My wife has the schnitzel chicken sandwich. The chicken was well fried. It is delicious. I have the combo plate by building up. My protein is beef doner. I like beef how it grilles it. The meat is flavorful. The base I have rice and the toppings is the fresh veggies. I have the sauce on side. I did get the spicy sauce. Food is good. My meat come with a drink. This is only the second restaurant I have found in the entire state of Florida that offers a doner kebab sandwich -- one of the all-time great street foods popularized in Germany by immigrants from Turkey. Baba's Kebab is a new place that has a few tables for dining in. You can order a doner kebab "German way" or "your way." I did the latter and chose pickled cabbage, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, hummus and garlic sauce with chicken as my choice of protein. There was an orange chili sauce I didn't choose that will necessitate a return visit because it looked so good. In addition to doners you can get wraps, gyros and bowls. If you're from Germany and miss a nice Turkish kebab shop... this one might be for you. It's not gourmet but it feels nostalgic. The family that runs the place is really nice and they have moved from turkey to Austria to America. Feel free to practice your German they sprechen. They make fresh bread every day. Don't bother getting the wrap. I got the chicken and it's rotisserie grilled over hot coal. The place is in a strip mall and they were having AC issues but that also felt authentically European. We were there for lunch. I ordered a schnitzel in pita bread. The meal includes a can soda. The watermelon soda was a good drink. The fresh bake pita bread and the chicken schnitzel were excellent. I had red cabbage, tomato slice, cucumber, white garlic sauce in the sandwich. The crunchy, juicy, soft fresh bread, turned into a such tasty combination. The meat portion was generous. I took the rice instead of fry. The rice was also very good. They were perfect texture and so rich in cardamom fragrance. I am a fan! The services were attentive. I lived in Germany for a while and döners are amazing sober and drinking; each restaurant has a slightly different version. Baba's could definitely be found in downtown Kaiserslautern or Wiesbaden! Delicious, fresh ingredients, FILLING, and a good value for what you get. The man constructing the meal asked which way I wanted it and was pleased with my choice. We were excited to try this place for lunch especially since my husband spent time in Germany during his Army service. He loves German food and we don't have a lot of places near us. We arrived at around 1pm on a Tuesday to find the store well-lit with a big OPEN sign in the window. When I tried the door, it was locked. We looked in the window and saw no one. While we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, I looked on their FB page and found they are only open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Google maps said they were open when I checked. I've lived in Germany for 6 years and can say that these Doners LOOK similar to what you would get in Germany but the taste is not right. I ordered the beef Doner and it was very bland tasting and is a different style cut than what you get in Germany. The garlic sauce also did not taste authentic. We are always on the lookout for new and unique restaurants and we were excited to see this pop up in the plaza where we have a good Peruvian and Thai place. My wife and I both got the beef sandwiches. The first bite was decent but after a few more bites we both agreed that the meat was hard, almost like it had been recooked. The veggies were fresh and the sauce was good, unfortunately the meat was the main part of the sandwich. Maybe its because it was in the evening time when we got our meals. The fries were decent. Came to Tampa to visit some friends and family and I was really craving kebab so I stopped here. It's a traditional middle eastern restaurant with a German fusion. Something I've never heard of before and is very unique. I ordered the beef kebab sandwich combo. Definitely one of the best kebab sandwiches I've ever had. Gave me nostalgic memories of authentic kebabs from the Middle East. Beef was juicy, veggies, and pita was fresh. It was so big and filling that I was able to save the other half for later. My brother ordered the chicken schnitzel. He loved it and said it was refreshing sandwich because he's never had something like it before. It was also massive and my brother saved it for later. The prices are really great for the amount of food you get. The customer service was excellent and I had an amazing experience. 10/10 I'd recommend this place. I support a small business, but I cannot really support this restaurant because the food is not good for the price. My husband and I ordered the steak kabob plates, one with fries and the other with rice. They were $20-22 each. They came with a small salad and 1 can soda, no pita bread. The meat was not like the one served on a traditional kebab, it was cooking over a skewer for God knows how long (it was 8pm when I arrived). The meat was very dry. The rice was boring. The fries were from a freezer because I saw them make it. Totally not worth the price, the plates should have been no more than $10 for what we got. The garlic sauce was good and the customer service was great, but that is not enough for us to want to eat here again. If you need customers, you need to seriously lower your prices! read more
