The snow crabs were very disappointing this time. They were unusually small, and the meat was difficult to remove because they didn't seem to be cooked properly. It really took away from the experience since snow crab is usually one of the highlights for us. The jambalaya still had good flavor, but it was noticeably greasier than usual, which made it less enjoyable. The portion size also felt much smaller, which was surprising. Overall, the quality just didn't match our previous visits. Crab legs are priced at $25 for the first pound, with each additional pound just $20, for Tuesday special only. Service was good no complaints there.

Redfish

We finally tried this St Pete beach staple. Service was friendly and pretty speedy. We were a large group and got to try many different dishes. We had to try their famous new England Clam Chowder. It was tasty with a decent amount of clam, but it tasted a bit like raw onion and it arrived warm, but not hot. The calamari was over breaded for me. The Shrimp pasta was creamy and garlicky. The fried Redfish was good, but might be better blackened. The potatoes were just boiled with butter on top and not very exciting.

Nothing fancy but good food, big servings, and great prices! I had the clam chowder which was good but had an ingredient I couldn't identify that wasn't my favorite. The shrimp pasta was big and tasty. I thought I would take some home but surprised my self by finishing it. The rainbow trout special was a big 10 oz and half made it home. Juan was a great server, I liked the eclectic mix of music and they have a parking lot.

Very delicious seafood restaurant. We got some wonderful crab legs, shrimp and salmon. Great place, friendly service. This was a busy place but our server was right on it and food came out right on time.

The crab legs were delicious and so was the blackened redfish. The sides were just ok, not very flavorful. Will probably try somewhere else for seafood next time.

Very local feeling and cozy restaurant. I got the rumrunner to start. Then order the clam chowder and calamari to share and these were all equally good. Then I ordered the fried red fish for an entree which was very good. Would come back.

My granddaughter went with kids fish and fries. My wife chose the fish sandwich with fries. While I went with the crab legs (so yummy). This is a Military friendly restaurant.

Service was great! Food was not very good though. Just plain, not much flavor. Fried shrimp was the best thing that we had.

Shrimp pasta excellent! Fried calamari was excellent but a little more crusted than I prefer. The marinara was unique with a little spice. The key lime pie was ok Would definitely come back !

Raw shrimp

Based on other reviews I was really looking forward to this place. The staff was super nice however the food was not up to par. I ordered the shrimp trio and didn't realize till I bit in that the shrimp was still raw. The shrimp was overlapped on the skewer and didn't cook evenly. Serving raw food is a big NO NO. I especially have a sensitive stomach and easily get sick from improper food prep. My husband had the Jambalaya and he said it tasted good but a bit too tomato. The manager did come over to try and make it right, however raw food is a deal breaker for me and a basic food 101 no no. I believe I wasn't the only one to send back a meal as the table down from us also sent back the shrimp platter.

A poor excuse for a dinner

We were floored by how this place has plummeted since the original owner handed over the reins. What used to be our go-to spot for treating family and clients is now the culinary equivalent of a rerun from Kitchen Nightmares. Dinner felt less like a meal (with no salad, soup, or even a bread roll) and more like a cautionary tale. At over $25 a plate, we expected something edible, maybe even enjoyable. Instead, we got crab cakes that doubled as dental hazards--loaded with crunchy shell bits no one asked for. The shrimp was overcooked into tiny, rubbery tragedies. The rice was barely there and bland enough to forget mid-bite. But the worst part was definitely the "seasoned vegetables"--a wilted, sour mess of undercooked carrots and soggy onions and peppers that tasted like they'd been rescued from the compost pile. Quite literally. My partner's plate was no better: cod, scallops, and shrimp, all served in paper cups on a paper tray like some sad seafood picnic. Two miniature potatoes and a pat of melted butter rounded out the sad affair. Everything was over-fried, flavorless, and downright chewy--not in a good way. We weren't alone, either. Another table near us was deep in their own "what happened to this place?" conversation. Sadly, this once-beloved restaurant has cooked its last meal for us. We won't be back--and we'll be steering others clear too.

Thank you for the experience! We came here twice. We had to come back for their Tuesday special $20 1st lb of a legs. For every lb after that is $15. Can't beat the price. We ordered 3 lbs. We also had their fried mix seafood. Cod was delicious. Fries are delicious. We can pass on the slaw and veggies are stripped so I was not fond of that. Scampi was buttery. Too much butter. Waitress are awesome. They were all nice. It was packed on Tuesday so you might have to wait a bit or go when they open.

It was earthy and velvety and creamy, just so good. Brooke was fantastic, as was this restaurant. Definitely worth checking out!

Arrived to about a 1/2 full restaurant which was smaller than we expected. Seated promptly, menus presented, water ordered as my husband wanted to have time to look at the drink menu. We settled on the lunch menu with an order of bolognese and the meatball appetizer that we would share since Italian food is usually plentiful and filling. My husband also later ordered a glass of wine. Shortly after we were delivered bread to our table and we were confused because it looked like garlic knots. My husband said something to our waitress and I questioned maybe this bread goes with our lunch entree with the waitress standing right there and agreeing with me. We are not normally bread eaters and the more we looked at it, we thought it was a mistake. We flagged our waitress again as she was walking by and asked again. This time she said, "you did not order garlic knots?" and we said no, we ordered the meatball appetizer. She promptly takes the bread, goes back to the kitchen area and I thought I heard her say "lunch" to the chef, I assume. Not sure why this was confusing as my husband literally pointed at the lunch menu as he was ordering and saying we were going to split. Not a big deal at this point but then it seems like moments later she is back with the meatballs and the bolognese. We look at the dishes and we were literally shocked. We had never seen such small meatballs (2) for an appetizer for $9. I thought the meatballs would be redundant since we ordered bolognese but there was so little meat in the dish (maybe 2-3 teaspoons at the most) and so little pasta (think small salad bowl or plate size) that it was not redundant at all. A side of bread was brought with dipping oil as well. It was mid afternoon and we were very hungry at this point so we started eating.. Sadly the meatballs and bolognese were brought to us luke warm as if they had been warmed up. We certainly did not have a long wait so they were not sitting cooling down anywhere. We just ate our meal and ended up eating the bread (which was excellent) because it was not enough food for us. The waitress checked on us towards the end of our meal and finally brought my husband's 1/2 glass of $10 wine (we thought she had forgotten). We did not mention the temperature of the food because at that point we had already eaten it most of it. Looking at other reviews now I see some people did mention luke warm food and the owner did not seem to believe them. We know what was presented to us and yes, it was luke warm. We thought the food was pricey for what you get and the luke warm food on top of it makes us have no inclination to try this restaurant again. Overall we were not wowed by the quality of the food except the bread which we normally never eat.

She poked her head inside, she nodded back and the decision was made to visit COPA without a word. It was bustling on the inside with market goers passing through, but it was controlled chaos on the other side of the counter. The workers knew exactly what they were doing and even in busy time of the market they were quick to buss tables, get ordered items to customers fast and the bathroom was pristinely clean. The bumping A/C provided instant relief as we claimed the stools by the bar. My friends and I quickly agreed, this place is an absolute gem. So gorgeously decorated and the drinks, the mocktails, the pastry items, the food were beautiful and delicious. It really appeared they did everything well here. Service was impeccable and the side salad I ordered was so crisp and refreshing. Honestly 5 stars all around. The food, service, atmosphere and drinks were sensational and exceeded all expectations.

4.5 worth rounding up to 5 stars!…read more On a night I had my heart set on kebab (my NY roots had me craving halal truck), it was going to be tough for anything else to be satisfactory. We walked around a bit and I decided to try Copa, honestly out of hunger and a bit of desperation to also satisfy my picky kiddo (she saw coconut shrimp on the menu). This "Afro-Latin fusion" restaurant is underselling that they have the best Cuban food I've had in the city. It felt like home cooking of my favorites. The steak was perfectly tender and the chimichurri was a perfect compliment without being overpowering. The mango salad it came with was light and refreshing, and to my relief contained a few cherry tomato bits but no peppers (in my desperation I did not communicate my nightshade sensitivity). My daughter's coconut shrimp were great, my only complaint there is she would have eaten twice as many. The fries were nothing special, ask to substitute for tostones for sure. The maduros appetizer was yummy, pickled cabbage offset the sweetness beautifully. This is also a perfect Friday night spot- their happy hour is every weekday until 7:00pm, an $8 mule with my meal yes please! And it wasn't a skimpy pour, it was a nice balanced drink. My only slight disappointment was finding their black beans prepared with a ton of bell peppers, again I didn't advise ahead of time of my sensitivity so that's on me, but I strongly prefer the flavor without them anyway. And the rice was fine, plain white rice, which again is making me think I'm eating with family. This may have "fusion" on the door, but this was Cuban homestyle cooking at its best. What made this round up was the service, everyone we encountered was wonderfully friendly and genuinely helpful. I't wasn't the halal I had in mind tonight, but I'm leaving happy, and we'll come back on purpose!
