I've grown up coming to this local dive and it's still one of the best places on the beaches. No better blackened grouper sandwich in this city. It's the perfect way to spend the day on the water without being in the sun. Drink a cold beer on draft or order up a cocktail and watch the boaters go by or try and dock up. Fritters, wings and peel and eat shrimp are also big hits. If there is one thing I could change it's for them to have better coleslaw (it's not bad, it's just not great). Parking can be a bit tough, but if you have a boat you can pull right up to the dock and dock your boat which is great. I got the coconut shrimp basket that came with fries and was good. Wish they had a little better dipping sauce to elevate this dish. But the basket was good overall. I didn't love the ketchup. It's gotta be Heinz, or it's a bust. I wanted a restaurant on the water with peel and eat shrimp. I got that. The price was good. It doesn't smell clean and everything was sticky. The drinks were meh. I think they forgot the alcohol in mine. My daughter said hers was ok. We placed our order quickly but waited awhile for peel and eat shrimp and fried fish with fries. The fish was good. They don't make the cocktail sauce. The hush puppies were mushy. The shrimp were ok flavored thrown on top not cooked with it. Some of the shrimp were completely mush inside. While I live on the River in Bradenton, my go-to fun place is The Wharf. Couple days ago as I waited at the hostess stand another couple insisted they were there first and grabbed the last outside table. This restaurant has 2 areas to sit and is not as large as I thought it might be. The back deck area appeared to only have backless stools so if you need a chair with support or prefer standard height chairs, you will want to sit indoors. There is a long counter facing the water and then some high top picnic tables out back. Indoors are tables for 4 and 6. There is also a bar on the other side with another counter with bar stools. We chose outdoors where it was surprisingly comfortable with a breeze and fans overhead with a pretty view of the water and boats plus some wildlife. We were promptly given menus and our drink orders taken. We both decided on grouper dinners and were happy with our choice. When they came they were an adequate size, and very fresh. We chose blackened and beware it is more like Cajun and has a fairly good kick to it. You may want to choose lightly blackened if you want less kick. We had broccoli (phenomenal...cooked perfectly which is not the case at most restaurants), baked potatoes (very good) as our sides. Of course the grouper was the star and it was very tasty and fresh. This was our first time here, we are locals and we will definitely return. Our waitress was good, not great, but she did everything she needed to do. Parking seems limited. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday so parking was not a problem for us. read more

Acceptable crab cake, fresh house salad and nice potato salad. Will take some old bay next visit. I would suggest a sprinkle around edge of plate might look nice and you could drag bites through it for a nice kick. Thank you for draft coors light in a real cold glass - no plastic here. My friend and I ate here after being indecisive on where we were going to eat. I wanted a water view spot because this was my last night in Florida. We sat facing the marina watching the huge houses dreaming we lived in one of them. LOL We were able to see locals loading their boats and/or just passing by which was great entertainment while we ate. There was a a lot of seafood items but neither of us ate seafood. I ordered the medium buffalo wings and fries. My friend ordered the chili cheese fries. She wasn't a big fan of the chili but still ate most of her meal. She also had two glasses of their house wine. I stuck to water because it was very hot and I was driving. The finger food hit the spot for lunch. We chilled for awhile and just enjoyed the scenery. The staff were real cool and friendly. I've been a frequent patron of the Wharf for 20+ years. The atmosphere, food and service use to be tops in the St Pete Beach area, not anymore. The quality of food, servers and especially the older blonde hostess is terrible! They cater to low life, fowl mouth patrons more than patrons who are polite and respectful to others. Definitely not an environment for young children or those going to enjoy a peaceful meal. The food was tasteless, greasy and definitely not worth what they charge. Go back to being an enjoyable, friendly environment with food worth the price your charging and not a low life bar environment! read more

NOT handicap accessible! Hostess took one look at us and said "that is NOT going to work". Didn't get her name but she was a blonde older lady. She had a horrible attitude and told us my disabled father couldn't sit on the deck because "there wouldn't be enough room for people to walk around him" and they "don't even let strollers out there". Acted as if my father was nothing but a piece of furniture and an inconvenience to her. I have NEVER had someone be so insensitive & disrespectful to our faces!
