Date night with my lady - tried to make a reservation on OpenTable but they were all booked up. We showed up right after they opened and were given the option to sit at the bar or take a table that we might have to give up when the reservation arrived later - took the bar. To drink - the "Osaka Mule" and the "Shiso Heavy". Both were good, though we recognized that the Osaka Mule had a slight edge on the Shiso Heavy. Neither of us are normally sake drinkers so this was nice and refreshing for us - the Osaka Mule had nice hints of cucumber and the wasabi salt on the rim was a huge hit with us. To eat - we ordered the gyoza and the miso udon. The gyoza was incredible - an explosion of flavor unlike anything else I've had in a long time. Truly unforgettable and honestly the best part of my entire weekend. The miso udon was good as well - my partner thought the udon might've been just slightly overcooked. We split both and then decided to order the gyudon as well afterwards. The gyudon was also very good - daikon radish was a great addition to the flavor! With respect to the atmosphere/ambience - it's a small place, but cozy. The music was nice - the bartender allowed me to browse some of the records. They have a great collection and I enjoyed listening to several of their selection! It was a little pricy for me, but ultimately, to be expected of such a great experience. Stop one on our date night. In Between Days on 1st Ave S is a must. We walked in not knowing what to expect. Casual is accepted but I would opt for a little more on the business casual side in the evenings. The drink flight was a whole experience; in the best way possible. We then ventured to their "cocktails" which is all sake based. I opted for the Sangria and Pete got the Mule. Both are highly recommended to try! We decided to share a plate so we could try another location after, but let me tell you.... The Gyoza is so good I had to close my eyes and chew as slow as possible for fear of the flavor leaving me. Did I mention they received a spot on the Michelin guide this year?! They definitely deserve it between their rotating menu and creative cocktails, this is definitely not a one and done location. This place is a dream! I love how intimate the space is overall. There menu is very specialized and changes often. I love their drinks, particular the lychee rose one that I order on repeat. I came here and was able to work on some art while I enjoyed the live music and delicious tastes! There was the most beautiful rainbow outside that looked like a literal backdrop and I was able to capture it alongside the beautiful aesthetic of the space. Saw someone posted about this place on TikTok and I'm glad I found it right before my trip to St. Petersburg. In Between Days is such a vibe. It is a nice chic and cozy Japanese cocktail bar. They specialize on sake. I was really impressed with the mixology. If you are new to sake, they can give you excellent suggestions or let you try out some samples. I also enjoyed the record spinning session that they had. It definitely added the Tokyo flare to the ambience. I like that they had a decent list of NA beverages to choose from. This place is throwing down a vibe and I'm picking it up! Hubby surprised me with a date night and it was amazing. What to expect: This great little gem is located in a hipster neighborhood in a former home. There is off street parking and outdoor seating. This was a trendy stop in St Pete during our trip out there. Kind of a unique spot too, service was friendly and making a reservation is easy. Dishes are really expensive and take a while to come out. We made a reservation for 5 pm and ended up leaving close to 7. We ended up ordering 5 or so dishes and leaving hungry despite the cost - highly rec the gyoza and the chef noodle. Want to echo another reviewer who said they have light pours. Mom and I ordered cocktails and couldn't taste any of the sake or alcohol in them. There is one beer on the menu, along with some mocktails and different cocktails with sake in them. The music was nice and not obnoxious or difficult to listen to. The temperature inside was comfortable too. Parking is street parking! Make a reservation ahead of time if you can, walk ins are limited. Tokyo tucked away in the heart of St Pete! For a starter we opted for the Oysters which were from New Brunswick Canada this week. They were delicious and well shucked. Followed by a Bruleed Pork Belly shaped by a delicious creamy sauce. Perfectly cooked and very delicious. The amberjack was amazing as well and they provided two cuts (belly and loin) incredibly fresh and buttery accompanied by various garnishes. The sake flight complimented the meal extremely well. In Between Days is one of my favorite spots in all of the Tampa/St. Pete area. Such a cool concept to have a Tokyo-style listening bar, but with not only good drinks but amazing food too! My girlfriend and I started with drinks, and got the Lychee Sangria and the Cucumber Mule. The wasabi salt on the rim of the mule was so creative and fun, with the wasabi flaring up in your mouth and then the drink cooling it off. For food, all of their menu items are shareables. The cucumber salad was a nice start, but the pork belly was absolutely the best dish I've had in months. It melted in your mouth and was so indulgent it felt like dessert. The short rib and carrot gyoza was also good with a nice parsnip purée to lighten it up. As you eat and drink, you can sit back and enjoy the jazzy beats of whatever records were chosen to play that night. The servers are friendly and attentive. I love the decoration and little details inside the building too! Overall, this is just such a well crafted and well run establishment that kinda flies under the radar since it's so small, and I hope it gets the credit it deserves! read more

I'm a sake lover so this place was on my list. It's a little hard to find as its in an unassuming house in a residential area. There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood, which seems a little bit on the sketchy side. I had to drive by twice to find the sign. The interior is small, but cool. The sushi here is sashimi style and very expensive. $38 for about 8 pieces of Hamachi seemed steep to me as you need to order more than this to get full. The sake selection and service were great. We each ordered the 5-flight sake and they were both different, which was great because we shared our favorites. Can't say enough about the hamachi crudo, short rib gyoza (served on top of yummy parsnip puree) or the chef's noodles (glass noodles and huge prawns in a flavorful spicy broth)! This is a very cute little place right off the main drag of central ave. A reservation is highly recommended as it does get busy. I got the berenguer luck and it was divine! It was so light but the heat from the serrano pepper really what did it for me. It was a spicy drink that was actually spicy but in such a controlled way that didn't over power the other flavors. As a small plate we got the crudo and we didn't want to leave yet so we ordered the mushroom dumplings as well. The crudo was fresh and really just melted in your mouth. The dumplings were okay, maybe a bit too gingery for my liking but my friend really enjoyed them. I look forward to going back!
