Closer look at the lemon dill shrimp dip

My husband was insistent that we go to Uncle Funz after he had a sandwich there one time while working on the beach. I reluctantly agreed to make the 45 min drive for a "sandwich". Holy hell! Do not let the exterior fool you, this is a 5 star Michelin worthy "sandwich"! We walked in, and Jen greeted us like family. We ordered the Baja crab and corn chowder, lemon dill shrimp dip, a roast beef and a smoked mahi sandwich. Sounds like a lot, especially since their sandwiches are HUGE, but everything was so light and delicious! The shop is super duper cute inside, with cloth napkins and real flatware, no detail left un thought of...to include the nice TP in the bathroom ;-) Go for the food, stay for the service and the ambiance. This will not be my last sandwich from Uncle Funz!

This place was soooo good and the vibes were great! We tried two sandwiches and the crap dip. It is a smaller establishment so keep that in mind as there is a chance you won't be able to get any seating. The menu changes for this place each week and they are only open certain days of the week so make sure you check their Instagram in advance.

Uncle Fun Provisions... wow! Just wow!!!!! Was in St. Pete at the beach and got hungry. Decided to come here because it looked like a good local business. Such a great decisions were made by coming here! We started with a glass of white wine and water! I got the Italian sandwich that was huge! It was layered and had a really great sauce in it. My friend got the shrimp salad. Probably the star of the show.. no lettuce in sight. Broccolini as the lettuce. The shrimp was delicious and it was like eating the rainbow! Jennifer and Zach the owners were so nice and welcoming. They gave us advice on what to do in the area. This restaurant is a true gem. Located in a strip mall. They have some outdoor seating and inside seating at the bar. Everything is clean, organized and aesthetically pleasing! I forgot to take a photo of the bathroom but man is it cute!!!! If you want an amazing local meal please come check this place out! Fresh ingredients, flavor and supporting a small local business!!!!

We were in the area and wanted to grab something to eat and found this great little spot with yelp. It's in a little strip plaza but once you walk inside it is very bright, clean and comfortable. We got the street corn dip which was amazing and a pesto meatball sandwich . The sandwich was delicious with great flavor and texture . They change the menu weekly . The staff was friendly and helpful.

    Yup, caviar for you ballerz

If the iconic 80's band The Surf Punks were a small restaurant, Uncle Funz Provisions would be it! So as to not bury the headline, the food here is some of the best in the Bay period! Nevermind its sandwiches and salads, the attention to delicious detail on each item puts them in the top 5% of Central FL restaurants IMO. And with a new menu every Wednesday, you can't complain about the same ole same ole. I'm still having dreams about that monstrous mortadella!! Add to the mix the friendly & colorful owners plus a bitching soundtrack, and you've got an A+ here friends. And happy to report as of Jan 2025, they're alive & kicking following the devastation of 2024 hurricanes....so go to there now!

The food is amazing! Local fun atmosphere, check! The owners make you feel like family and the service is amazing. This is one of the best lunch spots I have been to in Florida! I highly recommend it but get there early enough to beat the line. Definitely make it a point to try a few of the dips.

The food, service and atmosphere are all great. Also, the sandwiches are spectacular!

First time here and we loved the Caesar salad. It was absolutely delicious. The turkey sandwich was huge. I split the Caesar salad and the turkey sandwich with my husband and we were both full. We will definitely come back for another sandwich. The wine was delicious. This place is very cute and the food is absolutely delicious and super fresh. The service is excellent !

We are so excited that the Chef from Z-grill opened a lunch restaurant on St Pete Beach. They change their menu every Wednesday and only use fresh ingredients. We stopped by Sunday morning (11am) and picked up black grouper fish spread, homemade salsa & corn tortilla chips and their amazing potato salad as a snack for beach. We plan to come back to try their salads & sandwiches. Service is outstanding & friendly cause its Zack & Jennifer working hard. Great place to get take out before you head to the beach. Or if you work from home, perfect way to get something quick, just call ahead. Beach casual, clean with a nice little area to buy some lovely items for foodie gifts. They have wine, olive oil, provisions, craft beer. Grateful this little gem came to the area.

    Mesquite Turkey sandwich

This place was DELICIOUS! If you like fresh sandwiches with delicious salads or soup this is your place! I stumbled upon this place through yelp and the reviews held true. Very small, intimate indoors. You will probably have to order your food to go. Just two people running it and they make the food right there. The lady who took our order was so kind. The menu is very limited but you will want one of everything. It was more on the pricer side but very worth it! I got the mesquite turkey and a cup of the jerk chicken soup. I might just have to visit st pete simply for this place.

    Beef cheek pot stickers

WOW!!! this place is a real treat and a must-visit. You'll be greeted by the owners, Jen and Zach. Jen is warm, friendly and conversational running the front of house and Zach is the chef behind the scenes, and a culinary genius. Every dish is thoughtfully curated with flavors that pair perfectly. They serve fine wine from the best regions which are hand selected by Jen and she has great taste. This time, we shared the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and beef cheek pot stickers which were paired with a dipping cup of the mushroom bisque. The bisque was such a perfect pair with the beef cheeks that we took a cup home to complement the pot roast we were having for dinner. Everything was incredible. They use fresh ingredients and the best part is they change the menu every week so there's always something new to try. One never knows what they might find when trying a sandwich shop in a beach strip mall and we were so impressed with everything down to the ambiance. The decor is tasteful and it was truly a lovely lunch experience chatting with the owners and fellow guests. This restaurant and Chef Zach should be awarded. We will be back often!

    Jerk chicken sandwich

This place is excellent! My wife and I split a sandwich and a salad. The salad dressing was clearly homemade and delicious! The jerk chicken sandwich was very flavorful and about as tender as you can get. This is a must visit place if you are in the area! Also they have very cool swag so make sure to pick up a shirt or hat!

    The best chicken sandwich ever!

I wanted to love this place not only to help out a local business but also because it came…read morerecommended. However, it fell short yesterday afternoon for us first-timers. Arrived to about a 1/2 full restaurant which was smaller than we expected. Seated promptly, menus presented, water ordered as my husband wanted to have time to look at the drink menu. We settled on the lunch menu with an order of bolognese and the meatball appetizer that we would share since Italian food is usually plentiful and filling. My husband also later ordered a glass of wine. Shortly after we were delivered bread to our table and we were confused because it looked like garlic knots. My husband said something to our waitress and I questioned maybe this bread goes with our lunch entree with the waitress standing right there and agreeing with me. We are not normally bread eaters and the more we looked at it, we thought it was a mistake. We flagged our waitress again as she was walking by and asked again. This time she said, "you did not order garlic knots?" and we said no, we ordered the meatball appetizer. She promptly takes the bread, goes back to the kitchen area and I thought I heard her say "lunch" to the chef, I assume. Not sure why this was confusing as my husband literally pointed at the lunch menu as he was ordering and saying we were going to split. Not a big deal at this point but then it seems like moments later she is back with the meatballs and the bolognese. We look at the dishes and we were literally shocked. We had never seen such small meatballs (2) for an appetizer for $9. I thought the meatballs would be redundant since we ordered bolognese but there was so little meat in the dish (maybe 2-3 teaspoons at the most) and so little pasta (think small salad bowl or plate size) that it was not redundant at all. A side of bread was brought with dipping oil as well. It was mid afternoon and we were very hungry at this point so we started eating.. Sadly the meatballs and bolognese were brought to us luke warm as if they had been warmed up. We certainly did not have a long wait so they were not sitting cooling down anywhere. We just ate our meal and ended up eating the bread (which was excellent) because it was not enough food for us. The waitress checked on us towards the end of our meal and finally brought my husband's 1/2 glass of $10 wine (we thought she had forgotten). We did not mention the temperature of the food because at that point we had already eaten it most of it. Looking at other reviews now I see some people did mention luke warm food and the owner did not seem to believe them. We know what was presented to us and yes, it was luke warm. We thought the food was pricey for what you get and the luke warm food on top of it makes us have no inclination to try this restaurant again. Overall we were not wowed by the quality of the food except the bread which we normally never eat.
