunch here last week. Server told us they had Happy Hour from 3:30 - 6:30 weekdays. Arrived this evening and hostess told us Happy Hour was only at the bar. We asked if we could be seated at a table and she said we had to order an entree. We asked if we had salads and appetizers would that be okay. She said no. We had to have an entree. Order wedge salad , came with two pieces of lettuce and drenched in Caesar dressing, asked waitress where bacon was and she said mixed in dressing. Shishito peppers limp and not charred at all. 4 of us tried this new restaurant last night. There were moments of brilliance and then there was the rest...We were greeted and seated right away but service went down hill from there. Tried the gnocchi and crab starter. Don't bother very little taste except fishy crab. The starter salad was made with fresh greens and nicely dressed but the shrimp bisque was meh. The chicken main course and mushroom risotto were perfection! The trout was disappointing . Skip the signature GIn and Tonic, it was flat and not worth the premium price. The hotel and restaurant are lovely and some of the food was great but they need to pick up their game to make it worth the price especially with all the other great choices in Grapevine! read more

My friend of 20+ years wanted to take me here for my birthday and although the hotel has a very elegant rustic feel to it, to highlight being in Grapevine, the experience and food at the restaurant was disappointing. My friend had been to the hotel for drinks a couple months earlier and enjoyed the atmosphere, and wanted to try the restaurant. We both wanted to do lunch and when we got there on a Saturday afternoon, it not only took what felt like forever to be served or asked if we wanted a drink, we instead watched the manager and hostess fiddle with the stack of empty glassware on a beautiful credenza next to our table obsessively the entire time we were there yet not once come to our table. When our sweet server did finally come to our table, we were then informed- no lunch- only brunch until 3:00pm and then bar food. Dinner at 5:30. We looked at each other with disappointment because the brunch menu didn't excite us, but ok. So we proceeded to order brunch at 3:00pm, and mimosas. Maybe we would get one of those valuable glasses they have piled up on the counter in the middle of the restaurant they are really concerned about? I ordered eggs Benedict, and my friend ordered what she could because she doesn't eat fried food or red meat... the prices are on the higher end- about $17 for the Benedict and $45 for mimosas. Not worth it, really. What was the best part of the entire meal and experience? Being with my friend and enjoying each other's company! We think the server felt bad about the hopes we had to do lunch so he came by at the end of the meal and gave only me (?) a complimentary glass of champagne and their version of beignets- it was a very nice gesture. Don't expect them to be New Orleans style- they are different and fried to a dark brown - Ultimately, I would go back to the hotel bar or to stay there because it is a lovely and lively place- I probably wouldn't eat at the restaurant again. No food wow factor there, at least for us and maybe we just don't realize dinner is the better time to go. read more

This place is beautiful and the outside area is great. We went here on 10/10 for our 10th anniversary and wasn't really that impressed with the food. If just going for apps/starters and drinks then I would say great selection but be prepared to pay $13 for a small Tito's & cranberry juice which I think is just ridiculous. My husband got Jack & diet and it was $12 for a small glass. The main course of Scallops & Pork Cheek was good, not a lot of flavor on the pork cheek at all but the grits were good - was it worth $38 a plate, no. Not a lot of social distancing in the inside seating area as we had tables full on both sides of us and the tables weren't spread out. Bar was full as well. Wasn't even offered dessert so I can't comment on that. Service was ok, but us and the table beside us had to wait so long for the yeast rolls we had both ordered that the other table sent theirs back because they didn't show up until after their entrees. I don't know if the waitress wasn't putting stuff into the system right or not but she kept saying she would check on things and it still took a very long time. So, I would go back for the outside entertainment and I would stay at the hotel but skipping dinner. read more
