    Blacked Grouper Sandwich
    Marina T.

I've grown up coming to this local dive and it's still one of the best places on the beaches. No better blackened grouper sandwich in this city. It's the perfect way to spend the day on the water without being in the sun. Drink a cold beer on draft or order up a cocktail and watch the boaters go by or try and dock up. Fritters, wings and peel and eat shrimp are also big hits. If there is one thing I could change it's for them to have better coleslaw (it's not bad, it's just not great). Otherwise, it's a local establishment and the food is awesome.

This place is great to stop by for some great water views, drinks, and food. Has outdoor and indoor seating. Parking can be a bit tough, but if you have a boat you can pull right up to the dock and dock your boat which is great. I got the coconut shrimp basket that came with fries and was good. Wish they had a little better dipping sauce to elevate this dish. But the basket was good overall. I didn't love the ketchup. It's gotta be Heinz, or it's a bust. Definitely threw off the taste with my fries. Staff was okay, the place gets really busy. Food came out fast.

We got lucky finding a parking spot and getting seated right away (inside) even with a group of 6. We got syringe Jell-O shots which was fun as well as proper frozen Miami Vice drinks which were tasty. As you can probably guess, there were a good amount of rambunctious groups, but it was a Saturday at dinner time. We started with some calamari and fish dip which were both very good and then got the ceviche and grouper sandwich which were also very satisfying.

If you're in St Pete Beach, must visit The Wharf! Beach vibes and great views too. Hands down the BEST grouper sandwich I've ever had and super fresh. Service is fast and did not disappoint. Deff is my go-to spot when I'm around this area. - Peel N Eat Shrimp Seasoned w/Old Bay - Grouper Sandwich Blackened

Great spot to have lunch when you are by the beach! The view was nice & service was quick. The grouper sandwich is a great portion of fish and the chicken wings are fried perfectly. For those with shellfish allergies, all fried food will be off limits as they use the same fryer.

While I live on the River in Bradenton, my go-to fun place is The Wharf. Couple days ago as I waited at the hostess stand another couple insisted they were there first and grabbed the last outside table. I let it go but Hostess Amber didn't and long story short, once again the awesome Wharf staff made things right. The people, the food, the ambiance and the hospitality are just in perfect sync. This needs to be a must stop if you have never been. Thank you Amber and management. Capt Bruce and Kim. Grateful for you all.

Grouper dinner with 2 sides (I had already eaten most of my broccoli and some grouper because it was so good!)

This restaurant has 2 areas to sit and is not as large as I thought it might be. The back deck area appeared to only have backless stools so if you need a chair with support or prefer standard height chairs, you will want to sit indoors. There is a long counter facing the water and then some high top picnic tables out back. Indoors are tables for 4 and 6. There is also a bar on the other side with another counter with bar stools. We chose outdoors where it was surprisingly comfortable with a breeze and fans overhead with a pretty view of the water and boats plus some wildlife. We were promptly given menus and our drink orders taken. We both decided on grouper dinners and were happy with our choice. When they came they were an adequate size, and very fresh. We chose blackened and beware it is more like Cajun and has a fairly good kick to it. You may want to choose lightly blackened if you want less kick. We had broccoli (phenomenal...cooked perfectly which is not the case at most restaurants), baked potatoes (very good) as our sides. Of course the grouper was the star and it was very tasty and fresh. This was our first time here, we are locals and we will definitely return. Our waitress was good, not great, but she did everything she needed to do. Parking seems limited. We came for an early dinner on a Saturday so parking was not a problem for us.

Great experience. Seated fast, great food, and very kind service. Worth it to walk a bit further to avoid scam restaurants like Hurricanes.

Ask the Community - The Wharf

Do you see dolphins in the water here from the outside seating area?

You can, but it's rare. I think the adult dolphins bring their young to learn to swim in the tidal currents under the bridge to Vina Del Mar.

We brought a cooler (and while I totally understand why those aren't allowed inside) the staff made us trek it a quarter-mile away to a random sign rather than offering a convenient solution. The real kicker was leaving: despite being steps away from the street, we were forced to lug the cooler back through the sand and around the building rather than just walking through the parking lot. The logic just wasn't there, especially considering we spent over $150 on drinks while we were there. It's not like we weren't supporting the business; we were happy to pay, but we didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. Also, as someone who isn't a "hardcore" environmentalist, seeing the beach littered with plastic straws was disappointing. I thought I found shells in the sand twice, only to realize I was digging up plastic. Great spot for a drink, but be prepared for some frustrating hurdles and a lot of plastic waste.

We like this location because it does have a rooftop patio where you can sit and watch the inlet. They also have a large outdoor seating area that is covered. When we got there on Friday around three in the afternoon, it was already pretty busy with a very senior crowd. We chose to order a couple of beers and just sat at one of the tables outside. From what we observed, the team all seem pretty friendly and when we did ask if they had bottles of water, they did make the effort to see if they could find any on property. Unfortunately, the one location they looked that they thought they would be, and they didn't have them- at that point we were just ready to keep moving on with our day so let them know it was fine and we appreciated the attempt.
