Saw someone posted about this place on TikTok and I'm glad I found it right before my trip to St. Petersburg. In Between Days is such a vibe. It is a nice chic and cozy Japanese cocktail bar. This place is throwing down a vibe and I'm picking it up! Hubby surprised me with a date night and it was amazing. What to expect: This great little gem is located in a hipster neighborhood in a former home. There is off street parking and outdoor seating. When you step inside you feel like you are walking into your best friend's house where you instantly feel cozy and welcomed. There are about 6-7 tables and a beautiful bar so make sure you make reservations. The atmosphere is so romantic and intimate with records (yes like the actual vinyl ones) playing and very soft lighting. This was a trendy stop in St Pete during our trip out there. Kind of a unique spot too, service was friendly and making a reservation is easy. Dishes are really expensive and take a while to come out. We made a reservation for 5 pm and ended up leaving close to 7. Food is 'tapas style' so wouldn't recommend coming in for a full meal, and quite small for how expensive they were. We ended up ordering 5 or so dishes and leaving hungry despite the cost - highly rec the gyoza and the chef noodle. Want to echo another reviewer who said they have light pours. Mom and I ordered cocktails and couldn't taste any of the sake or alcohol in them. There is one beer on the menu, along with some mocktails and different cocktails with sake in them. The music was nice and not obnoxious or difficult to listen to. The temperature inside was comfortable too. Parking is street parking! Make a reservation ahead of time if you can, walk ins are limited. Tokyo tucked away in the heart of St Pete! For a starter we opted for the Oysters which were from New Brunswick Canada this week. They were delicious and well shucked. Followed by a Bruleed Pork Belly shaped by a delicious creamy sauce. Perfectly cooked and very delicious. The amberjack was amazing as well and they provided two cuts (belly and loin) incredibly fresh and buttery accompanied by various garnishes. The sake flight complimented the meal extremely well. In Between Days is one of my favorite spots in all of the Tampa/St. Pete area. Such a cool concept to have a Tokyo-style listening bar, but with not only good drinks but amazing food too! My girlfriend and I started with drinks, and got the Lychee Sangria and the Cucumber Mule. The wasabi salt on the rim of the mule was so creative and fun, with the wasabi flaring up in your mouth and then the drink cooling it off. For food, all of their menu items are shareables. The cucumber salad was a nice start, but the pork belly was absolutely the best dish I've had in months. It melted in your mouth and was so indulgent it felt like dessert. The short rib and carrot gyoza was also good with a nice parsnip purée to lighten it up. As you eat and drink, you can sit back and enjoy the jazzy beats of whatever records were chosen to play that night. The servers are friendly and attentive. I love the decoration and little details inside the building too! Overall, this is just such a well crafted and well run establishment that kinda flies under the radar since it's so small, and I hope it gets the credit it deserves! read more

The first drink I had was a hibiscus inspired drink, which was great and then the second drink I had was a coffee inspired lavender drink, but the lavender was a bit too strong for my liking. I'm a sake lover so this place was on my list. It's a little hard to find as its in an unassuming house in a residential area. There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood, which seems a little bit on the sketchy side. I had to drive by twice to find the sign. The interior is small, but cool. The sushi here is sashimi style and very expensive. $38 for about 8 pieces of Hamachi seemed steep to me as you need to order more than this to get full. The sake selection and service were great. She kept saying it was "last call" every hour...so were you lying about us being able to order more food? Also, why are beer bottle boxes being stored in the bathroom? We each ordered the 5-flight sake and they were both different, which was great because we shared our favorites. We don't really mind things like that so if you want a table i recommend making reservations. I tried the "wildflower " sake. Very plumy and fragrant. I enjoyed it. We tried a little bit of everything. The noodles special which was spicy miso broth with chicken and vegetables.The pineapple kimchi is a certified staple. I will order it every time i go. The oyster were small and fresh but i didn't ask where they were sourced. The onion vinegar sauce for the oysters was very pleasant. We also did the sticky rick and salmon which was served with a green tea broth on top. The salmon was tender and moist while the fried crunchy rice offered a great texture even in broth. This is a very cute little place right off the main drag of central ave. A reservation is highly recommended as it does get busy. I got the berenguer luck and it was divine! It was so light but the heat from the serrano pepper really what did it for me. It was a spicy drink that was actually spicy but in such a controlled way that didn't over power the other flavors. As a small plate we got the crudo and we didn't want to leave yet so we ordered the mushroom dumplings as well. The crudo was fresh and really just melted in your mouth. The dumplings were okay, maybe a bit too gingery for my liking but my friend really enjoyed them. I look forward to going back!
