A not so hidden gem. This spot has been around 14 years, and deserves to be a lot more well known. The service was amazing. Victor was a dream and made us one of the best cocktails I've ever had. They have a ton of specials including a great happy hour on weekdays from 2-7pm and a ladies' night on Tuesdays. Food is very good, but the service is ridiculously slow and it's extremely overpriced. We paid almost $100 for a single entrée, a pot of tea, and an appetizer plate. I think the concept of this place is great. I love any and all Mediterranean food and I love the concept of the place in general. Pros is that I do think all the ingredients are pretty fresh, I got the brisket shawarma bowl and while I think the bowl was super refreshing and healthy, it lacked flavor. Sides in my bowl were underseasoned, and the meat was a little tougher than I'd like. But service was great and I think they have potential overall. We came in and were quickly seated. We studied the menu for a moment and ordered some drinks that turned out to be delicious: peach lemonade, sangria, and Lebanese Nights. We ordered some hummus, dolmas, and falafel. The dolmas came out warm which was a surprise to me because I have only had them cold or room temp. They were good and so was the hummus. I didn't care for the falafel, but I'm picky when it comes to my falafel. For mains we got chicken sharwarma bowl which is enough to feed 2 people. My husband got the lamb dish. It's smaller than it looked on the "famous " Tik Tok. The manager/ owner not sure which he is came to our table and asked how we heard about them. He thought maybe we saw the Tik Tok and that's when it clicked for me. They were very attentive. I don't if this is the usual or if they didn't want another viral Tik Tok. They offer hookah also. The one thing I don't like is that they automatically add gratuity. We only had 3 people in our party, so that was a little off putting especially for the area they are in. Went for a late dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and comfortable seating options. The decor is modern and classy. They serve Mediterranean/Moroccan cuisine. The menu provides excellent choices while not being overwhelming. We were a party of 3 and we started with the Mezza Platter and Tabbouleh salad. Both had excellent flavors and in my opinion, the Mezza Platter must not be missed. We then shared the Chicken Kebab, Chicken Shawarma Bowl, and Falafel. Everything was cooked to perfection and had great flavors. The rice that came with the Kebab was flavorful and the veggies were grilled well. The Shawarma bowl was a surprise. It was sliced chicken mixed with hummus-like sauce with some pomegranate. Amazing flavors. The Falafel was one of the best I have had! The service is great but not intrusive and neither rushed. They also had live music with a singer playing, Moroccan, Arabic, and Hindi songs. I thought the volume of the music was a bit high compared to the size of the room. They were very short staffed but I couldn't even tell. Randa was on top of it. Everything was delicious. The interior is beautiful. I'd love to see it at night. The food was soooo good! Being a Mediterranean food fan, this restaurant had been on my list for a while, and my birthday celebration couldn't have been a better occasion to visit this place. My husband had planned this in advance by making a reservation (which I highly suggest you do). As soon as we entered the restaurant, there's beautiful lanterns, decorations which keeps you so mesmerized throughout your time in the restaurant. Once we got seated, the owner took our order who's so kind enough to explain us through every question we had. I think we all loved chatting with him *_* On the food side, there wasn't any item on our plate which we didn't like. From the platter to baklava, everything is house made. You can see the difference in the preparation here versus what you eat outside. Must try : Babboush platter (great assortments of dressings with pita), falafel, Goat cheese cigar, Chicken kebob platter, baklava, and lastly the cocktails. We split the Mezza Platter. It was $25 which I thought was steep for an appetizer but I guess reasonable for West Village. I ordered the chicken kabobs for an entree. They were seasoned and grilled to perfection! I loved the charred veggies and garlic cream!! I walked away with lots of leftovers. I was feeling like something different and Yelp did not disappoint with its suggestions. I was coming for dinner and as soon as I pulled up, I was immediately captivated by the vibe on the patio alone. Everyone just looked so relaxed, some had hookah, most were eating. It was a little warm, so I opted to sit inside. The decor is very legit and almost transports you to another place to the point I half expected someone to start belly dancing! That didn't happen, but you get the picture. Our server was SUPER friendly. I ordered the salmon with hummus and pita bread. Their pita was super fresh and tasted great, the hummus was super smooth and you can tell freshly made as well. The serving sizes are perfect... I got two of the most delicious, tender big chunks of salmon that were well seasoned and just melted in my mouth. We were a party of four on a recent cold evening. Were seated promptly and our drink order was taken and delivered. Started with the platter of appetizers, which was beautifully presented and very tasty. Entrees were the chicken Kabab (fantastic flavor) and the salmon. They were delivered when we requested ( waited for us to enjoy the platter) and were wonderful. There was a very talented singer / guitarist who did traditional Lebanese and popular music. They have got the science down perfect to make a CRSIPY, WET/STICKY wing. Nobody gets this right but BABOUSH!! Beef kebabs are so tender and juicy!! My wife and I share the wings and beef kebab platter and we are always content when we finish. Not stuffed but just enough room left in case you want dessert. Alright Foodie Friends! New city. New experiences. If you've read any of my posts before, you know how much I love Mom n Pop places. This is just such a place. It's Moroccan. The melange of flavors are amazing. We chose the Lemon Chicken and the Chicken Kabob. Both were exceptionally good. The quality of the ingredients and the care that went into the preparation process was obvious. The Falafel was crisp outside and just right inside. The Tahini was rich and flavorful.
