This was one of the bougiest things we did in New Orleans, but the environment is so casual and relaxed and not stuffy at all! It feels like a neighborhood backyard hangout. This was pretty out of the way, but I really wanted to make it out here and I am so glad I did. There was a wine tasting going on when we went, and I really loved one of the sparkling white wines so we picked one up. They put it in a bucket of ice, and we sat and sipped while listening to the live music. The musician that was playing that night was Jesse Morrow. The atmosphere was great. We decided to get another bottle of wine, and also got some (expensive) chocolate bark that melted very quickly in the New Orleans heat, lol. I wasn't hungry enough for a charcuterie board, but I love the choose-your-own concept and it looked really good! You will likely drop quite a bit of money here, but how much is really up to you. The bar upstairs is really nice too. We got another drink before closing time and got to chat a bit with the musician. A really unique and charming business, and I made some really great memories.

My daughter found this place while visiting New Orleans so we decided to try it. It was a great recommendation! It's in a neighborhood, on a corner (old grocery store but looks like a house). We drove past it twice lol. It's street parking. You walk in and there's a store on the bottom level, but go outside and upstairs and it's a full bar. Pretty cool decor and atmosphere. There are plenty of tables outside in the backyard and a small stage for live music. We'd go back. Pretty cool place.

If you're looking for a fun, outside of the box experience in NOLA, I highly recommend getting yourself over to Bacchanal Wine. It was recommended to me by a former resident and I almost brushed it off because it wasn't near any of the other things I planned to see and do. Don't let that discourage you! Get in a vehicle and go! The concept at Bacchanal is great. You have many options Grab a bottle of wine in the shop or get individual drinks outside. Select any variety of cheeses and/or cured meats from their fridge and they will plate them with all the fixings needed for a great charcuterie board (bread, pickles, olives, spreads, etc). Or you can order various other items (including hot items) outside in the wine garden. It's covered so even if it rained you'd be... covered. Keep an eye out on the music schedule because there will be gaps and the performances aren't nonstop throughout the day. The whole scene is very laid back and cool. Even on the chilly day we were here, the outdoor heaters provided the perfect amount of comfort for a leisurely visit. All in all, if you love wine, charcuterie, and jazz, it's not to be missed.

What a special spot! I be love the whole vibe and concept of Bacchanal. It's relaxed to its core, local neighbor hang spot and all the peeps who work here are friendly and welcoming. Pick out your bottle of wine, make up your own charcuterie tray, find a cozy spot out on the patio and listen to some amazing music! If you'd prefer a cocktail, you can go up stairs to the bar, there are some places to sit up there too or watch from the music from balcony. Their full food menu looks delish as well. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails on summer evening, listened to a lovely jazz trio under the lights, it was dreamy!

If you want to come and get some outdoor time and some good wine with a live band this is the place!! It's 21 and up, bottles of wine are affordable from $25-60 and they also have non alcoholic drinks to choose from as well. The vibe is always cute, this is what I chose to do for my Sunny Saturday!

What a pleasant place. Visited on a Wednesday night, there was a live band playing and nearly a full house outside. There's a selection of wine bottles to choose from upon entry, with knowledgeable employees that will help you pick out your wine. Glasses of wine are available upstairs. We ordered the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Patatas Fritas, and Confit Chicken Leg. All were fantastic.

My heart is with this beautiful city of New Orleans, and all the lives lost and injured. Despite me still being here, it is difficult for me to write some of these reviews, considering they were places I visited prior to the incident of January 1st, 2025. Always keep your safety a priority. My two friends and I went to Bacchanal, from the outside it looks to be a dive bar. But wait till you step inside, it's a whole other world. You'll immediately find a whole assortment of wine, that you can purchase to have while enjoying live music. You can sit upstairs at the bar, or outside, where the live music is. We did both. This place has a very cool, wired feel as you're navigating your way around. At the bar, there was a very personable bartender, who made us very tasty cocktails. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what they were called or what the base was. After the drinks we went downstairs to where the live musicians were playing their local jazz music. We wanted to get some appetizers, but everything we wanted was sold out. We decided to go for the bread and butter, and the bacon wrapped dates. This butter was black, and seemed very heavy on olive oil, it was served with sourdough bread. Not a crowd favorite, but interesting nonetheless. The dates were very good, a bit sweet, a very surprisingly pleasant app. We had such a fun time at Bacchanal, from the vibe, to the drinks, and the music. I would for sure return here again.

I love, love, love this place. The outdoors and live music make it a fresh breathe of air away from the touristy spots. Happy hour is our favorite. The food is always tasty and they have an excellent selection of wines and cheeses to create your own charcuterie plate.

We walked nearly 40 long minutes to visit but it was totally worth it. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a delicious Italian white wine. You choose your wine in the shop and they give you the setup for the patio. Or you can purchase the wine to go. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Bacchanal never disappoints. From the food and wine to the outdoor ambiance and music; it's like a backyard party with elevated food - bacon wrapped dates? Yes, please. Customized cheese plates; bread and black garlic honey butter; panna cotta; there are tapas for everyone! Pssttt...there is a bar up the side steps; they have Happy Hour drink specials! Do yourself a favor and enjoy a little Bacchanal in the Bywater!

Every Wednesday, I've been diving into the free wine tastings--and each experience is more electrifying than the last. This week, we sampled three distinct wines, each boasting its own unique flair, and paired them with irresistible small bites. The Bacon Wrapped Dates and crispy Papas Fritas were absolute showstoppers, delivering bursts of flavor in every bite. The day began under a radiant sky, inviting us to savor the charming courtyard's outdoor ambiance. As a playful breeze picked up, we seamlessly shifted our revelry indoors to a spacious, vibrant bar where the expertly crafted drinks and impeccable service kept the energy soaring.

Ask the Community - Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits

Do y'all do high school reunions?

Is it BYOB at all ? Is there a bar that also serves beer/liquor or is wine the only option ? Asking for my group where some people don't drink wine. Thanks !

Hi Prachi, We do not allow outside spirits into Bacchanal, but we do have a full bar, a lovely cocktail menu, and plenty of wines by the glass as well as our bottle shop!

Are kids allowed on patio/ during the day?

Hi Greg, just wanted to set the record straight on this, in fact we are zoned as a bar/nightclub, so please be aware that no one under 21 is permitted in the venue.

Is this place better during the day or night?

Much better at night under the stars.

    Are strollers Forbidden?

If there is a child in it or around it, yes. Only those 21+ can come inside is my understanding.

What is the average price for a bottle of wine?

Hard to say. There is a wide variety in type and quality. I think the least expensive was under $10. I would say you will easily find something you like (many) between $10-$15

What's the range of prices for the cheese & meats?

You buy the cheese individually. A typical cheese runs $4 to 8 and meat is $10. This does not include the fee for turning your selection into a beautiful cheese board. My total i'l co ed t for a 3 cheese board was $25, and it filled 3 people

My flight lands on a Thursday at 5 and I plan to head to this place around 7/8 the same night. Will there be a painful wait on a Thursday at 7/8? This is a party of 2.

Since it is communal sitting, U won't have a problem at that time. Enjoy 🎶

Is this place restricted to 21+?

I believe so as they card you at the door....unless you have my grey hair!

Not from the area and confused about getting dinner there. They don't have a dinner menu online but say dinner is served until 5 pm in certain areas?…

They serve food until 11pm and 12am on weekends!

The space leans relaxed and social, with a tapas-style menu that's intentionally limited. While the dishes aren't coming out of the flagship kitchen, you can absolutely taste the influence. This is not typical bar food. Our table ordered a range of dishes: tuna tartare with nori sheets, French onion dip with Zapp's chips, duck fried rice, barbecue shrimp, and a dry-aged strip loin, finishing with a decadent strawberry cake. A highlight of the evening was learning more about the barbecue shrimp. EJ (Emeril's son) shared that it's prepared in a pan with a base of Worcestershire and jalapeños, then finished with cream, butter, and chives. The result is rich, layered, and--according to him--very close to the version served at Emeril's back in 1990. It shows. Standouts for us were the tuna tartare and the shrimp; the sauce on the shrimp in particular really delivers. The strip loin was much larger than expected (and priced accordingly), and while well-executed, it begged for a side like fries, which surprisingly aren't on the menu. The duck fried rice was solid but felt a bit out of place compared to the rest of the lineup. The onion dip, unfortunately, was a miss for us. Service was a bit uneven. The wine bar staff felt slightly too casual at times, lacking some of the polish you'd expect from the brand. Midway through the meal, a server from the main restaurant stepped in, and the difference in attentiveness and professionalism was immediately noticeable. On the cocktail front, my Sazerac didn't hit the mark; overly strong and lacking the balance and clarity you'd expect, especially compared to the excellent version I had later at the Sazerac Bar. One thing worth noting: even if wine isn't your primary interest (it isn't ours), guests here reportedly have access to selections from Emeril's impressive 30,000-bottle cellar. That's a major draw for wine enthusiasts. Overall, this is a great alternative if you can't land a reservation at the main restaurant. Come for the atmosphere and a few standout dishes, manage expectations on service and cocktails, and you'll have a very enjoyable experience.

Four delicate leaves of butter lettuce with a creamy dressing embrace tiny succulent squares of perfectly fried tofu smothered in Buffalo sauce. It's divine and you should order these no matter what. The other remarkable attribute of Bar Brine is the service. We had the sweetest waitress and she was totally understanding when my friend sent her frozen drink back because it was more strong than sweet (she's a bit of a wimp oh well). She was also very attentive and helpful with the menu. I love Sneaky Pickle, when during the day there's plenty of vegan lunch options and a bright, sunny dining room. At night, Bar Brine turns sultry, boozy and edgy/romantic. Perfect for a date or group of friends (though admittedly the acoustics reminded me of when it was Maurepas years ago and how loud it was in there). My friend and I couldn't stop going on about the Buffalo tofu and naturally were excited for the main course, grilled trumpet mushrooms over grits. Unfortunately, this is nowhere in the league of the tofu dish and it may be because I don't love rubbery textures, but I found it bland. The grits are coarse and not too flavorful either. Salt helped but I can't recommend this entree. I'll definitely return for doubles on the Buffalo tofu and hopefully will try the tempeh reuben or cauliflower vegan options next time. Also cool because your vegan-dubious friends can order meaty fare here if they don't trust and believe that the Buffalo tofu ranks up there with the best things you'll eat in this town.

Got to eat outside which made things better. If you're after a meal, this is ok, if you're after drinks (wine) this is your place.

There's a balcony that you can relax on for free, with visuals of intimate activities that range from BDSM to DDLG (Daddy dom/Little girl). Needless to say, this wouldn't be suitable for anyone who isn't comfortable with that kind of artwork. This place advertises burlesque shows and "Shibari", however I did not see any of that during my visit. I do not dock points though because I'm certain there's a schedule that shows when these events occur. If you're interested in seeing one, best to make sure when they're taking place. There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Aside from those minor concerns with cleanliness and communication, I'd still say to give Fetiche Nola a shot if you're looking for a unique place to start off a long night of partying. With its creative cocktail selection along with its sexually inclusive vibes, you could be sure to have one heck of a time!

(This actually was one of my favorite bars besides his other bar!! High Grace-make sure u get a coupon for it here.) Found this bar by accident and so glad I did. Bartender will make and throw any drink together and they are so good. Have a food truck in back (reviewed it already but can't remember the name). It's been since June when I was there for my birthday but Kristie's room story behind it, she had known them or worked for them but she had passed away (RIP & I thought it was cool because her name is my name spelled exactly the same way. ) would totally go here all the time!!
