I'm currently pregnant and the burger I had from Baby's was pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to me

Oh I forgot to take pictures. This was my 3rd and final try and not going anymore. That dried up piece of burger was not worth 12$ fries was nasty. It all felt like cheap imitation products. I can fix myself a better frozen burger than that and that's what they gave me for 12$$!. Not going back. The chicken is even worse. read more

Baby's reminded me of Riverdale's Pops Chocolate Shop. Such a neat 80's diner vibe with a mix of 90s - 2000s music. Outside of the ambience, the food was great. I had a Strut Burger, which had smoked Gouda and mango chutney and Strawberry milkshake, both didn't disappoint. My friend had the same burger and a Chocolate Peanut Butter milkshake which she also enjoyed. I'd come back to Baby's, it's hard to do a good burger in a city with a lot of good burgers, I think Baby's is around to stay. read more

Very cute place and fun drag shows but get your tickets fast! They sell quick! Great staff and service! Cocktails are great too!

Today was my third time eating here. The food is amazing. Portions are generous so come hungry or you'll definitely have some to take home. Their online ordering is perfect! Update 2020: We have since visited Baby's many times since the original review last year. I am bumping to 4 stars because their service is very good and they have been very accommodating during this COVID pandemic. I have order most things on the menu and I like everything. The only reason I didn't select 5 stars is that the price is a little high. -------- Original 2019: We visited Baby's on opening night around 6pm. I was expecting the wait to be long but it wasn't too bad. They estimated 30 minutes and that was about right. The server, Austin, was very good and made sure to check in regularly. The food was very good and the price was not too bad. I ordered the strut burger which was $12. The atomosphere was busy and a loud but that's expected on opening night. There's a bar but the restaurant seems kid friendly. There's even an outside area. The problem was the wait time after we ordered: the time it took to cook the food. I think we waited somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour for two burgers and fries. Maybe I was getting hangry and not thinking clearly but this really ruined the whole experience. Even looking around at other tables, no one had food because they were either waiting to be served or already scarfed it down. 2nd interaction with this restaurant and plain and simple they are SLOW and WAY too expensive for what they offer. It's not worth it at all and especially not from grubhub who takes an extra 40mins to deliver something when the location is barely 10mins away. $30 for 1 burger, 1 grilled chicken sandwich and 1 tiny cup of old spicy slaw that could've at least come with a fork for what they charge. Unfortunately one of the worst burger places I have ever had. I ordered a single cheeseburger and the bread was dry, hard and too thick. The patty was dry and cold. The toppings which were swiss cheese, onions and mayo did not contribute nicely to the sandwich, definitely did not meet expectations. Fries were good and are given in a lot of portions. Also tried the fish and chips and found the cod to be quite dry and hard, and by the taste, the fries and fish might have been cooked in the same oil unfortunately. High expections and good reviews led me to this place but I was quickly led to a disappointing and unpleasant experience for my family and I. read more

Is anyone else upset at Baby's lack of control and down grade in experience since moving to the first come first serve basis? We waited in line (almost 20 minutes) to get our food, only to have no table to sit down at when our food came and also saw a party of 2 sitting at a 5 top. What is going on? Not to mention, they got rid of their shot and beer combo and raised their already crazy high prices even higher. Wow. This place is awesome! There is street parking on the sides. Walkin greeted by the host, who was super nice! Get seated. Server explains the menu. There is one side of the menu which is JUST DRINKS! Other side is food! The decor is soo fun! Pretty and pink everywhere! Cute little bar: kid friendly awesome outdoor patio with garage door that opens up! I wish it was warmer out to enjoy the nice patio! The sauces are ON POINT. Spicy honey was my fav! I needed a fun place to go downtown for a quick bite with my nine-year-old daughter and Baby's perfectly fit the bill. She absolutely adored it the minute we walked in and saw pink neon, a yellow chandelier with pops of lime green everywhere. Cute and bright with a full bar and great reasonably priced food...who could ask for more? We sat on the patio which was sunny & fun. She had the chicken and a side of fries, which was a huge portion - definitely enough for several people to share. I had the strut burger which was really good...but you can't go wrong with smoked gouda and bacon, can you? Their sodas are all housemade and the cola flavor was really good, she had the curious shake of the day which was orange cream - I think she had it gone in 10 seconds flat. The attention to detail as far as the decor is absolutely amazing. They didn't miss a beat, even the bathrooms are really really cool. LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been here multiple times. I always get a burger, but the last time I went I got chicken. I thought it would be baked but it was fried. I was judging that it would be baked based off the picture on the menu. Kind of looks like a rotisserie. I had a take out order and I paid for a milkshake but they did not bring it out... Second time at Baby's. Parking is street parking or a small lot across from the restaurant. Staff is quick to seat us and take our orders. I ordered the baby strut burger with caramelized onions, peaches and crepe milkshake which was the milkshake of the month. The loaded baked potato fries . The smash burgers here are so good, it came with two smash patties, smoked Gouda, mango chutney, pickles and caramelized onions. So good and so filling! The onion rings were seasoned well and the sauce that came with it was something like a spicy comeback sauce. The crunch was so satisfying and onion separated when you bit into it versus pulling all out. The fries themselves could have been a little better seasoned but overall good! The fries had bacon, sour cream, green onions, and cheddar cheese. The inside is super cute and recently had renovation. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well and is dog friendly! This is such a nice addition to the Old Northside! Everything about the interior is eye catching, from the neon signs to the bright wallpaper and decor. I went on a Thursday around 5:30 so I don't think the dinner rush had hit yet so service was quick and Court was so attentive and nice about checking in on us often. I ordered the Bye Felicia cocktail but it was so so hard to decide since each drink on the menu had such unique ingredients. I also got a basic burger and fries, and while the fries were great, it kind of tasted like my burger was grilled in the same area as a hot dog. It had that distinct hot dog taste, which didn't really bother me, I just wasn't expecting it. I would come here again for another fun cocktail (and to snap some more pics with the neon sign). Baby's is an amazing addition to Indy (possibly my favorite restaurant addition to downtown Indy this year). The ambiance is so unique and fun. Their menu is extremely limited with the healthy options being pretty pricy. I'm gluten and dairy free so I was hoping to see a good drink or two on the menu, but there's only one vegan milkshake at a time and the berry one was not good. It also took us 35 minutes to be sat even though half the restaurant was open. I hope the owners make some improvements to the menu and train staff to communicate with their customers when something must be going wrong. From my point of view, I felt neglected and when I finally was sat, the food was a disappointment. read more

Loved the 60's themed diner experience. With COVID precautions, Baby's has gone above and beyond. All staff are wearing masks, guests are asked to wear masks when not at table. They take your temperature at the door, which we really liked as well. As for the experience, it was overall great. They have an extensive cocktail menu. They have several seasonal cocktails that are on tap, which I was hesitant about but i LOVED the festivus drink which came with a rosemary sprig. For my second drink I got the YAAAAAAS! Both of my drinks were perfect for me, light, not too sweet but fruity. My husband got the Sir Elton John and the Halleloo. I would come back here for just drinks they were so good! For dinner we shared the buffalo fries, which we really liked! They were lightly drizzled with buffalo sauce and had blue cheese and small celery pieces. My husband got the baby strutt burger, and added an extra patty. I got the half broasted chicken. If you liked fried chicken, you will really love Baby's broasted chicken, it is extremely crispy. My only complaint was it took about 30 minutes longer than my husband's to come out--we didn't mind too much. The wait staff mentioned that they had several to go orders come in and they can only cook a certain number of the chickens at a time. A wonderful spot and evening! Disappointed to say the least. Upon entering a very nice space, greeted immediately, and sat down. Waitress came and I asked one question, I know my mistake. Do you serve coke or Pepsi products? I was told coke. Ordered a Sprite. Apparently they do not offer coke or Pepsi products, but instead offer a local craft sodas company. Congratulations to you! You might want to inform your wait staff. On to the food. Ordered a single smash burger, was okay but nothing special. The fires I ordered n the side were not even warm. I would have told the waitress, but after placing our order, never saw her again. Even had to go get the manager to check out. On a side note the ketchup on the table had gone bad, so be careful. We happened to drive by yesterday, and it's been on my list of places to go, so after other lunch plans fell through we headed back to Baby's to have a meal. What we ordered... Chocolate and Strawberry Milkshake Kids chicken drumstick with veggies and dip Glitz fries Half a chicken Chicken sandwich (Swiss, lettuce, tomato and mayo) with a side of Mac and cheese. I don't rate place based on appearance, but this place is colorful and cute. I like the magnetic tables with the mag formers. My kids were definitely happy about that. The food was "meh", better roasted/fried chicken elsewhere (the eagle on mass). My chicken burger was good, but the bottom bun although toasted, was stale. I did like the flavor of the grilled chicken. The milkshakes weren't to die for, but were good too. The fries were subpar. My daughter liked her kids meal chicken leg. I wish I would have tried a burger, my hope for this place lies there. Maybe one day I'll be back, it won't be because I suggested this place, more so someone I know would have to invite me. We came to Baby's on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. Our server Abby was sweet and very attentive. She got slammed with bigger tables while we were there so the service became a bit slow. We had to send our burgers back as they were burnt to a crisp. They informed us since they were "smash burgers" that they tend to get burnt and it's normal? Well, I've had several smash burgers in town and they never had this burnt taste. They put molasses in the burgers which I can now see why they could burn if not cooked properly. The shakes were great and the fries are nothing special , this was a 2nd time visit for me and the first time was much better. I may return again but not sure.... I want to this place as the atmosphere is so cool! I'll have to think about this one...... read more

I really wanted to like this place, it's very cute and trendy; who doesn't love a good burger place, right? We came at around 6:30 on a Sunday, got seated right away, but then waited 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table. The wait to get our food wasn't all that bad, but the fries were half cold and half covered in grease. The mac n cheese was good, not great, same as the onion rings. However, the main dishes were very disappointing. I got the fried chicken which was so burnt i had the crack the skin open with my fork and knife, not to mention it had literally no seasoning. My boyfriend's burger was nothing to write home about either. The bun looked pretty, but it was so stiff and hard, he actually had to take it off. I understand they were understaffed but this was all a bit much considering my bill was $60 read more

I ordered food to go. Once I received my order, the fries were not hot, the onion rings were overcooked almost burnt the double cheeseburgers were burnt we couldn't even eat them. The best thing was the shake. I ask for fresh fries and they actually recooked the fries I gave them back. The young lady at the to go counter (rudely) asked me why I wanted replacement items which was very unsettling. The whole time they didn't realize that I am a true food critic. read more
