We drove from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete, and got Princess Parking right in front of the eatery. As the weather was beautiful, we opted to sit outside, and the waiter was wonderful, he made sure to get our drinks, i got a can of coke and my friend got a dark german beer. Both were good. We ordered off the menu, i ordered the Vienna Schnitzel, pork with their Best of the Bay fries my friend got 2 different kinds of sausage, some fries and sauerkraut. The food didnt take long to cook and was delivered piping hot. The fries? They live up to the best of the bay. They are delicious and crispy with a hint of garlic. Absolutely amazing. We had to give this place a try. We were seated right away by the owner, she was so friendly! I even got it practice my German with her. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. The place is simply decorated, but has delicious food. I tried their 'Vienna Schnitzel' and it was delicious. My fiancé tried their 'Jager Schnitzel' and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both tried their potato salad as a side, and it was delicious. We loved the raw onion in there! We enjoyed some German beer along side our meal. The service was quick and friendly. I love schnitzel and I tried the curry, the regular and the mushroom. All were great. Beers are served correctly and choice is limited but accurate to the cuisine. We were a bit disappointed in our meals here. We've grabbed a side of fries to go before during a late night out and they were sooo good, that we made a point to return for dinner. Schnitzel with curry tasted like a warm ketchup sauce (so no actual curry flavor) and the schnitzel Jager had a mushroom sauce that was also very mild tasting with canned mushrooms. I am so strongly against canned mushrooms (I think most people are with me on this) and have no idea why occasionally a restaurant will think its ok to put them on top of a gourmet pizza or in a sauce. I love mushrooms, but if you can't supply fresh, then just don't offer it at all. If I remember correctly, the pork schnitzel was pounded too thin and was a bit dried out, but the chicken was the thicker juicier meat. The fries as always did not disappoint. read more

Great flavor. Has noodles in the bottom which we didn't even realize until after he had eaten some and then went to mix in the bowl again. I got the German pretzels to go. OMGOSH!! Five stars! It is incredible! The place may not seem like much at first glance. It's a little hole in the wall in a great area and it was quiet when we came in. However, the food was incredible. The pretzels were great, as were the French fries we all shared- so well seasoned and crispy. I hate when French fries are bland and these are anything but. I got the chicken curry schnitzel and WOW the flavor is so good. A little spicy but nothing I (a wimp with spicy food) couldn't handle. Also not usually a huge potato salad fan and I am now a fan of theirs!! Big portions and you'll likely have leftovers. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their meals, and everything was well prepared and even came with little German flag toothpicks on top- so fun. On top of all of that, our waiter overheard we were celebrating my sister's birthday. She lived in Germany for a while, speaks German, and we were so excited to take her here. He brought us a slice of German chocolate cake with an amazing sparkling candle on top. Thank you for helping her feel special! I would definitely come back next time we go to St. Pete! We visited on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm for a to-go order. Parking on the street was challenging due to the popularity of the Central Avenue area but I found a free spot only 1 block away. The restaurant is bright, airy and well-decorated. The bathroom in back is very clean which is appreciated. The gentleman who took my order was professional and friendly. While I was waiting only 10 minutes for our food, we chatted. I learned Lotfi came from Algeria 8 years ago. He loves St Petersburg as do my wife and I. I saw a Diet Coke can in the fridge and realized my wife would really like that. Since I'd already ordered and paid for $90 worth of food including a 15% tip, Lotfi just gave me the drink for free. Thanks Lotfi! Much appreciated. The food traveled well to our home but we ate the fries on the way. The curry wurst was very good according to my wonderful wife. We last had it in Berlin where it was invented by combining German sausage with British curry after World War 2. The potato salad is kinda bland and it's relatively cold but not ice cold. A healthy dose of black pepper helped. On the bright side, it was not swimming in bacon fat or vinegar. The Jaeger schnitzel, fried pork (or veal) with mushroom gravy is crunchy and tasty. The portion size is quite sufficient with two large pieces of meat, enough for four meals for me! We both got the pork variety as I'm not a fan of veal and how it's produced. Fries were perfectly crunchy with salt and perhaps parsley and onion powder? They were clearly just made and were very good. I hate soggy fries that most places serve but these were excellent.
